Chapter 11: Brothers

The scent from the man on the left side of the table told me he was Eric. The other three were completely different but I smelled them throughout the house when we came in earlier. Eric had black hair and stubble gracing his strong jaw. His eyes were dark and when I stared into them he smirked before turning his head away. I had the feeling he did not like me very much. James looked his way and introduced me, "this is Eric. He helped me find you". Eric grunted and took a sip of his drink. His smell was one hundred percent wolf shifter.

James continued, "beside Eric you have Chase". Chase stood and walked towards me. I took a step back and growled. Chase's facial expression never changed as he took a bow. "I am Chase it's a pleasure to meet you", he smiled and then headed back to his seat. Chase had ashy blonde hair that was short and styled perfectly. His face was clean shaven with high cheek bones and flawless skin. His eyes were grey and reminded me of the sky before a storm. If perfection was a man then it would be this man. Chase's demeanor was not of this time and it caught me off guard. I swear he would have kissed my hand if I had let him. The smell he gave off was different then anything I had ever experienced before but I could only assume he was a new shifter I had not encountered.

"Next we have Logan", James motioned to the right of the table. Logan stood when introduced and I wanted to run away and never look back. He was a massive man. He had more muscles then any of the others and stood taller then all the rest. He had long brown hair that was tied back and a beard to match. His eyes were completely opposite of his looks and appeared gentle and sweet. They were the color of melted chocolate. He nodded at me and then sat back down. He had to be a bear shifter. I had encountered one other bear shifter before and their strength was impressive.

"Little wolf, this is our alpha, his name is Michael", the man stood with preciseness and walked slowly towards me. He was muscular and tall and every step exuded confidence. Michael's hair was cut short in a military look but he pulled it off. A scar went from his forehead down the middle of his left eye and ended at his cheek. His left eye had a blueish cast to it and I wondered if his vision was impaired. His right eye was a piercing green and the longer I looked the more I felt like he was gazing inside my soul. My wolf wanted to look away and submit immediately. I fought the urge to look down and waited for him to reach me. I found his face kind and beautiful even with the scar marring it. He stopped a foot before me and leaned down. "It is very nice to meet you Little wolf. Stay as long as you need". He smiled and held out his hand. I looked to James who nodded in reassurance.

I took Michael's hand and he led me to the table. He pulled out my chair and I sat to the right of Michael beside Logan. James sat opposite of the alpha at the other end. If Michael was the alpha and the head of the table then James must be his second.
