45 The Price of Trust

The next morning, Gwyn sat alone at a noodle shop near where her and Zero had been staying. She was scraping the bottom of her coin purse after also paying for their lodgings, as cheap as they were for players, but Zero insisted on eating here prior to meeting up with Kai.

She drummed her fingers on the table. "Where the heck is he?" She muttered as she glanced around the room - it was surprisingly busy for so early in the day. Almost every table had someone at it.

As if in response to her impatience, Zero walked up from the road finally. It was an open air restaurant so there wasn't a door or anything to enter inside.

"Sorry I'm late." He said as he took his seat across from her.

Gwyn sighed. "You would think you would be on time for the plans YOU made." She leaned forward in her seat. "But whatever. So why did you wanna eat here anyways when you are literally a whole chef?"
