174 Facing A Reflection And A Lost Man

Entry 150:

Linus Ozias POV:

The fighting is fierce, and the enemies numerous, but we tear our war through the ruined city. While yes the city lies in ruins, it works to our benefit as we do not need to hold back.

Each strike is levied hard and fast as we approach the church, but we are stopped by Vlad and Atalanta, and both ride atop Fafnir. As we stop and look at one another, I see that the madness has already consumed them both, with Vlad looking like a feral vampire from Skyrim and Atalanta in her more monstrous lion form.

I look to Siegfried as he nods, and I motion to Medusa, "Medusa, use your eyes on the servants to immobilize them for a moment!" The woman with no gestation looks to the two servants as they are in a trance-like state, and with their reason and will stripped from them, they are open to be struck down, and I telekinetically pull them from Fafnir as Tamamo unleashes an aspect of her Noble Phantasm.

"May all who witness this curse be rended apart! Cursed Seal: Boundary Layer Level One!" Soon enough, the two servants are immediately destroyed as the killing curse from Tamamo immediately ends their lives like strings being cut.

Siegfried, during all of this, rushed Fafnir, who blew fire from his mouth, which barely even affected the dragon slayer as he took his sword and cut off the dragon's wings, which it roared in pain as it tried to swipe at Siegfried.

"I killed you once. I will do it again. Rest now, dragon of greed." Balmung then glows with a bright light, and Siegfried utters his Noble Phantasm: "Prepare yourself! The Evil Dragon shall fall, and the world will reach its sunset. I will bring you down ― Balmung!"

With one slash of the blade, a large blast was shot from Balmung, enveloping Fafnir in blue light, and it was slain once again. I pat the man on the back and say, "Well done, Siegfried, well done, but a battle is not over yet. We have two more servants left to deal with. Elizabeth, can I ask you to stay  at the entrance and watch our backs?"

The pink-haired girl then says, "Of course, and besides, while I do admire the bloody decor, it lacks that spark of interior beauty, so I will stay out here." As I turn to Kiyohime, she gives me a look that says, "I am going with you, and do not say otherwise."

I shake my head as I look at Jeanne and ask her, "Are you ready for this?" The saint nods as she says, "I am ready, Lord Ozias, and I must confront her to prove that our beliefs were not so weak." I nod as we enter the church with Ritsuka asking, "As much as I want to ask this, should we really be having a final battle in a church of all places? I mean, isn't the Big G going to take some offense at this?"

I shake my head at this and say, "Don't worry, I have a feeling he's okay with this." The girl then nods as she says, "Well then, I don't even need to worry because not only do we have the power of God on our side, but anime. I mean, look at the weapons you make. This stuff is awesome."

I nod as I say, "Yes, my inventions are or rather amazing, but it's the person wielding them that makes all the difference, and you have done well for a first-timer." As if not expecting the compliment, she blushes and says, "Of course, I am always amazing no matter what I do."

I simply pat her on the head as she blushes but does not lean away as the others, even Medusa, smile at this wholeness. But sadly, the wholesomeness is cut short as I hear a maddening laugh echo throughout the main hall of the church.

"I would welcome you all to the house of God, but he isn't here right now, so you must deal with me and my beautiful saint." The man then takes out his book. As I look at it, the essence of the Archmage is able to decipher it, but it gives me a headache as it is simultaneously nothing and everything at the same time.

Luckily, my mind has been hardened by the shattered limiter essence as well as the various other ones, and ironically enough, the essence of the hentai protagonist is keeping my mind together with its mind and bodily projections. The only good thing about this is that while the magic is awful and requires sacrifices, it also allows me access to the world of the extra-dimensional.

Eldritch beings in the Fate Universe are a bit different than what we think as they are beings that exist outside of the root or Akasha as they are the progenitor of imaginary numbers. It is unknown whether or not they hold the power they wield in Lovecraft lore, as those Eldritch beings exist outside of all time and space and reality.

Luckily from what I have learned from Rob, the extra-dimensional beings do exist, and to get rid of them, you would need to get rid of the very idea of them. 

