"Before we begin, can I offer you anything to drink? Water, tea, coffee?" Rodgers offered, but Mai shook her head.

"It's okay, please just ask whatever you need, and in turn I just hope you can answer some of my questions as well." Mai replied. "After all, I did hire you for a reason. I just never thought you would come to the conclusion I could have done it."

"Well, it doesn't really work like that, but I'm glad to see you're open to communication between the both of us. The reason I've come to you is because the evidence I've collected isn't exactly in your favor. So first, how about you tell me your version of events, so we can try and help you. What were you doing two months ago, specifically on the 18th of August, around 8PM onwards?" Rodger asked.
