35 Preparation for the Grand Finals
The first thing Shye opened was the [Shop] and then he opened the [Skills] option. All of his skills were exposed by Eusford so he needed to purchase new skills or upgrade his old ones.
Unfortunately, upgrading skills to the next level was very expensive.
He needed to spend 1000 points to upgrade a single skill which meant that he could only upgrade two skills with his 2000 points.
Shye quickly scratched the idea of upgrading his skills and instead, he chose to acquire two new ones for only 500 points per skill.
Their next match would be scheduled tomorrow along with the grand finals of the other courses.
Thanks to Siegfried's honorable personality, he didn't need to fight too hard before securing a grand finals spot for his class which meant that their class ranking would at least be 2nd even if they lost in the grand finals tomorrow.
Due to this, Shye had a lot of time to prepare so he patiently scrolled down and checked each and every skill's description.
There were some skills that were inapplicable to him like the [Shield Bash Lv.1] so he skipped reading the description of those skills to save a bit of time.
After half an hour of scrolling, Shye was interrupted by a voice.
"Crowley? What are you doing?"
Shirley asked with a curious voice. She had been observing Shye since earlier and he was wiggling his fingers in the air like some kind of weirdo so she couldn't help but ask.
"Oh…Me?…Just hanging around…"
Shye nervously replied, he couldn't think of a proper answer instantly so he just accidentally blurted out some nonsense which made Shirley even more confused.
Since there were no more matches for their class today, Shye decided to go home so he could browse his Flashy Adventurer System in peace.
"Uhm…I need to go home early today…Since there would be no more matches, I would like to eat lunch with my little sister. See you tomorrow, Shirley."
Although Shirley was a bit disappointed after hearing that Shye was going home early, she didn't take it to heart too much. On the contrary, she felt that going home to eat lunch with his little sister was very cute.
"Okay! See you tomorrow!"
Shirley simply bid Shye goodbye because she knew that she couldn't rush things between them. It was good enough for her as long as they had a bit of progress every day.
Shye smiled at Shirley before leaving the warrior course arena. He would like to see Siegfried's battles but preparing for the grand finals without exposing his system was more important.
After a few minutes of walking, he arrived at the front door of his dormitory. Shye swiped his identification card to unlock the door before entering.
"Hello big brother! You're back early again today."
He was greeted by Maia who was currently sitting on the sofa while watching the television.
"Yeah, our opponent today surrendered so I had some free time and I need to make some preparations for our finals match tomorrow."
Shye patiently explained.
"Yeah, I know, I'm always watching your matches on the TV and you're always so cool when you win! How are you always doing that?"
Maia's eyes sparkled as she asked Shye an impossible question to answer.
Shye couldn't help but chuckle a bit after seeing the admiration in his little sister's eyes so he tried his best to answer the impossible question.
"Well…I admit that there is a bit of luck involved and that's how I always manage to win in a cool manner but training hard definitely helps create chances for me. If you continue to work hard you'll probably be like me!"
Shye said as he rubbed Maia's head.
"Leave it to me big brother! I will surely be a big star like big brother in the future!"
"That's good… Well then, I'm going to rest in my room for a bit"
"Okay big brother, have a nice rest!"

Inside his room, Shye slowly but continuously scrolled down to try and find a good skill that would help him get the win in the grand finals tomorrow.
Finally, after half an hour, he found a skill that attracted his attention.
[Stoic Lv.1] - Reduces the opponent's damage to the user's body by 50% for five seconds. While [Stoic Lv.1] is active, the user cannot be knocked out or blown back.
"This is it! This is what I need as a greatsword user!"
Shye excitedly purchased [Stoic Lv.1]. As a greatsword user, he is very susceptible to quick attacks which may sometimes disrupt his own attacks but with [Stoic Lv.1], he can trade a weak quick attack from the enemy with one of his full-powered blows.
Every warrior knows that the greatsword has the greatest amount of destructive damage. For example, let's say that there are two dueling warriors.
One warrior uses an iron shortsword as a weapon while the other one has an iron greatsword.
If the two warriors took each other's attack cleanly, the iron shortsword might be able to cut a deep wound on the body of the opponent but an iron greatsword would cut the entire body in half.
With [Stoic Lv.1] Shye can willingly receive the damage from the iron shortsword while he focuses on cleaving the opponent in half using his iron greatsword.
A truly fitting skill for his weapon!
Due to the acquisition of this skill, Shye changed his decision. Instead of purchasing another skill, he decided to use 1000 points to level up his burst damage skill to [Power Slash Lv.2]
Then, with the remaining 600 points, he upgraded his attributes. Unfortunately, it now costs 60 points each to upgrade his attributes.
Shye allocated the ten points that he could purchase to the attributes that will help him secure the victory in his final match tomorrow.
After the warm feeling coursed through his body, Shye opened his [Status].
