15 AFTERMATH : ALPHA'S COMMAND

Ethan had made it home with no trouble at all. Apart from that little incident from earlier concerning Megan and Jake, he would say the day had been pretty normal. Even good. Tomorrow, he had planned to tell Ellie everything that had happened earlier. At least, then she'll know Megan was still alive and well(somewhat) in Mid-mount.

When he got home, his mother was waiting for him in the living room. She let out a visible sigh of relief as she saw him walk through the door into the house. He went to sit by her and placed a Peck on her cheek which caused a smile to blossom on her face.

The two of them got into a conversation as she told Ethan what she had been up to the whole day. Just as he expected, it wasn't much. But Ethan was still glad she was taking the time to do stuff just like in the past.

He also started telling her about his day. What he had done at school. Mr.Twist and his new Tele-tubies bone science. What he had done at the restaurant today (Ellie was not mentioned) among others. He was about to tell her about what had happened in the Alleyway when they Heard footsteps heading for their door.

The footsteps were loud and confident and sounded very familiar. Ethan felt his heart sink as the footsteps stopped right outside the door. He was sure he knew who those footsteps belonged to. He took a look at his mother who seemed to share his fear as she was visibly shaking as if from the cold.

They both watched in silence as the door handle was twisted from outside. The door was then pushed inward gently and a familiar combat boot stepped into the room, followed by the full body of a man they feared and hated at the same time.

The man looked inquiringly at the two of them with a wicked grin before bursting into laughter upon seeing their panicked looks. " 'Dread' is home " he announced amidst laughter.

Meanwhile, whiles Ethan was home, Jake had been playing bodyguard in the cold Alley. The girl Ethan had called 'Megan' was still sleeping. Jake was pacing up and down the small alley with his arms crossed over his chest. 'what is taking them so long?, They said they'll be here in 5 minutes and already 15 minutes have passed.

This is why no one likes the police. They are so incompetent it's almost annoying', Jake fumed. He'll give whoever they sent a piece of his mind if he saw them. His parents must be.."

HOOOOOOOWWWLLLL!!!

A loud wolf howl echoed throughout the entire town. "Huh?" Jake couldn't believe his ears. Was there a wolf loose in the town? But no one said anything about Mid-mount having wolves when his family was moving here. Damn!, Now his parents wouldn't let him go out on his own at night again.

"Urgh..ow! My head", a voice stopped Jake's rambling thoughts. He turned to the girl on the floor. She was now holding her head as she sat up.

"Oh, so you talk!" Jake started, annoyed. The girl looked at him like he was stupid.

"Of course, I talk. Didn't you hear me just now?", she rolled her eyes at him.

"Don't you roll your eyes at me, young lady. I didn't ask you to jump me the moment you set eyes on me. I know I'm good looking but what you did was just disgraceful. Now look the position you've put me into, a whole me doing bodyguard duty!", Jake continued angrily.

The girl started laughing, " me? Jump you?" She looked at him from top to bottom and burst into giggles again. "Don't flatter yourself, lover boy. Now tell me, why am I in this state? Why does my nose ache so bad, why are my lips busted and why is my head killing me?", the girl asked.

Jake was beyond angry at this point. He didn't like the way the girl sized him up and burst into a fit of giggles at the end. He felt he had been judged and deemed worthless. "Why would I lie to you?, You came on strong at me and I had to knock you out with that brick over there", Jake answered in annoyance.

"What?!!!,you hit me on the head with a brick?, How dare you!!!" The girl yelled at the top of her lungs as she made to grab Jake who hurriedly jumped back.

"Hey, hey..it was all self-defense. I am an honorable person. You're beautiful and all but I had to defend my dignity and body when you came at me like that. It's in the constitution you know." He answered seriously.

"Screw you, Jerk!!!" The girl screamed at him.

"You already tried that." He answered as he turned to leave. His job was done here as far as he was concerned. If the police come to meet no one here, the fault would all be theirs for being late.

"Where do you think you're going?!", Megan asked the boy.

"I'm going home. You don't expect me to stay here with you in this dump, do you?. At least get us a nice room first." He answered without turning his back.

"Fuck you!!!" Megan yelled at his retreating back. She heard him chuckle but said nothing as he turned the corner to his left and disappeared.

She shook her head as she watched him go. He wasn't that bad looking though, with his brown hair and tall athletic physique. She didn't recall anyone like that in town but she knew even if she had seen him before, she still wouldn't have remembered him. She just didn't have time for boys.

She let out a groan as she pulled herself to her feet. "Aaah...my whole body hurts. Just what happened here?" She asked herself as she started walking out the Alleyway. "I will just go home and...,"

'This is your Alpha speaking. The chief guard or ponice as you call it has joined our ranks. You are now allowed to go home. You are forbidden from telling anyone about what you are or where you've been these past few days. You are to act normal until further notice. May the moon continue to bless us.' the message which had interrupted her thoughts ended.

'Ponice?', What the hell was ponice?. Did the voice mean police?' now that she thought of it, she realized she knew that voice. It was the voice of the large man that had abducted her and sent her into that cave. As she thought this, all the memories of the last three days in the cave came crashing down on her.

Her abduction. The turning. The dead cow. What the man had called them. She started shivering as she recalled everything. Tears started brimming down her face as she thought of her life. "O...oh God. It's all true. I..I..I'm no longer human. I am a danger to everyone. I have to leave Mid-mount" she said. But alas, she knew it was useless.

She couldn't leave even if she wanted to. She would follow the large man that called himself their Alpha's instructions to the last detail. She found herself moving towards her house and her hands wiping the blood and tears off her face as her face reverted to its normal frowning self. All this was done subconsciously.

Megan didn't question her actions. She already knew what was happening and let it continue. There was no need fighting it. She would not win. So long as the Alpha had commanded the Omega, the latter's body will follow, be it willingly or unwillingly.
