Mastermind

"Since it's done you don't have to look back for me anymore. I reached my goal faster than I thought so I'm going back to the Capital."

"En. We are going back to the Capital." Mikael agreed.

"We? I'm sorry young man but we have to part ways because there's no point of you latching yourself to me anymore." Lila berated.

"Who's the young man?! I'm older than you by 2 years so you are the young man! And I forgot to tell you since you saved me and I have nowhere to go, I will follow you from now on as you are my benefactor. No worries, I will not give you any problem." he declared.

"You.... Shameless!!!" Lila glared at him, if gaze can kill he already died many times over on how deadly her glare at him.

Mikael chuckled and did not mind her murderous glare. No matter what, he will take this opportunity to be with her.

With the advancement of their cultivation especially Lila, they were able to get back to the Capital within two days. They did not stop and travelled back as fast as they could.

After she had El checked-in to one of the rooms in the Inn, she went to her room, took her long awaited bath and dragged her tired body on the bed, she slept soundly for a full day. After she woke up, she freshened up and took a stroll in the Capital since it's already dark and she wanted to eat dinner.

Lila did not manage to find Magus at his room earlier because as what the Innkeeper said, he checked out 3 days ago and returned to his home.

Magus managed to return to good health a couple of days ago so he dismissed the servant who took care of him and went back to his old man's place.

She tried to invite El for dinner out of good will but it seems like there's no one inside his room. She let him be and left.

Earlier, at one of the isolated places in the Capital,  a young man with a violet robe was sitting on a bench, holding a book, under a tree. There's only a few people walking around the area and it's quite peaceful there.

He looks so neat and handsome that a couple of maidens who passed by can't help but take a few glimpses of him before leaving.

A man in dark blue robe appeared behind the tree, away from the sight of anyone who may pass by.

"How was it?" the young man spoke.

"Your majesty." he kneeled, one knee on the ground as he bowed his head.

"I got the information about the lady in the painting. She's Lila Shingha, the only daughter of General Kadi Shingha, the most trusted personnel and your father's loyalist. She's only 14 years old turning 15 by the end of this year. She was known for being a tyrant, self-centered and snobbish.

General Kadi brought her once to one of your father's gatherings but she snubbed and insulted a lot of young masters who tried to talk to her. She even snubbed and slapped King Judhe Jiang's only son Yanhe, when he tried to talk to her from time to time at that gathering.

Her cultivation was stuck to Initial stage Red Spirit Power level since 12 years old and she never cultivated since then. Even with her weak cultivation, her name was still known to the Capital due to her unlikely attitude and young master Yanhe's constant pursuit of wooing her..."

The man stopped talking as he felt that the temperature slowly dropping, he shivered as he knew that his young master was angry.

"Haha. So that playboy wants to take advantage of my woman. I really don't care about that stupid cousin of mine, he can get as many girls as he wants but not my woman." Mikael coldly said.

"By the way, your majesty, Ms. Lila Shingha almost died 2 weeks ago when she was ambushed on her way to the Capital. 5 guards were killed by the assailants and as what I gathered, she was found dead when the reinforcement came but all of the sudden she regained her heartbeat that's why she was miraculously saved." the man added.

"Did you find out who did it?"

"It's still under investigation but I have an idea who's the mastermind."

"Who?"

"This is only a speculation but as we are focused on Prime Minister Loid Wu's movements, I found out that he ordered one of his trusted guards, Akuni Uy, to do a task a night before Miss Lila was ambushed. As the task that was provided to him and where he went on that night, I don't have any information."

Mikael flipped a page before talking, "That's a possibility. The Prime Minister was slowly making his moves and killing those officials who's loyal to the Emperor and me. As you know, my father is only waiting for my coming of age before he will proclaim me as the Crown Prince.

My Elder brother and the Imperial Concubine will not allow it, that's why they started their plans in the shadows to get rid of our supporters. If my guess was right, he targeted General Kadi's daughter so that General Kadi will be emotionally unstable. And when the General makes a slip on his duties, he can use it to make a fault in General Kadi and remove him from his post.

That's really a good move but too bad it didn't go as what he wanted. I know he's devising another plan to harm her or General Kadi. Come, visit someone."

Mikael closed the book he was flipping, stood up and he faded together with his butler, Sinoda Lu.

I started to put the last names of the characters in the novel. As much as I would like to use first names but I realized that it may cause some confusion.

Those names are only fictional and only thought on the spot, so if you have suggestions of a name that I can use moving forward. I would highly appreciate it. ^_^

To avoid confusion of the characters, it is First name then Last name format. Here they are:

General Kadi Shingha - Lila's father

Loid Wu - the evil Prime minister

Akuni Uy- one of the Prime minister most trusted guard

Judhe Jiang - the Emperor's younger brother, father of Yanhe and Mikael's Uncle

Sinoda Lu - Mikael's butler

But of course I still prefer first names. Will only use their last name if used to address the selected individual properly. Hehe.
