Serious talk
Next morning Rachel woke up with very bad head ache and went to take shower she loved Vanessa's little outer house. It was very private from host family's house and they had access to pool from back door. Venessa was making some pancake and eggs when Rachel entered the living room. Venessa said Rachel.
"What" replied Venessa. "Why do I get always get drunk among us while you girls are like nothing ? And we all had same amount of drink." Venessa laughed and replied "first of all you had 3 extra shots than all of us and now don't say how, you always still our shots and second of all of us were drunk not as crazy as you though." Haha very funny said Rachel in a sarcastic way. I am going to take shower and enters the bathroom while Venessa set up a breakfast in a table for them both. After Rachel came out from shower both ate their breakfast. "Hey Rach do you want to go swimming ? " asked Venessa changing to her bathing suit it was very nice and warm sunny day outside. " No, I can't I have to go back home. I have assignment due this week, which I am planing to do today." Replied Rachel. Trying to gather her stuff. " well let me drop you then you don't have car today." Said Vanessa grabbing her key. Rachel said "it's ok, don't worry about it. I will take Uber, you go swimming." Rachel order Uber while Venessa prepare herself for a swim. After Uber arrives, Rachel left saying "see you in campus tomorrow."
Derek on the other hand, had a very cranky morning after lots up waking up at night. Few days before his dad said "we need to have a serious talk son." So that serious talk was going to be actually today since his dad spends Sunday with his family. Derek was not ready for a serious talk with his dad. Well, Derek had a rather complicated family. His parents were divorced. For more detail, his mother cheated his dad with one of his client. Derek's father Mr. Edward walker is a very famous Lawyer who has his own law firm in Manhattan city with more than 100 lawyers working for him with more than 500 companies as his client. But even with such a big reputation and 15 years of long marriage he saw his wife sleeping with one of his client who also happened to be his close friend. It was very hard for Edward to process the whole situation. so he divorced Dina and gave Derek choice to pick either mommy or daddy. Derek was so confused at that time even to understand why his mom did what she did to hurt his father. He chose his father and never had a contact with his mom after that till few months back. She came to meet him 2 months ago in his apartment in Boston. Derek told his father about Juli's visit to his apartment and he has nothing to do with it, except that she broke his heart one more time. So the serious talk is all Derek want to avoid right now with his dad. Luckily, because of money and fame or let's say luck Derek's father remarried 10 years ago with this kind and beautiful women Diana and they have another 2 kids 9 year old boy and 7 years old girl. Jacob and sally. Those 2 munchkins are Derek's life line. After Daina came into Derek's and Edwards life, everything has changed. Their mansion seems to have bloomed again, With so much love. Derek calls Diana Mom even though she is not his biological mother and he thinks she deserve the title because she does treat him as her first child. So with everything going on, his mind been quite occupied with dilemma except last night. He had so much fun even though it was only for few hours he forget all this worries and pain.
Derek came out from shower he saw a little girl sitting in his bed trying to be bossy folding her arms and not quite happy. Little sally says " Derek you were supposed to take us to the movie last night and you didn't. I am very mad right now. We need to have a serious talk." Standing on the bed and pointing finger at Derek. Derek has a big smile in his face seeing this tiny heart of his getting mad at him. " ok seems like everyone wants to have a serious talk with me today." Come here my spider let's have some serious talk while eating something." Ok what about blueberry and M&M's pancake." shouts sally in excitement. "I thought you already had your breakfast." Replied Derek. Sally in her defense says "yes a tiny bit of cereal with milk Maria gave me (Maria is their maid) and it was very yakky. I want pancake you make, the best one. Please please please. Jumping in Derek's arm. Sally gave a sweet kiss in Derek's cheek. Who can say no to this now. Derek's carries sally in his arm and goes downstairs.
