12 Quirk Testing
Akiho started to concentrate on the flame on his hand which slowly got bigger and bigger. Losing himself in flames he didn't even notice how the fire was as big as himself.
The fresh green grass around him slowly dried out and slowly started to smoke.
"Oh fuck, not my beautiful lawn!"
Smelling the burning smell, Akiho woke up from his daydream and shouted like an old grandpa on the porch.
"Sigh, mom is right Quirks are not playing I have to pay attention in the future!"
Looking at the ugly yellow patch, heavily sighted and recalled his mother's wisdom.
'But this little incident was enough to learn a lot of things...'
It seemed luckily he inherited his father's flame resistance instead of his mother's frost resistance. He once overheard his two older brothers talking so he knew that Toya could actually burn himself with his own quirk!
'Toya's will is really just something else!'
Even Akiho shivered from the thought of his power hurting him, not to mention a four-year-old kid.
Another strange thing he felt, was that he felt nothing...
"I didn't feel like my body was heating up!"
Akiho looked at his own body with wonder. Although he wasn't his father's favorite and his bond with his older brother was acquaintances at best, he still knew some things about his family's quirk history.
Like every family with a prominent quirk had done a lot of research on their quirks over the generations. Because even though with every generation there were some small changes in the quirk but the main features remained the same!
Like in the Todoroki family, for the past four generations, all the descendants had a fire quirk similar to the founder of the family.
'That's why heirs of bigger families learn to use their quirks quicker and easier...'
So Akiho already knew that overheating is one of the weaknesses of the family but for some reason, he didn't feel anything like that.
"Hmm, maybe my tolerance is just higher..."
He relit the flame in his hand and looked at it with increased interest.
"Ugh, whatever I'll just find out later! Let's try some moves now instead!"
In the end, Akiho scratched his head in annoyance and decide to write up the problem on the to-do list, to the annoyance of his future him.
'Hmmm...' He thought for a moment, deciding what to start with.
He suddenly opened his eyes, stood sideways, brought his two hands up to the level of his chest then lifted his left leg. For an outsider... probably for an insider too, he looked ridiculous.
Akiho breathed in the air deeply then brought back his right hand with the fireball in it.
And while slamming down his left foot he threw the fireball away with all the strength he could muster.
[A/n: I don't know baseball, I wrote this while looking at a picture of a guy in a throwing pose...]
"I thought it would be faster..."
Looking at the flying fireball Akiho frowned a little because for him the ball seemed slow. But if anybody would be here they would be surely amazed after all the fireball was flying faster than 40m/s. Which is from a four years old with no previous experience was a miracle! Or at least would be a miracle in Akiho's old world...
"Hmm, what a disappointment!"
Akiho thought as he looked at the fireball quickly dissipating until just 25 meters from him it completely disappeared!
"It wouldn't even hurt a slug like this!"
Scratching his head in disappointment Akiho started to think about how could he upgrade the deplorable attack.
After some thinking suddenly a good idea popped into his mind and without hesitation, he lit a flame in his hand and concentrated on it. But this time instead of making it bigger he tried to condense it.
At first, he struggled but after some time the flame slowly got brighter and stronger. The air distorted and became wavy around the fireball like on a hot summer day.
"Ugh!"
Akiho painfully groaned as he pumped more and more flames into the fireball but he didn't give up and just concentrated more.
"Wow!"
He wondered out loud after loud after he felt like he reached his maximum and opened his eyes. The previous fireball and this couldn't even be compared, the current fireball looked as if it wasn't made out of plasma but some hard material, Akiho could even feel the heat on his face. It was probably more than 1000 C° hot!
[A/n: Lava is around 1250 C°!]
Before he could lose his control over his creation Akiho quickly stood into a throwing stance again but this time adjusted a little correcting some of the mistakes he made the last time.
And threw the ball with full force!
The fireball was slightly faster than the last time and instead of dissipating it quickly reached the edge of the bamboo forest around 40 meters away!
*Boom!*
The fireball collided with a bigger bamboo and on impact instead of going through the bamboo, it blew up on the impact. Creating a big hot fireball for a moment and sending a small shock wave breaking the bamboo in half in a five-meter radius.
"Holly cow this shit was as strong as a fucking rocket launcher!"
