Confirm, Hold, or Deny

"We would normally get an inn as a temporary residence while on missions but the guild master said you were to be instructed on survival tactics so we will be camping out." Jason continued as they walked through the lobby.

"Hey! You guys?" An unknown voice called out from behind.

Jason and the two continued walking as if the voice was inconsequential.

After they walked a few more feet some adventurers ran and caught up with them and blocked their path.

"Are you guys serious about camping in the forest? I don't think that's a good idea what guild branch are you guys from, you don't look familiar?" The man standing directly in front of them stated while waving his arms around as if trying to pursuance the group.

"Headquaters." Jason replied blandly.

Hearing this the entire groups eyes went wide as they all took a couple of steps back. In the same moment the guild badges attached to Jason's group began vibrating.

"I just wanted to let you know, the beast are growing at a monstrous rate the beast that were d rank last month are already entry b level beast. So if you have a high rank mission…" the man said as his eyes shifted from the two children and then towards Jason.

"I can't believe Headquaters are really sending kids into this hell…" one of the people on the side murmured to his associates.

"That's probably why they are all insanely powerful at Headquaters, start young and grow fast or die." Another one responded as they all felt a shiver go down their spine as Lucian and Althea's eyes had locked onto them.

"No worries, we will be fine." Jason said showing them his platinum badge signifying he was at the very least an S rank and expert of the adventurers guild.

"Wow you're so young and already platinum level." The man in front said in a low voice with a shocked expression. From appearance the two both looked around the same age in their late twenties but Jason was a platinum adventurer while he was only a 4 star silver adventurer and low A rank.

"If you would excuse us now." Jason said as he gently pushed past the dumbfound adventurer blocking his way.

At the same time he looked at Lucian and Althea who were looking at their adventurer badges with expressions as if they were holding back tears.

Jason remembered the buzzing and checked his too.

[Your mission has been upgraded to A rank, advised to return and recruit a larger party. Tap confirm to proceed with your current party, tap hold if you wish to recruit more members, tap deny if you wish to drop this mission.] Jason's screen read as their group lead.

'So this is why guild master assigned us platinums to be their guide on their first mission… well I guess we're doing this.' Jason thought to himself displeased with the outcome of events so far as he felt a weird feeling in his stomach while he tapped the confirm option for the three to continue the mission as they were.

They quickly exited the adventurers guild to find a city road buzzing with patrolling guards and mercernaries alongside the corpses of lower rank beast that had fled the forest due to territorial disputed and being hunted.

"What is happening here?" Lucian asked as he remembered the lives where he experienced the most hardship without protection from anyone and suffering due to lack of strength and resources.

"Some call it beast tides, some call them waves, we call them mass evolutions, but either way you paint it humans have slowly encroached further and further within many beast territories this is just what happens when they outnumber us 1000 to one and they strength vegans to exceed ours." Jason said with a grim expressions.

Hearing this Lucian and Althea looked on in understanding, in Althea's heart she couldn't help but feel pained for the hardship these people were experiencing at this moment.

"We likely won't have an easy journey in the forest while we search for our target, this is like a bounty hunt for a beast general, and seeing the C and low B rank beast corpses through out the city it's likely to dark flame falcon. Has reached mid A level at the least and it's highly likely as soon as I enter the forest the beast will target me directly." Jason said causing the two youths faces to become more solemn.

"Welp I guess now we get to see how our strength stacks up." Lucian said as he put his hands atop his head and began walking in a relaxed manner.

'No need to worry about stuff now if anything goes wrong we can just teleport back.' Lucian thought to himself as the continued to walk through the city.
