19 [Bonus chapter] The Will

Marcella couldn't feel guilty any longer as she saw one of Mark's men trying to take a shot at her.

"Ah!" she pointed her gun at Mark. "You really want to kill your boss, don't you?" she smirked.

"Ahhhh!" Magdalene shouted again and threw a flower vase at her. "Get lost! Don't show your face here ever again!"

Marcella stepped aside avoiding the vase.

"Why would I not show my face?" Marcella looked at Magdalene while the gun was pointed at Mark. "I will come here often to visit my nephew," she said.

She was always nice to the Romano family because her sister was married to them but they cannot treat her like trash over and over again.

"Your nephew? Have you no shame?" Magdalene stormed down the stairs. She was not afraid of the gun anymore. Her entire face was twitching with anger and she raised her hand to slap Marcella.

"How dare you still think you can call him your nephew after murdering his parents? You knew something was wrong. You told Mrs. Murphy that much. And then you hid when you learned your wretched life is what those thugs wanted. You are responsible for my son's death! You will never get anywhere near our grandson!"

Marcella's heart sank upon hearing those hurtful words. "I was not hiding. I was held by the cops. Will you tell me what happened, please?" she asked.

She wanted to know what happened to her sister.

Magdalene scoffed. "You killed them and now you're pretending to care?"

Marcella was annoyed by her constant accusation. "Please, refrain from accusing me of something I had no control over. I understand you are grieving. I lost my sister too. I too am grieving. We are family. You cannot forbid me from being a part of Mellissa's son's life. Mellissa would never~"

"Mellissa is dead!" Magdalene shouted. There was no trace of the lady-like demeanor she always donned. In the black dress and her puffed eyes, Marcella only saw hatred and disgust. "Family? We are not family. You can join your sister for all we care. You will not have access to our grandson. We are fit to raise our grandson. We will see to it legally. Get out of the house. I don't want to see you ever again."

Marcella pressed her lips. She's been hearing from a lot of people who want her dead. It hurt her to hear Magdalene telling her to die to her face. What has she ever done to warrant such hatred? Is she not grieving too?

And how can they forbid her from seeing her nephew?

"You're being cruel, Mrs. Romano," Marcella said. "This is not fair."

Magdalene looked at Marcella with contempt. "Mark, throw her out," Magdalene said and go up the stairs.

Marcella pointed her gun at Mark. She couldn't believe that she had lost all her family. She didn't want to give up. She can fight her way up and take her nephew from them. Her nephew won't be raised the way her sister wanted to raise her son. The Romanos will ruin his life by teaching him hatred.

I will not let that happen!

"Bring my nephew to me, or Mark dies!" she said. There was no tremble in her hand as she had decided on it. She will find a way to raise her nephew. She will not lose him too. He's the last of her family. Other than him, she had no one else.

"Easy there…" Mark slowly approached her.

*Bang*

Marcella shot Mark's arm. It was just a flesh wound and Mark winced in pain. "I am not bluffing. Bring me Joseph or else Mark dies!"

Everyone in the room got anxious and pointed their guns at Marcella. They looked at Mark for his command. Mark told them to lower their gun.

"What's the commotion here?"

A bell-like voice rang in the room.

Marcella turned to look at the man who entered the room. The man holding the briefcase and wearing a tailored suit was none other than their family lawyer.

Karl Benjamin.

Karl was the lawyer who argued in court for her father and helped him not get convicted. He was also her mother's cousin and was very close to the DeAngelo family. She respected him.

What is he doing here?

"Miss Marcella DeAngelo, lower your gun. Be more prudish," Karl spoke in an authoritative tone of a loving elder. His rebuking tone assured her.

"Mr. Benjamin…" Magdalene walked to him with a big smile. "You're here at the right moment. I want to talk about how rude this woman is~"

"Mrs. Romano," Karl Benjamin interjected her. "I am here to talk about Mrs. & Mr. Andrew Romano's last will and testament."

Marcella smirked. She could see Maggie's face going pale.

So, there is a will! Thank goodness!

"My son never mentioned a will to~"

"Bambi!" Karl's sharp eyes ended up on Marcella. He ignored Maggie altogether.

Only after seeing his stare did Marcella realize that she was still pointing the gun. She lowered it immediately.

"The Will will be read in the old DeAngelo residence tomorrow at 10 A.M. I request the presence of Miss DeAngelo along with Mrs. and Mr. Paul Romano," Karl said in a professional tone.

"She is in the will?" Maggie questioned.

"Yes," Karl answered. "I will take my leave."

He walked out just like he walked in—as a breeze.

"Uncle Karl," Marcella ran behind him.
