C8: The West Wind

Date: April 17, 2022- April 28, 2022

Time: 10: 34 am- 10: 00 pm

{Yun/ Xian Tian Hua}

Everything felt perfect but not so nice. This past months long preparation of autumn will coming to an end soon. And after that, the new season will be welcome in a gruesome scene. I'm sure that old ambitious man is going to make a move very soon.

The First Elder who looked down upon me for unable to see things and cultivate. He did many atrocious things behind and against the patriarch, my foster father's law and orders. He opposed every single idea my eldest brother, the new master of Sun Sect.

He snatched good and promising disciples during the Disciple Recruitment that happened last four months ago. He even started to amassing weapons and pills from others and collied with other Sects. Creating countless troubles for the sect.

We were here unable to do anything... for the mean time. The feud between the two sides became intense. Not long after, internal strife is happening...

The cold and chilly wind from southwest blown in the fields. It even reached my courtyard and brushed pass to my soft and smooth cheeks.

Chuang Yao told me that the sky was near from darkening. There will be chaos that going to happen soon. She advised me to be prepared for what may happened.

So it's not just me. I'm not hallucinating. She can also feel the dangers lurking around. I can hear from a very far distance the ominous sound and annoying buzzing noises though I'm not accurately sure what is that particular noises.

Too many things happened and hopefully I can still retain the life, second life given to me. A gift that needs to be cherish.

Truthfully, I don't want to be too foolish and stupid. That's too tiring. It brokes me too much in my past life. They said that the past should be different from future, not necessarily the same. And use the past to strive for a better future...

Just a short time, almost a year and a half month, I'm already feeling attached to this Sun Sect, the adopted family, the protective senior desciples, and a attentive servants. Well except for those that openly showing an opposition is quite troublesome.

If not for the patriarch and my brother's protection will I stil breathing here? Without Chuang Yao who always have my back, keeping me from troubles? Maybe not.

I'm too weak! Too weak to protect myself! Too weak to protect the people around me. Am I being too foolish again?

No! Stop it! I don't want to anymore. I longed for a change. I want to be a better person. Not someone who always needs protection, who rely on others...

Zhi hour (11 pm- 1 am). Midnight. The temperature outside is as cold as ever. Winter season is really just around the corner. Chilling wind blew inside one of Hua's opened window. It's deliberately done and prepared by her.

She have been feeling uneasy as today is most likely time they will going to execute their plans. She already guessed it a long time ago.

Four days ago, the patriarch even warned her not to go outside of her courtyard but she didn't listen not because she's stubborn in nature but for far more important matter. She continues sneaking unnoticeable with four personal maids helping her get ready.

Between every 3- 5 am dawn she disappears in their sight, not knowing where did she went. No one knows that she always practices on a small Southwest mountain, Mt. Shu Tai, during cold and almost freezing weather.

She stays underneath the waterfall every two hours. Fighting its great, heavy and strong pressure. Training while building up her body. Meditating and sharpening her hearing ability. Doing some basic brute techniques.

The waters falling fast and heavy washes Hua everytime but she came back time and time again until she finally able to becomes steady. And her endurance, resistance, hearing and strength doubles up every time she finishes her training sessions for two hours a day.

But today she feels like she can't come there anymore. So as a obedient person Hua stay put inside the sleeping room pretending to sleep and waiting patiently for the upcoming sudden attack.

Sure enough as Hua guessed, outside her courtyard, more than fifteen men in black clothing with demon themed mask and shrouded in dark aura and bloodlust appear. They quietly sneak inside but suddenly stop.

"Li, there's a f*cking annoying array here! I needed you to do what you're best at."

One of them curses as he immediately notices the protection array the patriarch put around Hua's courtyard. That is a type of seven grade high quality protection array that if triggers by an ill intention, the intruders below Grand master cultivators will all die. The array will release some kind of energy that'll stick to the intruder's body and just within less than seven seconds their body will explodes like fireworks, blood will splatter everywhere.

