Cracks In The Family

It was hard for Ian to accept his new baby life for Ian first. But later more or less he got used to it besides his new name.

Even after a few months, he was still struggling with the name Akiho. But luckily nobody questioned him since he was still just a few months old baby.

In every reincarnation novel which Akiho read in his past life, the protagonists were bored when they were babies.

But he, actually really enjoyed the start of his new life besides a few 'small' problems. It was easy for him since he is the kind of person who could do nothing and still not get bored.

Besides, he had a cute big brother Natsuo and an energetic big sister whom he didn't like at first because of her cheeks obsession. But when he got older they found the same wavelength in their pranks. As for how he solved the problem of not knowing how to act as a baby.

He had a puffy-cheeked cute twin brother who was ready to help. And for some reason, Akiho really liked poking his brother's cheeks. Which for some reason he didn't appreciate.

'No, I becoming what I fought against!'

But sadly there were big problems in the family then the youngest child's developing obsession with cheeks.

The family was falling apart and its cause was the crazy, shithead of a father Endeavor.

Ever since Shota was born he became crazier and crazier. Akiho had only seen him a few times since his birth but every time they met, the man only looked at Shoto and loudly numbered the craziest shit Akiho ever heard.

'And I heard some crazy shit in cod voice chat.'

He was obsessed with being number one and how will Shoto who could only watch in fear, will be the strongest.

He even wanted to start training him when he was just six months old. But luckily our savior, mother stopped before he could ruin another kid's babyhood.

They had a big fight after which mother's face became colder and colder. She still took care of us but she was less gentle.

And Akiho could feel the craziness slowly creeping into her eyes. But Akiho hoped that his senses which usually were correct, are wrong this time.

'Talking about craziness I hope Toya is okay!'

Akiho knows that he can't do anything but he still felt bad for his oldest brother.

Ever since Toya was born he was told by Endeavor that he will be the best and the one who will defeat All might. However when his little brother was born everything changed.

His father cared less and less and sometimes didn't even look at him for weeks. Which, for a kid with an obsession whit his father was torturous.

Toya carved for his father's attention so much so that he was destroying himself with his own quirk while training.

Rei and Fuyumi tried to stop him however he didn't listen to anyone.

'Even Endeavor, who is a certified dick, tried to change his mind however he was far too gone!'

At one point he even lashed out with his quirk at mother who was holding me and Shoto in her hand.

'Luckily mother stopped the fire before he could burn us to a crisp.'

But from this incident forward mother's craziness started to show a little. And Toya's energetic and boisterous behavior turned more stoic. Though he apologized and Akiho even caught him once crying in frustration.

"What are you thinking about onii-chan?"

The now nine years old Fuyumi asked. While not forgetting to poke his little brother's cheeks.

"Nothing onee-chan, just thinking about new ways to poke onii-chan's cheeks!"

Waking up from his thoughts Akiho said innocently and sent a vicious look toward his twin brother. Who feeling strange for some reason, shivered and protectively put his little hands on his cheeks.

"I see comrade, I see..."

Fuyumi sagely nodded and looked at Shoto's chubby cheeks like a predator ready for the hunt.

"Hmm, how about you distract him while I sneak behind him?!" Akiho asked his sister without taking his eyes of his twin brother.

"Okay, but you have to let me do it as well!"

She thought for a minute and finally agreed.

"Deal"

The two shook hands and took action.

While Fuyumi walked to Shoto who was playing with Natsuo, Akiho slowly snuck behind his brother.

"Ah, hello onee-chan what do you need?"

Noticing his sister, Shoto cautiously asked.

"Ugh, my little brother doesn't love me anymore he doesn't even want to talk to me!"

Fuyumi put her hands on her chest and pretended of being hurt.

"No way, I love onee-chan just..." Shoto became flustered and tried to explain but he couldn't finish. Because Fuyumi motioned towards Akiho who already sneaked behind Shoto.

"Wahhh!"

Understanding the sign he gave out a war cry and jump onto his twin brother's back and started poking his soft round cheeks.

"Agh"

Not expecting the sudden weight Shoto fell onto the soft floor where he realized what was happening and tried to fight back.

"Me too, me too!"

Fuyumi excitedly shouted and joined the brawl.

"Leave me out of this!"

Natsuo tried to escape but in the end, he ended up on the floor as well.

"It's good that the four of you are enjoying yourself, but it's time for you to eat!"

Rei, who only arrived a few minutes later, said to the heavily panting children on the floor. With a camera in her hand and a rare smile on her face.

"Yes, okā-san!"

Akiho was the first one to gather his energy, said and poked his brother for the last time. And Shoto could only look at him in resentment messaging his sore face.

Slowly all four scrambled to their feet and followed their mother to the diner. Where already a table full of food waited for their arrival.

Rei, Shoto and Akiho sat on the right side of the table while Fuyumi and Natsuo sat on the left side. There was also an empty chair on the head of the table whereas traditionally the head of the house, Enji supposed to sit. But he rarely attended family dinners.

"Where is Toya?"

Fuyumi asked her mother after noticing an also empty chair on his left.

"He is still training."

Rei's hands holding the chopstick shook and her smile dropped. The mood in the room turned cold and silent again. Everyone in the room became a little sad and depressed.

"Haha I'm hungry let's eat!" Akiho said trying to change the topic.

"Of course, let's eat."

Rei quickly said and started to help her children. However, everyone's mood was still low.

"So how was school Onee-chan?"

Akiho asked while clumsily picking up rice with chopsticks.

"Oh, actually a bully in my school slipped on a banana peel and fell into a pond then..."

She told the story while giggling and in the end, everybody started to giggle except Akiho who just loudly gulped.

And slowly the mood became warm again and there was a smile on everybody's faces. Covering up the deep dark cracks in the family.
