Preparations And Human heroes

"My prince, our scouts have returned," said the ranger captain with a bow after she entered the command tent, where I was looking at the map of the town with Naesala, Sylvanas, and Sylianner, who was sulking again because we didn't attack the human town immediately.

"Speak," I ordered her.

"Yes, my prince. The human soldiers are undisciplined, untrained, and corrupt. Every night, all of the military personnel, from commanders to foot soldiers, spend their wages and the money they extort from the starving civilians on drinks and in whorehouses. Meanwhile, the baron turns a blind eye to all this and indulges himself in luxury. Their equipment is in bad condition since even the blacksmiths do their job half-heartedly when doing maintenance. Their cavalry is disbanded when the current baron is dissatisfied, and the watchers who stay on the castle walls do not leave their posts; they still get drunk and sometimes bring whores with them. They only have a dozen mages, and they are also weak since they do not receive any support from the baron. There are about a hundred priests, and the only healer is the head priest of the Balthazar church. The other priests are just regular humans with no magic," she said, then she moved towards the map and marked six places - three near the castle and three outside of the town.

"What is a whore house?" I asked the ranger captain, since elves didn't have such a thing.

"It's a place where human women sell their bodies in exchange for money or other valuables, Malgath," Naesala, who was now just calling me by my name, answered my question.

"Hmmm." I nodded my head to the ranger captain, beckoning her to continue.

"There are three secret underground tunnels under the castle, my prince. Here is the entrance of the first tunnel, and this is its exit," she said as she pointed to the west of the castle and outside of the town in the same direction. She did the same for the other two tunnels, which were located on the south and east sides of the castle with their exits in the same direction.

"We also found out a crucial piece of information, my prince. One of the ten human heroes, the tenth one, Red Sword, is currently inside the baron's castle, and that the end of the soucs reports my prince," the ranger captain said as she bowed.

"Scouts did a good job finding this much information in a limited time, but who are those ten human heroes?" I asked her since there was no such thing as ten human heroes when I was an elven guardian.

"Hm, hm." Sylianner nodded as she lay down on her stomach on top of my head while kicking her feet.

"They-" Sylvanas opened her mouth to explain but got cut off.

"They formed after the war of dominance," said a cold voice right behind me.

Holding the bridge of my nose, I turned around. "What are you doing here, Alleria?" I asked Alleria, who was behind me.

But instead of answering me, she gently held my collar and pulled me down, then tiptoed and kissed my lips.

"Ten human heroes are the most powerful humans of their generation, ranking from fourth to tenth place based on their strength, while first, second, and third are considered equal in strength," Alleria said, completely ignoring me as she cast a sidelong glance at Sylvanas, who was looking at her angrily.

"You leave and gather all of the captains," I said to the ranger captain.

"Alleria, with you here, all of the elven generals are outside of the city, and if the city receives an attack now, the consequences could be devastating," I asked Alleria as I looked into her ice blue eyes.

"Mother and the archon are in the elven city; you don't have to worry about anything," Alleria said.

"Haaaah... Whatever, tell me why the first three human heroes are considered equal in strength," I asked her.

"Beca-" but this time Alleria got interrupted.

"Because the first three human heroes are: Swords Emperor, representing the pinnacle of human strength; Archmage, representing the pinnacle of human magic; and Saint of Light, representing the pinnacle of human will." Sylvanas said proudly while looking at Alleria smugly.

"How strong are they?" I asked.

"I can take Sword Emperor and maybe Mad Berserker and Gentle Sword in a battle by myself, but if any other of the heroes join, I would lose," Naesala said, puffing her chest.

"I can destroy the human archmage with a flick of my hand," Lyrei said as her voice echoed throughout the entire tenth.

"..."a silence enveloped the tenth as everyone began to look around to find where the voice came from.

"By the goddess's sweet nectar... sigh," I said as I let out a sigh and looked around the tenth. I saw a black butterfly with glass wings.

This butterfly was Lyrie's spirit form or how she showed herself to the public, with the exception of the royal family, since most of the elves only know her title, not her appearance.

"At least you won't be able to interfere since you are here in your spirit form," I said as the butterfly landed on my nose.

"Hoooo, look at this little elf. To think she would be able to become this strong with only magic. Impressive! Rejoice, little girl. Elvy, you have my permission to breed her," Sylianner said as she looked at the butterfly.

"Do not die, prince," Lyrie said, ignoring Sylianner as the butterfly shattered like glass and disappeared while her emotionless voice echoed in the tenth.

"Do any of you have any information about them? Keep it brief for now, and skip the first three since Sylvanas already spoke about them," I said to Alleria while completely ignoring what just happened.

"Fourth human hero, Swift Wind, is an archer who is said to be able to pierce a mountain with her bow. Fifth human hero, Phoenix, is a mage who specializes in fire magic, and his fire is said to be equal to that of a dragon. Sixth human hero, Mad Berserker, is a warrior who specializes in two-handed weapons. Seventh human hero, Shadow Stalker, is a rogue who specializes in stealth and assassination. Eighth human hero, Angel of Dawn, is a priest with a high affinity for light and is said to be the next saint of light. Ninth human hero, Gentle Sword, is a warrior who specializes in one-handed weapons. Tenth human hero, Red Sword, is a magic swordmaster who uses short swords and specializes in fire magic." Alleria said everything in a single breath.

'Never once in my life have I heard her speak this much,'I thought as I looked at Alleria's ever stoic face.

"By the goddess, I have never once in my life heard her speak this much. It's probably because it's you, Merwa. If it were anyone else, she would have either sent one of her scouts or just thrown the parchment containing information on their faces," Sylvanas said as she also looked at Alleria.

Just then, the captain of the army's forces came into the tent.

"My prince," the ranger captain said as she bowed.

"Enter," I said as they entered the tent, then bowed to Sylvanas, Alleria, and Naesala.

"We will attack tomorrow at midnight, when their soldiers are most relaxed. When the sun goes down and the moon shines, the sorcerers will first cast a spell to block the moon's light to give us an element of surprise when attacking them."

"Yes, my prince," the sorcerer captain said.

"Do not interrupt me," I said coldly as the sorcerer captain shuddered.

"While human soldiers and watchers are incompetent drunkards, we can't take any risks. Scouts will sneak into the walls and kill the watchers first. After that, mages will use levitation to carry the army into the city. Knights will move with me to kill soldiers, while rangers will move from rooftops and take advantage of the high ground to hunt humans. While we are killing humans, scouts will accompany mages to put a barrier around the town to prevent any of the humans from escaping and support the ones inside with long-range spells if needed. If you encounter the human hero, do not engage in battle but run towards me. If you have any questions, don't ask," I said, then refused to elaborate further and left.
