Prologue
/"Zana wait please/" Micah said as he tried to grab her hand which she withdrew at the contact of his hand.
/"What do you want Micah? Do I need to shout it from the rooftop? It is over between us, I'm getting married, why can't you stick that in your head?/" A beautiful lady about twenty five years old, with short brown hair and brown eyes, an oval face and sexy lips said.
/"No Zana, you can't do this to me, you're going to throw everything away like that? Everything we shared?/" Micah asked.
/"Micah, whatever we shared before is in the past, I am sorry if I didn't tell you earlier but I have been seeing Jacob since last year, I'm sorry if I cheated on you with him, but he is what I want and I'm already engaged to him, what you are asking for is impossible okay, now if you don't stop stalking me, I'm going to get a restraining order for you/" Zana said and turned to walk away.
/"So six years is nothing to you? You are my first love Zana. You can't just end everything at your own convenience, I am a being, I feel this pain, all my life I have thought and dreamt about us together and you're just going to walk away like that?/" He asked and she turned to look at him.
/"Six years of my life I have given to you, is that not enough? What else do you want from me, to suck your toes?/" She asked.
/"I love you Zana, I have always done, from college to now, can't you consider my feelings?/" He asked, Zana wanted to say something but her phone suddenly rang, looking at the caller ID, a beautiful smile appeared on her face.
/"Yes love?/" She said into the phone /"not really, I'm actually on my way to your office/" /"yea okay, I will get it for you,/" /"yea okay bye, love you/" she put the cell phone into her hand bag and turned to look at Micah whose face looked pained.
/"You love him already?/" He asked and she rolled her eyes.
/"If I don't love him, then why I'm I marrying him? Micah stop this nonsense, for carrying out loud you an adult, you are going to be twenty eight soon and you are here acting like a school boy, don't you understand what it means by over?/" She asked while shaking her head /"listen, I just got a call from my fiancé, he is waiting for me to bring his lunch, so please excuse me/" she said and walked away, Micah followed her to the parking lot, she got to her car and turned to face him.
/"I mean what I say, if you keep stalking me like this, I'm going to get a restraining order for you and I mean it/" she said before getting into her car and driving off without batting an eye lid.
Micah stared after her car, he can't believe things is ending like that between them, they had started dating from his first year in college, she was still in high school then, they met at a playground and had hit it off from there, she was later accepted in his school and that was when their relationship skyrocketed, they had been together since then, everybody knows them, even his mother had started addressing her as her daughter in law, who knew this would happen, a competitor in business not only fight for contract with him but also stole his girl, he just can't believe it, everything was like a movie, but what can he do since the girl in question don't even wants to see him.
He sighed and walked to his car, this was not him, he is not a stalker but what would you do should you find out that the relationship you have been nursing for six years was about to slip out of your hand? His parents had been angry with him since they found out that he had lowered himself to a stalker, even his adopted elder brother, Mac, was also angry, why? This is because Micah is a dignified man, respected everywhere and had an excellent brain in business, but this stalking of a thing almost turned him into a beggar, he looked so haggard unlike his normal self, that is what annoys his family, but what can he do, the only woman he had love all his life is abandoning him, and what is worst is that he is still madly in love with her, she is his first love.
The board of directors of Steele empire was seen gathering in the conference room along with the board of directors of the Brown's Corp, they were to have a meeting, the Steele's received a contract and wanted a partner, the Brown's were the selected one, now they want to decide which company will be handling most of the work and also interacting with the investors.
Everybody was present including the CEO of the Brown's Corp, Mr. Jacob Brown, now they are waiting for the CEO of the Steele's Empire who happened to be late, suddenly the door to the conference room was opened and following it walked in a very tall man, a brunette with light blue eyes, a thin pink lips, a perfect nose, a very handsome man, he was dressed in a blue suit that seems to enhance his eyes, but looking at him, one can sense the strictness in him, he is indeed a very strict man, especially to girls, well everybody knows the reason it was so.
He walked straight to the sit reserved for him and sat down /"good morning/" he said and it was returned to him, /"today's meeting is going to be short, there is nothing much to discuss, so let's drop the flattering and go straight to business/" he said and everybody sat upright, well nobody is surprised he is acting like that, that is just the CEO of the Steele's Empire.
/"I will go straight to the point, the Steele's will get information and pass it the Brown's, they are expected to do what ever that is required from them, we need to carry this out as soon as possible, we have many more to do, we will contact the investors and then alert the Brown's, I think that's all that is needed, I also wants to know why we have to choose to have a meeting just to discuss this, I am a very busy man, I do not attend irrelevant meetings, this is just to pass this warning/" he said not caring who was there, the Steele's directors all nodded but not the Brown's.
/"Why does it have to be so? Why does the Steele's has to hold the upper hand?/" The CEO of the Brown's Corp, Mr. Jacob Brown asked and the CEO of the Steele's looked at him.