"The person that inside must be important to that old dying man to be overly protected like this. Tut... How unlucky of her to caught our master's eyes," it seems like he's the Li that one of them talks about.

He wears a fanged red mask matching his red bloody eyes. He have a jet black short and messy hair.

He takes out a yellow colored paper, a talisman paper, between his two layers of black clothing. He then draw a complicated inscription on a blank talisman paper, with his blood. He's an inscriptionist! The inscription they can make can enhance, empower, reduce or even destroy things or people. And from his ability to write a difficult inscription means that he might already been an inscriptionist of seventh or eighth masteral level.

"Of course Li! The one inside is the Lady miss, an adopted daughter of that stubborn old man who is known for her miraculous medical skills and alchemy knowledge. Though crippled and blind, I heard that she's a peerless beauty... I can't wait to see her!!!"

He's the same guy who noticed the protection array. His voice is full of excitement and admiration. He wore a white fox mask and his eyes shinning beautifully like a diamond in the sky. He have long blue ponytailed hair and seems like a playboy.

"Tss. You're interested in her aren't you?" Li is asking the obvious. Many people are interested in Hua. Be it because of her medical skills, alchemy or her beauty they are all the same, they admire and adore her like a goddess and that's not exception for that guy.

"Ok! Finally done!," Li smirks after he announce setting up as he sticks the last piece of seven talisman papers with incription arranged straight row in some invisible barrier.

"Heed my order! Step a few meters back!," Li's words act like a signal for the white fox masked guy. After hearing it, he immediately ordered around his quiet subbordinates to move away from the array which they follow without any hesitations.

After that, Li mumbles some incantation as his hands form a diamond shape hole dirrecting to the fourth inscription. The crimson bloody inscription glowed a bright red light so he back away fast.

"Cra... ck Clack... Creak... Blogsh!" The slow cracking sound of the protection array sounds out with a final shattering of glass like scene. The talisman paper got burned in the process.

"Tsk! That inscriptions cost me a lot of my precious blood! Hmph! I must ask master a great compensation after killing that little girl inside!," Li complains in frustration, feeling too resentful.

"We have to kill the Lady miss?," the white fox masked guy's voice tainted with shock, undetermination and hesitation.

"Yes, isn't that our mission... Why does you sounded somewhat unwilling and unhappy about it? Heh! Ge, don't tell me you're...," Li asked with his red scary eyes looking suspiciously at him, questioning his intention. So he's called Ge.

"No! I'm not! I just admire her and nothing more!," Ge immediately responds defensively while shaking his head vigorously and crossing his hands as if he knows what Li wants to say.

"Hehe... I just teased you a little and you already can't take it?... Hmph! You better not thinking of failing this important mission master entrusted to us just for the sake of that little girl," Li chuckles but his playful voice suddenly turned serious and cold, as if he's warning Ge.

"Of course. I swear, I wouldn't dare!," Ge assures Li. But the latter just scoffs at him.

They both forgo the matter and just focuse their attention to the mission. "Get ready to attack! On the count of three. One... Two... Three... Go!," Ge commanded. He just let his subbordinates charge without checking the surroundings. What a reckless mistake!

"Wait! Sto-," Li shouted in urgency. He saw a few shinning glint surrounding the place because the moonlight hits a metal. Unfortunately, he's too late.

That's why as soon as eight of them step further inside, it rained countless arrows! One, two, three... eight! All eight men in black clothing took the knock and they all fall down. Open wide eyes. They are all shock. The yard of Hua's inner couryard immediately stained in bloodshed.

"Wh- what the... Am... Ambush?!" Shock and surprise all shown on Ge's silver eyes. He almost hit by an arrow but he suddenly trips with his feet. So he somewhat dodged it. Don't know if it's a blessing or just a clumsy act.

Face fall flat in the cement, he still can't get over the shock. He's unprepared for this, very. He thought that it'll be an easy task to slaughter a disabled girl but he's wrong. It's just the beginning of the fight yet they already have eight people removed from their offensive party a total of eighteen! What a great loss!

