Chapter-16: Mortal Librarian?

The duo were shocked when they felt no aura from 'Bhram.'

They initially thought that he was a master and was disguising as a mortal, they had felt it was a norm for a 'Manager' of a library to maintain this type of mystery.

After a brief pause, the 'Duo' looked at each other and felt a huge relief. As they were previously discussing a few things in a relatively low tone and it would usually be very difficult to hear their conversation.

"Ah... Sir, thank you for your hospitality. But, we will take our leave now our master has given us a task to fulfill within a given timeframe. We are really sorry to disturb your peace during your meal" said the middle-aged man as he was ready to leave the Cafe.

"Yeah, Yeah. Sure, please go ahead... I'm sure your 'Mark Family' is in desperate need of the 'Alchemy' Book" said Bhram and thought 'Shit!, you fuck head they were about to leave. Why did you fuck it up now.'

The duo looked star-struck and their knees started trembling, they almost felt their heart leap out of their thought.

Immediately the duo buckled their knee and shouted "We are really sorry, Sir. We we.. we were just desperate and didn't mean those words, kindly forgive us for our loose tongue" said the Duo in a trembling voice.

This sort of shout immediately gathered the crowd's attention.

"Hey, is that the 'Pharma' guys from the 'Matts' household"

"Yeah, they are but why are they kneeling to that kid? He looks like a mortal"

"You fool, look at his arm the symbol is in 'Gold'. I think he is an Office staff of the 'Library' and I have seen a few Café staff members being very polite to him while serving his meals"

"Oh!!, but why are those two kneelings"

"Who knows maybe they offended him?"

"Only an idiot will offend a 'Library' staff with a golden 'Symbol' even if they are from the 'Hub City' they will still need to play a role of a 'Chicken' if they enter the 'Imperial Courts' Domain"

"Yeah, Yeah,… even if they are 'Pharmacists' of the 'Mark' house they will have to pay in blood if the offense a staff member"

"And look, it looks like that guy is playing with his pray. I'm a Level-2 and I couldn't science that guy's level, and for a human, he looks a little young, and to have a Level above mine is 'Close' to that protégé of the old human civilization."

Slowly the crowd started to gather and even the Café staff seem to stop serving the food and leaned in on the gossip.

Bhram heard most of the things spoken by the people in the crowd and thought.

'Wow, these people have no jobs. What level-2? And what young? I'm almost 30. Why the fuck did these guys even approach me? Didn't they just come for an 'Alchemy Book'? and Why did they freak out at the mention of 'Alchemy Book'? Is it like a Taboo book?'

While Bhram was stunned by the events, the Duo also quickly realized their mistake.

They had previously thought of leaving the 'Café' and the 'library inconspicuously, but the thought of the library staff eavesdropping on their conversation had instilled a primal fear into them and they couldn't help but kneel and apologize.

The duo looked at the crowd and then at Bhram, who looked as if 'This event has nothing to do with me.'

"Ah.. Mr. Bhram, sorry to say this can we change the venue a little and have a private conversation and settle our matter" said Matt.

He had felt that, if this matter blew up a little more then his 'Household' may also get involved. So, he had planned to pay a 'Hefty Compensation' to try and cover up the conversation he had with Sharl.

When they saw the crowd was slowly getting bigger, they became more anxious as they didn't receive any response from Bhram event after a couple of minutes.

Just as they were getting more anxious they heard his reply "Yes, Yes,.. I feel that this place is getting a little crowded for my comfort, Let's go near the 'Park." Said Bhram as he picked up his 'Tray.'

The duo quickly followed, the crowd looked at them leave and felt like they might have missed a good show.

The king's library was huge and it occupied a few hundred acres of landmass only for hosting buildings and several square kilometers of land to hoist the greens.

There were several floating gardens in the library and one of the most beautiful ones were called the 'Park' it was strictly meant for office staff and very rarely it had also been hoisted as a meeting place for several VIPs.

The 'Park' was located behind the 'Café' and it was guarded by 2 black stone statues about 100 ft in height, holding a broad sword made of some metal these statues looked like they were carved by 'stone age men.'

The 'Parks' entry gate was made of pure energy and didn't have any trace of metal, it was a 'Greenlight' screen projecting an image of a 'Sea horse' with a trident held beside it.

As Bhram and the duo approached the 'Parks' entrance the 2 stone statue's eyes sockets started glowing 'gray' and they heard a rumbling sound.
