1 Chapter 000

Chapter 0: Magic

"Sol dear, do you believe in magic?" My grandma's voice was like a serene music in my ears, but my smile immediately dampened when i heard her question.

"Magic lola(grandma)? Of course not! Only kids believe on that! That's why I hate magicians since they are tricking us that magics were real!"

Lola(grandma) smiled. She patted my head then guided me to take a seat beside her.

"The Magic I was talking about dear is the kind that can make you fly, can make you control fire and water, also, can make one live a thousands of years. It's that kind of miraculous thing I was talking about." My face turned weird after I heard her say those words.

"Are you joking lola? The things you said is obviously an impossibility within the impossibles, and you're expecting me to believe that such things are actually real?" I laughed. "I might be just 7 years old but i know the limits science can do. Though we can thread the air through airplanes and manipulate water and fire through machine and electronics, but able to extend one's life to thousands of years? La, I'm no fool."

But Lola just ignored the things that i said and she just continued telling me wonders about the "world" that contained such Magics. Though i knew that those words were just a fragment of her imagination or probably just narrated from a certain book, yet i can't help but smile while listening to her stories.

Sol woke up with a refreshed spirit. Everytime she dreamed about her grandma, it always made her feel like she woke up on the right side of her bed.

While she's going down the stairs, Sol heard her household's maids chattering. She can only recognize words such as "kidnapping", "scary" and "be careful", and the rest flew right at the back her mind.

For the past few days, the discussion regarding this large scale kidnapping within the country intensifies, especially in their city, no matter whether it was on the internet, news or streets. Why so? Because though the series of abduction happened countrywide but 50% of the victims disappeared within the city she lived at.

Regardless of this, she never deemed this matter as a serious one. Was it que sera sera? A spanish word that says, whatever will happen, happens. Though putting caution on whatever you do is a good thing, but being uptight on a daily basis is an ardous thing to do.

The moment Sol entered the High School she was studying, she can sense the gloomy atmosphere that was looming all over the campus. She wanted to ignore this but her curiousity got the better of her, so she pulled over an innocent student ang bombarded him with a series of questions regarding what, who and why. The poor student was so sacred he almost pissed his pants. Seeing such reaction was normal for Sol as she was a renowned delinquent in her school. A deliquent with a strength, power, money and authory. With this points, even if you're a teacher, you will be intimidated enough to treat Sol as your ancestor, what's more if your a small student who rely on scholarship just to be able to study in this prestige institute? Hmmm?

With a small voice the random student said, "A n-news circulating in the campus that.... that a certain guy named J-Jace...S-So...Something was abducted y-yesterday... and...." The poor guys still had things to say but wasn't able to beacuse of the intense pain that came in his wrist that was gripped which much force by Sol.

"What did you say!?" Sol roared.

She didn't let the poor guy to response as Sol not-so-gently flung his wrist away and madly marched outside the campus.

Jace Song is someone she knew and grew up with, though that was the case, when she was right infront of his house, she was obstructed by his relatives. Sol can sense that their gazes was somewhat off, it was as if they knew everything about her, about her past, present and future. But she shrugged all of this away, and Sol was not dejected with such treatment at all as it was all within her expectations.

Had no mood to listen to lectures, Sol just went home. But all the time her mind was clouded with a lot of questions, that no matter how much she squeeze ber brain juice, she can't answer.

With the use of her mobile phone, Sol looked up to the articles regarding on this case. A total of 9 people was reported missing as of yesterday, not counting Jace who was issued today. The abductors left no clues and pattern. But with the data that was gathered, she noticed that the victims were the oldest of their own clan's youngest generation. And looking at tge surnames of the people who got ubducted, Sol can feel the hairs on her body risen up.

Ah, Sol was enlightened to as why the Song's didn't look like they were aggrieved by a certain member's disaappearance. It was as if they knew long ago that this will happen, and knew long ago, that this will happen to her too.

Ah, her parents already left her, her relatives broke their connections with her, and her grandma that she loved the most in the world, died on her. Therefore, no one in this world ever warned her about this, and if the little memories that she had when she was young, then probably she will look like a small solitary fish in the mid of a wide and deep ocean, lost and confused. Sol made her way her theirß ancestral's house basement. She pulled out a chest from a mountain of boxes.

She touched the small broken key that was hanging on her neck. She removed it, and using that she opened the ancient chest.

The fist thing that greeted her is a piece of paper, and the thing that she came for.

"Moriz...  Loren...  Li... Song... Dortillon... Lessandro... Casmir...Ha....

" Were the names that was written in the paper.

The dread that she felt a while ago was surprisingly gone by now. She threw back the paper and arraged the chest back to it's place. Anyway, she already accomplished what she needed to do so there was no more reason for her to stay in this dark and eerie room.

After closing the door Sol closed her eyes.

La, it seems that those stories of yours that i always found ridiculous before...

I looked down on the little humanoid creature that was floating infront of me.

is fucking real huh.
