Iima Haruhiro has been able to see curses since he was a child. He had seen firsthand what abominations they can inflict on humans. Despite his awareness of the curse-ridden world, he had chosen the path of inaction.

His peculiar ability, Fukai Fuan (Abiding Anxiety), gave Haruhiro the ability to manipulate shadows within the hearts of curses and humans alike. With only a little bit of touch, he could deplete the confidence of his opponents to zero in a second. He had the means to protect himself by implementing martial arts, but other than that, his ability is to support as a whole. These abilities failed to provide him with a discernible solution.
He had tried talking about the matter with those closest to him. But, as expected, his words fell on deaf ears. Nobody believed him, and gradually, he gave up hope of finding a listener. He even began to ignore those curse victims, numbing himself to the grim reality surrounding him.