"Heh! So the little girl was prepared! This mission will going to be exciting," Li said in amusement while easily slicing all the arrows in half that flying towards his direction. Who would expect that the little girl's side also plans something to counterattack. This won't be a struggle less fight.

{Yun/ Xian Tian Hua}

illing. If we talk about killing, I already done so in my past life but not in this current life. As much as I don't wish to do it but I can't, we can't! It's either you die or I die. So killing is inevitable.

"...Blogsh!" Loud exploding sound ranged to my ears. It seems like the battle is on. I get up from the bed fast and gives my shadow guard a thumbs up. "Sheng Chuang Yao! It's time! Fire the first wave!"

I don't know if she saw my hand signal from afar but it seems like she get it as I heard arrow's piercing sounds. "Swish swish swish..." Countless arrows were being fired out at the same time. The archers were my senior disciples given to me a year ago as bodyguards.

This whole three autumn months were used to prepare all things I can think of just to survive. I know that I can't get unscathe if I did nothing. As a woman who successfully creates a military army in my past life, I tried of creating an effective battle strategies I used in that life.

"They just strives forward the courtyard, young miss. They also deflected all our ambushes... I assume that you are they target," Chuang Yao calmly reported to me after her side successfully killed eight enemies.

"It seems like they are not afraid of us. Tell my senior disciples to prepare to engage in a fight. Bring them back here. Don't underestimate our enemy just because they reduce to almost half of their number. We just suprised them but that doesn't mean that they won't fight us to death," I instruct her.

"Yes, young miss," feeling proud, she replies. After she left my room, I immediately went to the my treasure room. Inside filled with countless clothes, jewelries, swords, daggers... various kind of treasures. In the first drawer, just beside the door, I remembered that there's a silver sword and dagger hairpins of sort here that I especially ask the patriarch to customize them.

Alone, who would thought that I still have time to dress up myself? Funny, we're already in this predicament yet I...

"They're here," I softly mumbles. I felt nervous and scared of the outcome. They'll might die or I might die. I wish to turned my back and escape here immediately. But I'm sure that there's no turning back.

"Lady Miss! Don't worry, we'll try our best to protect you! We just wish that whatever come in the way, please keep moving forward!," that's their last statement when a sharp object almost hits me but I immediately tilted my head towards the left side. Then "Thwang!" It hitted the wood besides me. I flinch at the sudden attack.

After that the door of my sleeping room burst open with great force. "Bang!" I felt uncomfortable at the great fluctuation from this killers in front of us. It's making me really scared and unable to keep my standing pose.

It's suffocating. My heart feels like going to explode from fast speed beating. I'm... I can't breathe properly. What's this feeling? It feels like I'm a pathetic weak and fragile bug that may squashes to death in front of a devils and demons.

"Enemies here! Protect the Lady Miss!" That is Fei Wan's a alerting voice. "Lady Miss are you alright? You're sweating furiously and looking pale," Chuang Yao asks me in worried tone.

I shakes my head and said," I'm alright! There's no need to worry about me! Just... Keep your focus on the fight to not get yourselves killed." I don't want them to split their focus in fighting others while worrying for me, I'm just distracting them.

"Looks at what we have here, how touching. But I'm sorry that today you're nearing to your grave," the annoying teasing tone of a man that felt like he enters the room from the window. I felt immense fear and cold shivering down my spine, warning me that this man is the most dangerous of all.

"As you might already know, we're here to kill you and offer your pretty head to the master," he said. The master hes talking about without a doubt is the First Elder. As a matter of fact, I know that it's what they want but I still shivers and shakes my body in extreme fear. Dying once, dying twice, will I overcome this death flag today? Will I also die young this time? Wouldn't I can't protect my foster family if it happened?

No! They wish! "Let's see if it's really my head who's going to roll or yours. We'll see, we'll see," I keep my voice as calm and brave as possible with a little provocation like I have great confidence in myself and to the people protecting me.

In my past life I encountered many life and death experiences so why still afraid of death. I die of trying best not cowering in immense fear. Face our fear to escape the never ending cycle of misery.