In kitchen he saw Maria doing something. While mom and dad listening to Jacob with his science project. Jacob runs to Derek when he saw him and says "I missed you Derek, I have a science project Tuesday and soccer game next Saturday and you have to come in both ok." While hugging him, again who could say to these little monsters. Derek shook his head in approval and said " of course I will come to all of your activity. In fact I will take u to the game in my car next Saturday." With that word Jacob had a huge smile in his face and went back to dinning table to continue what he was saying to his parents. Sally shouts saying " Derek is making me a pancake." Jacob joins her and "says I want some too." "Me too" added Diana. While his dad Edward said nothing except sipping his coffee.
After finishing making pancake they all sat in the dinning table in the kitchen. Derek was about to drink his coffee his dad said "so you finished your masters last semester and it's been 3 months already, I believe you finished your project with Anderson group too. Now what's the point of staying in Boston anymore. Moreover, I need you here. Rent your apartment in Boston and move back with us." Dad says Derek, "I am not moving back here, I am almost 26 now and I am not in mood to move back to my parents how."
Listening to what Derek said, sally and Jacob was sad and even Diana. Just to stop tension between dad and son Diana added, " how about you stay with us for few months so that's kids can enjoy your company here, you know how much they love you and it's been 6 months since your last visit and also you need to take charge of dad's company he acquired camsoft last year. Your dad is getting older and he is not able to run both company with his own and I will look for a apartment for you in Manhattan, so you can move to your new apartment in NYC and come visit us often." Derek admires Diana and cannot oppose for her and looking at his little brother and sister excitement he agreed but he said he will have to go back to Boston next week and finish everything there with his previous work, even though his project is already over he wants to say final goodbye to all his colleagues and rent his apartment in Boston that his father bought him when he came to study in MIT. His dad almost got angry and was about to say something when Diana stopped him holding his hand and looking at Derek " sounds like a plan to me. Let me know your preference for your new place and I will contact realtor next month." With that last conversation ending.everyone dispersed. While kids and Derek went towards the pool. There is where Derek saw Venessa. He treats Venessa as his younger sister and loves her dearly because Venessa is the best babysitter for his younger brother and sister. She takes care of them so much. So in return Derek is very close to Venessa. Not only Derek but whole family is very close to Venessa and treat her as their family member. Looking at Venessa evil smiling face Derek gave her angry face and whispered," let's not talk about yesterday ever ok".
Venessa laughed and said "lol okey but ..."
"no buts or ifs or anything, nothing that's final" said Derek sitting on the lay he chair by the pool and looking at little guys swiming with Venessa.
On the other side of the town few miles away, Rachel was already in her room. No one was at the house since kids went to their dad's house and her host mom must have gone somewhere with her friends. She took out the phone to call her own parents that she does every weekend. Her mom answers the call and they talked everything that happened in the passed week like updating their life's. Rachel parents are very low profile family that lives in Northern California in Bakersfield with their own farm and vineyard. Rachel wanted to enjoy her life and freedom so she selected school on the other side of the country. Her parents was not really happy about her choice but they finally gave up for her happiness. She has 4 other siblings 2 sisters and 2 bothers. She is the third child of her parents. She has 2 younger sibling and 2 older. They all live with her parents. Her older sister is married to a police officer and her older brother work with her father taking care of their farm, vineyard and cattle. Other 2 younger sibling goes to private School in Bakersfield. That's is all about Rachel's family because she is very private when it comes to family matter and all Venessa and her other friends know is she wanted her freedom away from her family and is not studying in Long Island university as a babysitter as her side job. Well that's all everyone knows about her.
After her call with her mom and getting update of everything. She opens her laptop to finish her assignment. She spends few hours in her laptop without realizing the time and she hears a notice coming from the door and she knew kids are back home. Emily and Jonah shouted "Rachel you want to hear about our vacation we had in great wolf this weekend we went with our dad." Ok nodded Rachel and she spends whole evening with kids reading books, playing games and listening to their fun weekend they had until it was bed time and everyone went to sleep.