They mostly just mess around in their areas of the Multiverse. One time, the random omnipotent being even showed me a somewhat detailed map of how the Multiverse is split up, and while a vast amount of it is just that of the Multiverse itself, others have actually been claimed by other beings.

Ranging from the Guild Of Gamers(DARKWOLFSHIRO), run by Shiro and Kuro, to even some fanfiction characters like Issei Savant Hyoudou(LEIXEIN) to even the company from the WAIFU CATALOG.

I shudder at the thought of meeting such beings and thank my lucky stars that I gained Meta Essences rather than running into any of those people. 

But I am going on a tangent, and Gilles is still talking, so let's get back to the action. "Who knew you'd defeat Fafnir and show yourself here in Orleans… To be honest, I am impressed. However! However! Oh, my saint! And your comrades! Why do you stand in my way? You come into my world destroying everything, and now you're even trying to kill Jeanne D'Arc!"

Jeanne then says with utmost confidence, "While that may be a version of me, it is not who I am. It is what you believed me to be and how you believed I thought of myself in the end."

The saint's eyes water as she says, "I still remember how we fought together and lived among one another through our campaign as we liberated villages from the British, and even in the end, when I was touted to be a heretic, my memory of you and the others kept me going in addition to my faith."

Gilles's eyes harden as he says, "What faith do you speak of as even after everything I've done, no one has punished me? He doesn't exist. Please, Jeanne, we need not do this." Jeanne then takes up her flag as she says, "Mortal Minds can never understand the will of God, but here and now, I must end this heresy."

The once valiant knight sighs as he prepares himself and says, "Then let it be the end and let us all die together. Just as we have done before."

The man then summons tentacles from his book, which attempt to grab us as I take out the crucible and and cut multiple tentacles from the beast as the book howls in pain while Gilles rains down black fire upon the others.

Thankfully, due to the suit-enhancing Ritsuka's innate agility and perception, she is able to dodge them relatively easily as she yells, "I just had my hair done, and I will not go bald in my teens!"

The others are fairing well as Medusa is able to dodge them along with Tamamo, who uses her talismans and seals to keep them at bay while Siegfried slashes at the tentacles with Balmung. I then send a mental communication to everyone: "Close your eyes, everyone!"

They do immediately as I place my hands above my eyes and say, "Solar Flare!" along with a blinding light powered by my holy energy, a wave of energy crosses over the church and sends Gilles flying into the wall as he screams in agony as his eyes are burnt to a crisp.

Jeanne then walks up to the man as he utters, "Where is my saint? Jeanne! Show yourself, Jeanne! Please. I don't want to lose you again."

The sain then turns to me and says, "Please end this as I can't see him suffer like this." I nod as I take Jeanne's flag, stab the man through the chest, and say in his mind, "There will be no salvation for you now burn as even in the Throne of Heroes, you shall never be remembered. And you will never see Jeanne again. Now begone."

The man then, in his last moments, looks upon my form in his mind, and he says, "Oh, GOD."

The light then emanates from the flag, and he disappears, and his book disintegrates along with him. All the demons are then sent back to hell, and only the skeletons and dragons remain.

I look to everyone to see them unharmed as Tamamo complains, "AHHHH! I got some of the tentacle slime on me! Lin, help me!" I then use a cleansing spell on her, and she immediately hugs me and says, "My hero."

I sigh as Kiyohime looks ready to kill her. I give her a hard look, which causes the girl to blush as I wonder if my sanity will survive this world. We then proceed to the final area of the church as Jalter sits on her throne made of all the skulls she has collected from her captors and those who sent her to her death.

The site causes some of us to shiver as we can still feel the agony from the very bones present in this place. Jalter simply says, "You know, as you all thought your way through the city, I was left with much to ponder, ranging from my place in this world. This fake timeline as I tried to remember how it felt before we were burned at the stake."

She then takes her flag as she walks down the steps. "And while I could recall some fleeting memories, it was as if I had skimmed through a story and not remembered the details, and from the words said by Gilles, I came to a conclusion."

Flames rose from the room and surrounded us as she finished, "I may not be real, but what I felt is real, and so let us see who is the true Jeanne D'Arc. Show me your faith, Saintess Of Orleans!"
