126 Heartbreak and Wine

The clock struck twelve and Zuni was still sitting in the same place, staring at her watch. She was looking tired and the initial smile on her face had long faded. It seemed like she was on the verge of tears but since she was not good with it, she was trying to act nonchalant. However, she looked very pitiful at this moment.

A server approached her and said, "Madam, it's time for us to close."

Zuni blinked at him and nodded her head. She looked at the empty restaurant once again. She smiled bitterly.

He didn't come. She didn't know what was the reason behind it. She tried calling him but his number was switched off. No matter how busy he might be, he could have just left her a text message, right? She would have understood that he was occupied with something urgent.