/"I don't think I need to answer that question do I?/" He asked and the director's looked at their boss, no need to annoy him, they wanted to say but Jacob was not ready to relent.
/"I hope this is not because of some personal reasons?/" Jacob asked and everybody went quiet, who doesn't know about the personal reason he talked about? It's not a news anymore to anyone, everybody knows that his wife is the six years girlfriend of the Steele's CEO, Micah stared at him.
/"I am a very busy man, I do not have enough time to worry about some personal issues, this is business and if Mr. Brown is not ready to leave it at that, he should please notify/" he said and turned to look at every director, /"it's going to be the way I just said and if the Brown's cannot take it, they are free to use the door/" he got up and left the room, while others stared after his back.
The Brown's were the #1 company in London before, not many a company challenges them, the one's who could was the Steele's but they can't since their CEO was having an emotional trauma then, it was not a mystery to everyone for they all knew that Jacob engaged his long time girlfriend in other to put his mind of business, it worked for him for all through his engagement, Micah was not participating in anything about business, he was busy trying to get back his girl which gave the Brown's a free way to rise to the top, but what everybody didn't know then was that six months after the Brown's wedding, that Micah Steele will return back to the business fiercely, he devoted all his time to his work, a once carefree and loving guy returned back a devil, if you can't do your job well, you are fired, that was his method and within a short period of time, he took all the contracts in the control of the Brown's, he was indeed very intelligent and he has an excellent business mind, the investors all gladly paid their compensation fee to the Brown's and went with the Steel, of cause everybody knows that where there is brain, there is bound to be more money.
To the surprise of all, the Steele's never fail in their words and each investor that work with them always returned with another, and in the period of six months, the Steele's Empire rose to the top, making them the #1 company in London, while the Brown's fell to the Second.
Micah became a workaholic after losing his loved one, he devoted all his time and energy to his company, at thirty years old, he has no serious relationship, that is because he hardly interact with women again, some said he was still going through pain, while others said he hate girls but the truth is that he has not gotten over Zana, he believed she left him to marry Jacob because his company was the leader, that was why he fought to get to the top, he finally got there but she did not return to him, and because of that, he shut out every being woman, he portrays a strict man, he build up a wall to keep the girls out, he acts like he doesn't need anyone, he is respected and feared by both his workers and outsiders, he is seen as the devil himself, but nobody knows that in the seclusion of his room at night, he cries for a love one, the girls always come but he finds it hard to open up, to let down his wall, but deep in his heart, he really wants to be loved. But which girl will approach the devil?
/"Let's eat out bee/" Jack Cage said, he is the hiring manager in the Steele's Empire and also Micah's only friend, a lot of the other staff envies his interaction with the big boss but none of them was able to muster up courage and talk to him like Jack does, he had failed to hire an employee that Micah acknowledged and that got him to be summoned to the big boss's office, everybody thought he had lost his job but unfortunately he came to work the next day, and not only did he keep his job, he was invited to have lunch in the boss's office by the boss himself, no body knew how he did it, but he had became the only worker that sits and dine with the boss.
Bee was the nickname that Jack gave Micah, he said it's because he works like a bee, Micah looked up from the document he was reading and smiled at him, Jack was the only one that he shows his weak side too, that was because Jack had seen through his wall the very first time he was summoned to his office
/"If you keep living like this, you will grow old quicker, not only that, you will also not have anyone beside you, if you keep thinking that you can survive alone and that you need nobody, you are going to regret it some day, a pain shared is a pain half healed, you need to let it out, to free up your heart, one day you are not going to get up from your bed simply because your heart is too heavy, I understand you might fire me now, but I must let you know that I deliberately did not hire that person because I want to see you, if I don't tell you this now, I don't know who else will, you are still a very young man, you need to let down your guard sometimes and let in new people, just because you were hurt the first, doesn't mean it will be like that the second, I will hand in my resignation letter this afternoon/" he had said and turned to leave
/"Wait/" Micah had said and he turned to look at him
/"Yes Boss?/" He asked
/"You are not fired, I will like to talk more with you/" he had said and they had became friends since then.
/"Let me finish going through this then we can go/" Micah said and Jack shook his head
/"No no no, we are leaving now, you can always do it when you get back, come on, rest your brain. You know I really pray you get a girlfriend soon, then I have to stop worrying about you/" Jack said as he closed the documents and Micah was putting on his suit jacket
/"Not happening/" Micah said and Jack looked at him shocked
/"What? For crying out loud, you are thirty, aren't you going to get married?/" He asked
/"I don't think so/" Micah said and Jack feigned hurt
/"You have to rest your mother's heart, give her grandchildren/" he said
/"I have an older brother you know, he has two kids already, so she has gotten grandchildren/" he said and Jack rolled his eyes
/"He is your adopted brother/" he said
/"A brother is a brother/" Micah said as he picked his car keys /"let's go/" he left and Jack followed after him whining.