Not caring about his ringing ear, Akiho stared at the explosion wide-eyed. But the explosion wasn't over yet because the torn bamboos suddenly caught on fire!
"Oh, fucking hell just let me be proud of myself for a minute!"
Luckily was prepared for something like this and brought a fire extinguisher with him.
*Pssch*
Not caring about the high temperature he grabbed the red container and walked in front of the flames and started to spray them with the white substances.
[A/n: Not that white substances! Boink!]
He worked fast after all he didn't want to take the second place after the gender reveal party, on the list of stupid reasons to start a forest fire!
"Huff-huff!"
Big drops of sweat rolled down on Akiho's forehead as he laid in the green grass, taking big breaths of air. After starting and preventing a potential forest fire he was quite exhausted...
"Let's continue practicing!"
But thanks to his enormous stamina he was able to stand up again as if nothing happened after some rest and a few sips of water from the pond.
"Hmm, next I should try something easier!"
He excitedly thought of the videos of his father easily desecrating armies of villains with a big torrent of fires.
"Okay, maybe desecration is a bit big world they definitely just slightly got burned, according to the government..."
Finishing the dark string of thoughts Akiho stretched out his hand and focused.
"Swisss"
From his outstretched hand, a big torrent of flames appeared like an overpowered flame thrower.
"Muhahaha!"
Losing himself in the moment, Akiho started to loudly laugh like an R-rated villain.
Suddenly like a lightning bolt out of the sky realization, Akiho looked down at the grass.
Or at least what remained...
"No, my beautiful comfortable lawn!"
He started at the charred black earth with nothing alive on it and cursed himself silently.
'Uncle Ben was right with great power comes great responsibility!'
Akiho silently vowed to himself in his heart to not hurt the innocent nature again!
"Although, this attack is weaker against single enemies but not bad against the mob!"
Analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of his attack, Akiho realized that his arsenal was still too small!
He didn't even have his ultimate move yet and what is a hero without an ultimate move?!
"Hmm, I should try that next..."
Akiho's eyes shined as a new idea popped into his head.
He stood into a running position and again as always he concentrated on his quirk.
After he felt like he is ready, he shot forward while igniting a flame on his back adding a big forward push like a rocket!
The result was truly shocking!
*Bumm*
After one step because the forward push was too big and he directly fall flat on his face. Cracking the earth, creating a big crater.
"Auch, auch, auch!"
Akiho quickly canceled his quirk, sat up, and started to search himself for serious injuries. Luckily besides a few nasty bruises, he didn't have a bigger problem.
"Why the fuck am I do things first and then do the thinking later?!"
He massaged his sore side and slowly stood up. He was really angry at himself! He knew clearly that you need a lot of control over your quirk to be able to boost yourself. But for some reason, he still did it head first without thinking!
"Maybe the quirk is affecting my personality...?"
Akiho eyes darkened as he suddenly remembered a book he read before about how quirk affect the personality of their user.
Worst, the user can't really feel or do anything about it, after all, it happens gradually, and if your personality changes you can't really do anything, after all your new thinking will be the 'normal' for you!
[A/n: I don't really know how to write down what I'm thinking but take for example Bakugo. Maybe he was a cute and innocent boy before getting his quirk... But when he got his quirk he slowly turned into the Bakugo we know today! Even if realizes how annoying he became and tries to go back to his supposed old self, he still probably won't be able to because of his short explosive temper and slight sadistic tendencies... Sorry for this long rambling but I couldn't find a way to write it into the story now.]
"I have to be cautious in the future!"
Akiho didn't really liked the idea of something influencing him without him knowing.
"Hmm, for some reason I still feel like I missing something..."
He put the problem in the back of his mind and again labeled it a 'future me problem'.
Looking around the clearing he frowned after seeing the destruction made by him. The fresh green grass was were full of patches of dark burned turf, and a small part of the bamboo forest was completely burned down.
But for some reason Akiho still felt like something was missing, he felt like this wasn't his full power, he was capable of much more!
"Now that I think about it, how could the blessing of a primordial deity just this much?!"
Concentrating on the feeling of absence Akiho suddenly gained an unexpected epiphany!
He slowly sat down crossed-legged and slowly closed his eyes!
