Chapter 4: Flash Marriage

Tong Tong was carried onto the car by Mu Jingyan.

Xiaoxun quickly got into the car and drove away swiftly, the scenery outside the window moving away into the distance.

Everyone outside said that Mu Jingyan was ruthless and brutal, a fearsome King Yama that people dreaded, but after having gone through the recent events, now sitting beside him, Tong Tong actually felt very secure.

She sneakily turned her head to look at Mu Jingyan, light and shadow flitting across his face constantly, making him appear even more enigmatic.

With his tall and straight nose bridge, deep-set eyes and brows, every part of his facial features seemed like a perfect masterpiece meticulously carved by God.

Before this, she had never imagined that there would really be men in the world so handsome that one couldn't take their eyes off them.

Mu Jingyan turned his head, "Have you looked enough?"

"Ah... yes, I've looked enough..." Tong Tong answered embarrassingly, having been caught in the act.

Seeing that Mu Jingyan had turned his head away, Tong Tong gathered her courage, raised her hand, and gently tapped twice on the man's arm.

"That, are my trousers here?"

Even though Mu Jingyan had draped his suit jacket over her to cover her lower body, she wasn't wearing trousers underneath it, which inevitably made her feel somewhat embarrassed.

Mu Jingyan didn't say anything, and Tong Tong quickly realized something.

Who was this? He was the powerful man who could do anything in Huaicheng, and she was actually expecting the man to help her get her trousers?

Tong Tong shrank her neck back and settled herself properly in her seat again, grateful that Mu Jingyan had saved her this time. She had barely managed to hold onto her life after the ordeal, now wasn't the time to worry about trousers.

The car was still driving, and Tong Tong didn't know where Mu Jingyan was taking her, nor did she dare ask.

When the car finally stopped, Tong Tong looked out of the window and noticed that they were at the civil affairs office!

Why had Mu Jingyan brought her here?

Seeing Mu Jingyan getting out of the car, Tong Tong also prepared to get up and follow.

"Don't move."

The man's voice was cold but actually quite pleasant to hear.

Tong Tong looked up at him, only to see a bodyguard not far away running over with a bag in his arms.

Mu Jingyan handed the bag to Tong Tong, then closed the car door.

Xiaoxun got out of the car as well, leaving her alone inside.

She opened the bag, which contained a skirt.

So... had Mu Jingyan especially had someone prepare a skirt for her?

The car's windows were tinted for privacy, and she quickly changed into the skirt, feeling somewhat embarrassed as she got out of the car.

"Uncle, thank you."

Tong Tong's gratitude was sincere. Without Mu Jingyan, she couldn't have possibly stood here intact after such a chaotic day.

"I really appreciate it, uncle. If there's anything you need from me in the future, just say the word, and I definitely..."

Mu Jingyan: "Now."

"Huh?" Tong Tong was perplexed, "What do you mean 'now'?"

Mu Jingyan led her towards the civil affairs office.

"There's something I need from you right now."

When the two emerged from the inside, they each had a bright red marriage certificate in hand.

Mu Jingyan got straight into the car, while Tong Tong stood still on the spot, not moving.

Xiaoxun came down from the passenger side, handing her a card.

"Miss Tong, here's five hundred thousand, the password is today's date."

"Thank you."

Tong Tong took the card, her mind in a whirl.

She didn't know why Mu Jingyan wanted to marry her, but she had just made a condition upon agreeing to the marriage.

Mu Jingyan wanted to marry her, but he'd have to give her five hundred thousand yuan.

Five hundred thousand was the sum her grandmother needed for her treatment.

She felt it was outrageous to make such demands to a savior, but time didn't allow Tong Tong to think too much. She checked the location, grabbed her card in a hurry, and left on the bus.

Inside another car, watching Tong Tong board the bus, Xiaoxun spoke up, "Mr. Mu, the old lady is still waiting at home for the lady to return. You just let her go like this, what if the old lady thinks you lied to her?"

As the words settled, he quickly realized, "But we already have the marriage certificate, so I suppose the old lady won't say anything. Just about the lady, are you really not going to manage anything?"

Half of Mu Jingyan's face was concealed in the darkness, "Drive."

The black Maybach quickly disappeared at the end of the road.

Huaixi Hospital was a very famous hospital in Huaicheng, particularly skilled in treating comatose patients.

"Miss Tong, the surgical fees for your grandmother, the fifty thousand from yesterday is far from enough."

The middle-aged man in a white lab coat said this while his gaze swept up and down Tong Tong's body.

Cheng Kuan paused, "You've gathered the money? Where did you get it from?"

"I gathered the money myself. Why do you care?"

Tong Tong eyed Cheng Kuan with suspicion.

Cheng Kuan coughed twice, "Ah, nothing, I was just worried that you, as a student, might do something foolish to get the money. If you really can't, I can help you."

For some reason, Tong Tong always felt this doctor had ill intentions. She shook her head, "No need, I'm going to make the payment now."

Watching Tong Tong walk away, Cheng Kuan's eyes grew increasingly dangerous.

He secretly hid a syringe on his person and followed Tong Tong with a smile.

Tong Tong ran to several windows and finally managed to pay off her grandmother's outstanding medical bills; just as she was about to leave, Cheng Kuan suddenly called out to her.

"Tong Tong, you forgot to pay one more fee."

Tong Tong: "Another fee?"

Cheng Kuan: "Yes, come to my office. I'll print the bill for you."

Tong Tong, suspecting nothing, followed him into the office, "Doctor, I... Ah!"

Before she could finish, she felt a sudden pain in her arm.

Looking up in shock, Tong Tong saw Cheng Kuan staring at her fiercely, with a syringe in his hand quickly injecting her.

"What are you doing!"

Tong Tong tried to shake off Cheng Kuan, but suddenly her limbs went numb, and she couldn't muster any strength.

"Tong Tong, it must be exhausting taking care of your grandmother alone. If you follow me, I'll take good care of her for you!"

Tong Tong felt her world collapsing. Why had she been encountering these situations these past few days!

She roared, "Have you gone mad!? You're married, how can you do this to your wife?!"

The drug acted quickly, and soon Tong Tong couldn't move at all; she could only try to warn Cheng Kuan with her words.

Cheng Kuan snorted and turned to set up a camera, thinking that once he had some leverage, he wouldn't worry about controlling Tong Tong in the future.

"Do you think I'd care about that? Just be good and follow me!"

Cheng Kuan pressed the camera's power button and pounced with a vicious smile.
