Chapter-9: Black fire

After a few hours, Ali-X1 was floating above a city.

Bhram was looking at floating buildings, flying objects, and even a few people that looked like Adam through the window.

But what caught his attention was a human with fair skin, black hair, and an object that looked like a gun in his arms. He didn't have any armor, but Bhram could see air vibrations around him as if the air or gas was flowing out of his body like steam from water.

The human flew towards the orb and said

"Identification"

Phillip took out his ID and placed it at the corner of the window and Said "Lieutenant. Phillip from the 3rd division of the Imperial Court's Exploration Department"

The human started floating towards the window and said "Purpose of visit"

"To meet Manager Clark from the Library," said Phillip.

The human turned his head towards the city walls and called for one of the people walking near the city gates.

"Captain take them to the library" said the human as he flew towards another flying object.

A person near the gate heard it, and he bent his knees and jumped toward the Orb.

Bhram was startled at this sight, the orb was close to 500 meters above ground, but this human could reach it with almost no difficulty.

The Captain reached the ord in a few seconds and started floating in the air and he said

"Please follow me"

Then he started walking in mid-air towards a light screen that was covering the entire city.

While following behind the captain, Bhram noticed a scene which he will never forget.

The city which he saw from the outside was just an illusion and what was actually present was ruined city buildings and corpses filling the entire road.

There were many burnt-out buildings and some kind of machines were moving out the rubles, a particular building was covered in black flames.

This flame looked like it was alive and was consuming everything in its path, some humans were pouring some kind of light beams onto the building covered in black flames.

It had little effect on the flame, Phillip exclaimed.

"Ah!, the hellfire"

Phillip blurred out from inside the orb and approached the captain.

"Sir, What happened?" asked Phillip still trembling mid-air.

"Hmm… those idiots from the Science department were doing some sort of research on the tomb of a so-called 'First Human empire' and they somehow triggered a trap and this is the aftermath… To control that thing we have even called out to the HQ of human cultivation, it even killed a few sages…" said the captain with dread.

"From the looks of it, you seem to know something about it," said the captain with a hint of curiosity. Looking at the flame, Phillip started explaining a 'Myth' he had read from a very distant past.

It was said that 100 million eons ago humans were a very powerful civilization and had multiple domains under their belt, and it was lead by an empire called the 'Supreme Gods'.

And the so-called 'BLUE EMPEROR' was the ancestor of all humans and the 'Hell Fire' was a gift from his uncle the 'Ancestor of Heat and Destruction'.

"Ehh.. 'Supreme Gods'? Is this related with those golden gooses, who claim to be related to Gods and refuse to admit that they are humans?" asked the Captain as his face started twitching.

"Yes, If they get involved they will try to complicate things and maybe even try to occupy this city," said Phillip with a grim look on his face.

After thinking for a few minutes, the Captain said "Sir, Please head towards the library. I need to report it to the mayor or else if those fools come by they will cause a big scene and it may even involve the other races getting involved"

The captain explained and was about to leave when he saw an old man approaching them at a high speed.

In a few seconds, he stood before Phillip and the captain and said "Well if it isn't the imperial mad dog".