(Third Person)

As Hua said those words the black haired man with bloody red eyes smirks under his red fanged mask. Without any words he immediately brandishes his sword. Not just an ordinary sword. It looks like an evil thing that wish to devour everything on its way.

"It's the sword called th- the Devour- devouring B- blade of Ta-taotie!" Chuang Yao's voice trembles upon taking a glimpse at the sword.

"Hey! I know young master's sword is gret but shouldn't you give your attention to your opponent? You don't know if you're going to die," her enemy said with terrifyingly playful voice as he thrusts his sword into her right leg that made her writhes in pain.

Hua know that Devouring Blade of Taotie is an evil spiritual weapon that created from Taotie's body, a gigantic monstrous creature who said a glutton that almost devoured the human world whole.

After some great sages finally sealed the world wrecker creature, an evil cultivator stole the sealed Taotie and refined it with countless blood of people, beasts, animals and even demon's. The evil spiritual weapon was made after hundreds and hundreds of refining. That evil cultivator used the Devouring Blade of Taotie to build a sect known as Bloodlust Sect. And it's a been passed down to the disciple of the patriarch for generations.

"You're an evil cultivator! In fact all of you are. Hah! I didn't expect the First Elder to colluded with the Bloodlust Sect that should already exterminated thousand years ago!," Hua immediately exclaims after analyzing his identity just from few information.

Of course she knew that information because she herself participated in the said extermination in the past. So it takes a millenia for her to reincarnated as Tian Hua.

"Woah! I didn't expect you to be this knowledgeable but you missed two things...," Li said as he suddenly strikes the swings his sword to Hua, diagonally.

The immediately action from Li suprises Hua so she didn't have a time to react at all. The sword is too close to her when Fei Wan shielded Hua with her body. The wound she got from the attack was serious and deep as a long and huge flesh sliced of her back. Dark crimson blood instantly flowed out from it. Her face immediately turned white as sheet of paper. She's loosing blood fast!!!

"You...!!!," Hua didn't expect her to throw herself accepting the merciless attack of Devouring Blade of Taotie in her stead, she felt grateful but angry at the same time. She lowers her head in sadness and shame.

She removes a sharp dagger hairpin in her hair and pricked her pointy finger. She drips her clear light red blood in Fei Wan's mouth and it acts as medicine remember?

"Argh... It's okay, Lady Miss! Pr- protecting you is my responsibility! You don't need to blame yourself for what happened... ngh!," as if she knew how Hua's mind works, she immediately made a reason of sacrificing herself. Though it really really hurts, it's worth it. Her Lady Miss didn't got hurt.

"Tsk! Come fight if we're going to fight! ...What's this drama? You're too full of words! Just a small wounds and you're all like this? Weaklings," Li's words are full of insults. He felt that such things were considered useless. Aha! That's an evil cultivator for you! They're apathetic, cruel and unfeeling.

But what he said just fueled Hua's anger. In her past life she hated not just those two adulterer to the bones but also evil cultivators who killed countless lives like it was a normal thing. It's her nemesis!!!

"Young miss! They're too strong!!! And they're good at using dirty tricks! They already killed half of us! Young miss we- arghh!," Chuang Yao shouted panicking when she got distracted a little she's got slashed in her left leg. She herself have many wounds in her body and almost turned immobile.

Chuang Yao with other three Sun Sect's disciples side by side all were looking tired and panting heavily. They were surrounded by eight evil cultivators in black clothing. They're laugh manically as they saw them struggling desperately with no sign of hope.

"You'll pay for this," Hua's voice became somewhat cold and angry. Her aura also changed. Her undermined and scared self replaced adamant to finish this

men off, full of unpaved wrath. Intimidating and mad!

"Good! Good! Good! That's the spirit!!! Show me what you've got!!!," Li crazily said with excitement. His bloody red eyes glowed in extreme madness! He flings his evil sword and made a battle stance.

Hua lies Fei Wan on her belly and she immediately unsheathes a silver moon handled shape double edge sword...
