47 47. Training, materia upgrade.

The next morning Lili was up bright and early for training. We were all in the back yard with Hel petting Boko. One of the knights had volunteered to train the little pallum in my place. They had all the knowledge I had so the training would still be the same, they might be even more effective than I am since they don't have wasted movements.

Right now Lili was trying to hit the knight with the giganto axe which was being deflected by a simple hand and side stepped grqcefully. Then the knight would adjust the small girl and show her how to wield the large weapon properly. Lili was actually learning very quickly, she was an incredibly smart girl after all.

During this time I was looking over my materia, I still had 5 materia slots and 2 guardian force slots to use since the knights went somewhere else.

There were some other materia I was actually curious about. A blue materia called elemental materia, apparently when combined together with a different materia you could gain immunity to that element or status effect. So if fused with poison materia I would gain immunity to poison, or if fused with lightning I could gain immunity to lighting, I would also be able to imbue my attacks with the same materia, it would however take over 2 slots.

The next was purple colored materia, this was actually enhancing materia that would increase stats. For a maxed out materia it gave a 100% increase in the stat it was designed for. Mana plus would increase my magic reserves by 100% basically doubling my mana, Speed plus would double my speed, same thing with strength plus increasing my physical power.

There was another pair I was curious about. Drop plus, and Exp plus.

Drop plus would apparently net me double loot somehow which I was curious about. But that Exp plus.

Made me itchy. I wanted to know if it worked for excellia, if it did work for excellia, I wanted to fucking use it. It worked differently too, at max level it gave 5x exp. I would level up 5 times faster if it worked. The ones I had were of course max level. I had 3 of those puppies on hand. Cloud, Cid and Vincent had one each.

Rotating the three materia in my hand I shrugged. Worse that could happen was i take them out. I pop all three into my arm taking up 3 of my materia slots.

I also grab Ice and Earth materia and tuck those into my arm. Good to have my run of different elements after all.

Now for my guardian forces, I consider it for a moment. Grinning I pop a certain guardian into my other arm.

"Tonberry!" I call out. There is a small flash of light as a little green creature with glowing yellow eyes appears. It had on what appeared to be brown monk robes, a lantern held in 1 hand and a small knife held in the other. Behind the creature was a small whale looking tail.

It wasn't fast or particularly strong however it had two unique skills. Level up, and Level Down.

The first was a buff that increased the power of the party, and the second was a debuff that decreased the power of the opponent. It increased or decreased as a whole, speed, power, endurance, defense. It was a pretty good skill to have but what's more.

"That knife is filled with death energy." Hel says looking at the little chef's knife in the hand of the Tonberry as he waddled slowly over.

That knife is an almost guaranteed instant kill weapon filled with death energy. The problem is that Tonberry are incredibly resistant to all magics and attacks and are also incredibly slow. Making it so you can't boost it with Haste. Also you can't really take the knife as it only works correctly for the tonberry. It's like a turtle with an instant kill weapon.

It took him a couple second to reach me before just sitting down next to me.

"Wuuu?" it said slowly.

I just shrugged and patted his head as his glowing yellow eyes narrowed in pleasure apparently.

"It is rather cute." Hel says with a smile.

Smiling I push another small guardian into my arm.

"Cactuar!" I call out my second summon a small green cactus appears. It looks like he is frozen in a running stance, but I can make out a little tic tic tic noise, its currently running in place so fast it simply looks like its standing in place.

"Whoahhhhh!" it let's out an odd noise before bursting with speed around the yard, a small dust cloud following behind the incredibly fast cactus. *Woosh!*

"Fast!" seeing it in person that little cactus must be a god of speed.

It comes to a halt in front if me with little tic tic noises before running off again.

Cactuar can cast haste and hastega, it can also throw the needles on his body for incredible damage as they are extremely sharp, or simply kick the shit out of things with his prickly feet.

The fastest and the slowest summon.

Neither of them need to eat, Tonberry is technically an undead and Cactuar is a plant.

I plan to have tonberry just ride on the cart once we get it and use his buffing skills. As for cactuar he can run around and pincushion things. Plus I think he is fun to look at. Maybe I'll get him a little sand box he can play in.

In this small amount of time hes already ran a path through the yard. He has a dirt track now he seems to enjoy running.

I'll register them in a bit when I head to the guild.

After a couple hours of training Lili, I decide it's time to go to the guild and register my two new creatures. Then head down to the dungeon and see how the exp plus works out, if its shit I swap for poison, darkness and water materia.
