CHAPTER 26 History Lessons

After the little history lesson, I have a lot to think about. Everything Berion told me adds to what I was told by Glaciel that day on the balcony. Everything came back to her mother and Chase's father. Why would the old King force his son to take a chosen mate, when his own was a dragon and came, however, cast out, from an old line of wealthy and noble dragons? It made zero sense, as they had been pardoned and given back their old titles, money, and land, when Callus accented the throne, securing his original mate and her family's former glory. It was all very suspicious to me.
As I'm sitting in the bathtub scrubbing down to look my best for dinner, I think back to the conversation between Berion and me after Blaze left to cool off by the lake. He wanted to be alone, and I respected his request knowing I would want him to do it for me in such a situation.
"Berion, what was Chase's mother's name?" The old dragon looks taken slightly aback by my question.
