Xion was shocked when he saw Joren and Lora were exerting their powers to attack Emma. He knew such blows from level-10 electromancer and pyromancer would instantly kill the girl, who was a mere level-3 mage.

He couldn't allow it!

Xion closed his eyes and exerted all his energy.

When he opened his eyes again, time had stopped.

Everyone in the chapel froze in their positions. Even a leaf floating in from the window seemed motionless in midair.

Nothing and no one could move, except the Time Master.

Xion walked over to Emma who was standing frozen near the exit. Her hands seemed to be preparing to receive the attacks from Joren and Lora. Her beautiful topaz eyes looked fearless.

Xion stood before her, and his eyes were glued to her face. For the first time, he could look at the girl's beautiful face to his heart's content.
