Chapter Five

Leonard

After dinner, Grace and I sat with the three brothers watching television. I heard a sigh come from beside me, looking to Graceona, who looked at me. "Something wrong?"

"I'm just bored." She looked back at the television.

"Bored?" Loz said from the floor that he and Kourtney lay watching the cartoon that played. "This is their best show." Loz moaned with a sigh, turning back around to get into the show that danced across the screen.

I looked at the teen on the floor, that was more into the cartoon figures than the actual child on the floor, who lay eating her animal crackers. I chuckled to myself as Yazoo stood to his feet, walking past me, going up the stairs. Kadaj, who was paying zero attention to the childish show. His major focus was polishing his weapon, only looking up to acknowledge the longer-haired brother leaving the room before his focus was once again on the weapon in his hands.

I looked at Graceona, who was now watching the cartoon once more. I stood up looking at her, as she looked at me, causing the younger brother to once again look up from his task. "I'm going to go take a shower." I looked at Graceona, who knew better than that. However, she nodded her head and continued to watch the television. The sound of Kadaj's cleaning rang in my ears once more, as I had taken this opportunity to take my leave. Which I did so, and glad to do just that.

I walked upstairs, coming to the hallway. Yazoo's door cracked open, as I walked to the door, tapping on it, knowing he would hear the noise even if I was just to tap the door. The door came open as the teen poked his head out, before completely opening the door, upon seeing who it was that knocked on his door. "Something wrong?"

I looked at the teen who had asked the question; I raised my brow, tilting my head to the side. "Not with me, no, I'm fine. What's going on, Yazoo?"

"What do you mean, Leonard? Nothing is bothering me. Why do you ask?" the teen though his eyes stared into mine, his features like the reunion. Empty and emotionless. The fact shocked me to a degree since the three boys were coming from the persona of their creator, slowly, but surely. Yazoo was ticked, though I was clueless why Grace too seemed upset. "Leonard? Are you going to answer my question?" the monotone voice of the youth in front of me still looked at me, but he was now leaning against the door frame.

"What question? Sorry. I zoned out."

Yazoo sighed. "I asked what you thought was bothering me."

"You seem ticked. What happened?"

"Nothing. I'm not upset."

I looked at him, knowing better than to keep the questions coming. Yazoo was the more peaceful of the brothers. However, he had the worse temper of the three. I sighed, knowing this was a losing battle. "Alright then, if you're sure, then I'll leave it alone."

Yazoo nodded his head, walking back into his room closing the door. As I heard the door lock, I sighed. "He wouldn't tell you what his problem was, would he?" Grace's voice came from behind me.

I looked at her. "Nope, he told me it was none of my business without telling me it was none of business, by shutting the door and leaving me standing dumbfounded. Do you know what is going on?"

She looked at me. "Oh, yeah, I sadly know what the problem is, as always accusations have their ugly little heads poked into a perfectly balanced family." I looked at her. "Accusations and jealousy rather, Kadaj has in his head that Yazoo is hiding information from him about your condition, Yazoo claims he has told them everything that there is to tell, and of course, Loz is just agreeing with Kadaj because his little pea brain has nothing else to do and wants to kiss up to the one that he thinks calls the shots. Children's games from teenagers who are too old for the sport, however, they seem to have more than enough time on their hands, so they play a pointless game and produce wastes of time moments. That sums it up, Kadaj's dictatorship and Yazoo getting fed up with the games, and Loz being the childish creation that nobody asked for, however, we have it."

I sighed. "There's nothing he can tell. I didn't tell him anything last night. There's nothing to tell."

She shrugged her shoulders. "It doesn't matter. Kadaj and Loz swear that you and Yazoo are forming an alliance and they will not take it sitting down. They may be my father's creation, however, when they act like this. I refuse to claim them. When they act like they have some sense, then we'll talk." She leaned against the wall. Looking at Yazoo's locked door. "You want in, I know you do, just tell someone who will give you that."

I looked at her. "How are you going to achieve this, hmm? It's clear he wants to be left alone; can't we respect."

Before I could finish, it brought me to a stop when a loud thump startled me. I looked around, seeing that Grace had kicked the door down. I glared at her. "Seriously, we couldn't have given him his space?" She shrugged.

"As my mother always said, you buy the food, you shelter them. You don't have to give space. You take it whenever I like Yazoo and he will feel better. Point, blank, period." She walked into the room as I followed behind her. Yazoo looks up from his book, then back at the book.

"Can I help you, Graceona? Since you thought kicking down my door was a solution."

"That's mother to you, and yes you can and will help me."

"Ah, have a seat."

He placed his book on the table, leaning into the chair, crossing his legs.

"Look, you're not alone in this with Kadaj and Loz. I don't like it, I like you. You and Leonard may or may not be forming a team. That's not something I care to look into, but Kadaj doesn't run this circus. Leonard does. I do as well when this circus gets chaotic, then I happily come and set things straight."

Yazoo looked at her. "We're not forming anything."

"Don't care, anyhow, you and I, however, we understand one another. We respect one another, and these childish games are going to stop. I know the half-pint version of my father is getting in your head. He's never quiet to be friendly. I am also aware that he is listening in on this conversation, and I have this to say to him and his little puppet. The games better stop or else." She grinned, as Yazoo looked at her with wide eyes. "Now, who wants to go play whack a Loz and pin the tail on the Kadaj."

She walked from the room. Yazoo and I looked at one another. I sighed. "I'll get the weapons." I walked from the room.
