26 26. Tamer.

"If you come by tomorow I can have the builders and leather workers measure Boko for you and we can run some tests to see how much he can hold." The man named Paul says.

"Sure. What time?" I ask.

We hash out the details and I'll swing by in the morning after my study session.

"Alright everything looks good." Rose says. "We can head back to the guild and get your tamer license stamped onto your guild ID. We can also have the Tamed creature license stamped for Boko."

Nodding I follow her with Boko and we head back to the guild with plenty of people looking at the large bird.

Once back at the guild Rose heads inside and brings back out my Guild ID with a new tamer status on it and a kind of dog tag for Boko which can go around his neck or talons with a small sturdy chain.

I plop it around his neck and he warbles happily.

"Well congratulations on becoming a tamer." Rose says.

"Thanks, this should be helpful for running around in the dungeon, once I get myself a nice cart I can bring back some of the heavier things like Lizard skin. If not we can at least carry more with saddle bags, I tend to leave only when my bags are full. I can only carry so much." i admit with a laugh.

Rose shakes her head, "I have never heard anyone complain about having too many item drops."

"Well now i have a teammate to watch my back." i laugh rubbing the big bird. It's like a giant puppy with razor sharp talons.

"True, still you need to be careful." Rose sighs.

"Anyway I should get back and let my Goddess know everything went well." I easily swing up into Boko.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow." Rose says.

"Yep! Boko let's head home I'll point you the way, gunna be running this alot from now on." I pat the bird and start to direct him back to the house.

Tons of people stare curiously at the magnificent yellow bird. "Going to have to get you a watering trough and a food trough if you plan to stick around permanently. We can do that tomorrow."

"Wark!"

"Get you some stuff to build a nest too." I comment.

Arriving back at the house I unsummon him and grab his ID before heading inside.

"Everything went well." I tell Hel showing her my guild card.

"That's great." She says happily.

"Mhm, I'll be taking Boko to the Ganesha family tomorrow to have him measured for a couple saddles and a cart for the dungeon. Anyway would you like to learn how to make bullets?" I ask the little goddess.

"Really?" She asks curiously.

"Sure, I can teach you how to mix things. But you'll have to be incredibly careful." I warn her. "It could get you hurt if you are careless."

"Mm I want to learn!" She says eagerly.

"Alright."

We make our way down to the cellar and over to the table with various different ingredient, surprisingly gunpowder isnt really complex to make.

(I ain't teaching you little shits how to make gunpowder.)

"Anyway, you have to grind up these ingredients into a very fine powder and then strain it for any big pieces. Make sure none of it is near fire, best to use wood for the mixing not metal." I show her the proper weights needed for each ingredient with the scales. "Grind it up one at a time. I made sure to buy different pestle and mortar for this."

Hel watches closely and pays attention to everything I say even writing down the recipe for later.

About 30 minutes later I have a large jar of fresh made gun powder. I keep it in a glass jar with a wooden cork.

"Never take it near fire, and don't touch it with metal, wouldn't want to get some static charge in there and blow yourself up." I tell her.

"Alright moving on to bullet tips and casings." I tell her moving over towards the furnaces and using a cloth around my face. "First off it's best to wear a mask of some sort and gloves as lead is poisonous..."

Hel just gives me a dull look. "I'm a goddess of death do you think I can be poisoned?" she asks.

"Fair point." I concede. I doubt I could be poisoned by this either but still. "Anyway you just put this metal in the crucible, and then you light the furnace. It will only take a couple of minutes for the lead inside to melt."

I show her how it's done. Soon I have a crucible of molten lead.

"You grab the crucible with these tongs and pour into this mould." I pour the molten metal into a special mould. "Then you hold for a second before squeezing and dump the new bullet tips into this bucket of water. The excess lead can be remelted for more bullet tips."

Following that It was the same for the casings, I'll probably have to collect those bitches for reuse to save time.

A couple of small adjustments and pouring gun powder and I finally had myself bullets. "Different bullets need different casings but I'm currently only using revolvers or I would blow through way too much ammo."

Luckily I could make about 25 bullets at a time. I had quite a bit of ingredients too, most of it was dirt cheap and used for alchemy so I could pick it up for cheap. Lead wasn't really used for much. Brass was probably the most expensive and I could get pounds of it and still not hurt my wallet any, I'm pretty sure a meal at the hostess of fertility where Syr worked cost me more than like 50 pounds of Brass.

The next couple of hours were spent making hundreds of bullets for me fo use before taking a nice hot bath and relaxing on the couch with my book on magical gunsmithing.
