Dao Is Unfathomable
Gotta say, I’m definitely a little disappointed given my high hopes. I really enjoy these sort of stories and feel like this one has a lot of potential but there’s so many plot holes, even in the beginning and I really just couldn’t get into it no matter how far I pushed myself to keep reading. The characters are meh, the story in the beginning is okay but still not that great, and doesn’t really improve over time as a whole and it’s just... disappointing really. Translations good and stability is good tho.
Nothing is explained in this novel. How did he become a master chef? What was the point of his injuries if they didn't affect him at all? Where is all the meat coming from when he only caught 2 animals and caught nothing most days? Why are the normal ingredients he got so tasty? It has so many plot holes that makes it unbearable to read.
This series had huge potential. I love fishing so any story involving it will attract attention. The story starts out as the MC tries to make a life for himself by using his spoils from fishing the various world. It was fun and interesting! But around chapter 150, the author starts to go all Wuxia novels, then he adds political views, and then he tops it off by adding racism... This is when it all falls apart. Such a pity, this could have been great had the author continued on his original path...
A good and laid back cultivation novel, that is well written, and interesting to read. It might take a couple of chapters to get immersed into it, but it’s worth the read. It doesn’t have the typical and repetetive fights with arrogant young masters etc, but does a good styaing innovative. The update rate is horrendous though, it does say 7/chapters a week, but it’s rarely more than 2 or 3, and there are often periods of silence (no chapters) as well.
I really enjoy reading fishing the myriad heavens but, it is only a good novel if you are bored. Yes, it is funny and all and the MC is lucky, well that is not what I am searching for in a novel so far. What I am searching for is a MC with a lot of ambitions and resolution, that is what makes your blood boil. The MC is lacking all of them. It is better to read it not too seriously. So that's why I rate 4 stars instead of 3.5 stars cuz of the author and translators.
