77 Ch 75 – Lute

Inside a forest full of green trees and a landscape of dirt and grass, two people could be seen. One was a young man with black hair, purple eyes, light skin with pink blushes, wearing a dark green tunic shirt and white pants, he was currently sitting on top of a chopped tree stump, his name was Lute, an ordinary village boy. Beside him, a young girl could be seen that should be around the same age as the boy, with blond hair that reaches her neck, blue shining eyes full of youthful vigor, wearing a green dress, the inner was light green while the outer one was a darker shade, she was currently holding a light brown basket over her hands that holds some fruits, mushrooms, and wild vegetables, her name was Lydia, a normal village girl and childhood friends with Lute.

"Woah! The Reincarnates defeated the demons yet again!" the young man shouts with splendor in his eyes, sparkling like stars under the night sky.

"You really only talk about the Reincarnates, don't you, Lute?" the young girl sighs, shaking her head inside her mind.

"Well, that's because I respect them a lot! Aren't the Reincarnates fighting against Demon Lord troops so that people like us can live in peace?" Lute retorts with a smile of admiration, turning his head towards Lydia to lock eye contact.

"Yeah, yeah. I've heard enough already," Lydia responds while shaking her head.

"Ahh! I wanna go into the royal capital and become the Reincarnates' comrade too!" Lute shouts, staring into the piece of paper in his hand that shows the nine reincarnates standing heroically.

"That's impossible. You've said it yourself, haven't you? Their slashes cut through iron like butter, and their magic can drill through mountains. You know, you're the best at boasting about your own swordsmanship skills in this village." Lydia said teasingly, her left eye winking while her right arm covered her mouth.

"Gh- You hit where it hurts…" Lute shouts.

"But there must be something I can help with! Like carrying their bags," Lute desperately said.

But out of nowhere, Lydia leaned forward and whispered to Lute's ear, "Rather than a reincarnate from somewhere far away, I actually prefer a childhood friend close to me."

"Wh- huh?! Wh- what do you mean!" Lute shouts, his face blushing a tinge of red. But Lydia only looked into the distance with confused eyes and furrowed brows.

"Hey, Lydia!" Lute shouts.

"… Hey, Lute. The village, doesn't it seem a bit red?" Lydia said in horror, walking past Lute as worry appears in her eyes.

"Is it a fire!? Sorry, Lydia, but wai-" Lute said, preparing to stop Lydia from walking forwards but a whishing sound suddenly appeared behind him and a pair of hands grabbed his neck and the side of his hand, cracking it and knocking him unconscious in a split second.

The last thing Lute saw, was the back of a green-haired man walking toward Lydia who screams in fear.

(An Unknown Amount of Time Later)

'Was I sleeping? I was just at the village's outskirts with Lydia, wasn't I?' Lute thought, opening his eyes with a silent grunt, and saw the dark sky above him and his hand plop on the brown ground.

'!? I can't move my body.' Lute thought, but his attention was quickly caught by a strange sound that appeared behind him.

*Plap plap plap*

'What exactly… What's happening-'

What greeted his lifeless eyes was a harrowing sight, the green-haired man that he saw before he got knocked unconscious was fucking Lydia who was looking at the ground with lifeless eyes. The constant sound of flesh hitting flesh entered Lute's ears.

'I see, this is a dream. There's no mistaking it. He's "God's Mistake", Louis Crawford-sama.' Lute thought, but he was quickly interrupted upon hearing a new voice, the voice of a young man entered his ears.

"Hey, Louis! I was looking everywhere for you, and here you are slacking off!"

What entered Lute's sight were two more Reincarnates, "The Undead King," Don Will Dead-sama, and "Looper," Honda Yuuya-sama.

"Huh? Did I make some sort of mistake again?" Louis said, his closed eyes looking at the two with a nonchalant stare.

"Tch, just deal with the cleanup yourself," Honda said, scratching the back of his head with an annoyed face.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. You say cleanup… But they're already dead."

'When I wake up, I will talk to Lydia a lot. Since to me, Lydia is…' Lute said his final thoughts, and finally, his vision fully turned into darkness.

(The Royal Capital)

"Thank you all for gathering here today, executives of the Insurgents of God, "The Best Nine." A black-haired man said wearing a leathery black cloak over his whole body, he was Kilt, "The Dual Wielding Black Knight."

Around him were the eight other Reincarnates sitting on a set of luxurious chairs around a brown table.

"Looper": Honda Yuuya.

"God's Mistake": Louis Crawford.

"The Fallen Goddess": Flare.

"The Daughter Villainess": Imerda Pinata.

"The Young Demon": Anastasia Melokva.

"The Named Slime": Roro Sendiger.

"Otherworld Restaurant": Shijou Yukiko.

"The Undead King": Don Will Dead.

The nine reincarnates could now be seen gathering around nine seats, each looking at each other with their aura exuding passively, their own personal strength hiding like cunning snakes.

"Let's get over this once again. What's "The Insurgents of God"'s goal?" Kilt said, glancing at everyone with his black irises.

" 'Cuse me!" Flare said, raising her hand high up in the air.

"There's the Demon Tribe that holds wisdom, "The Demonic People". Humanity finds the king of those demons, "The Demon Lord" to be a menace to them. And "The Insurgents of God"'s Goal is to take down the Demon Lord, and bring back peace to this world!" Flare shouts, pointing her right index finger high up to the air.

"You're exactly right, Flare," Kilt responds with a smile.

"Fufufu," Louis responds with a smug smile by the side.

"The hell? You have a problem with that, Louis?" Flare slams her left hand down on the table, glaring at Louis.

"You're making me laugh, please stop that. Using our cheat skills to effortlessly become the strongest and then kill all the small fry of this world without discrimination. Then, we can attain fame, money, and girls. Isn't that the Insurgents of God's purpose?" Louis said, his voice full of arrogance like he was objectively right.

"Disgusting," Imerda said by the side, glancing at Louis with condescending eyes.

"Huh?"

"I've heard about what you did at the village. I bet you weren't popular at all before reincarnating. I bet you became good-looking only after you reincarnated. I want to pray for your previous face." Imerda laughs, covering her mouth with her luxurious fan as she fully looks down on Louis.

"Silence." Louis slams his hand down on the table with enough force to cause a loud explosion to ring throughout the whole room, his anger fully raging like a wild river.

As silence covers the whole room, the sound of Louis' chair creaking was heard and he slowly stood up, putting his right hand over the hilt of the sword sheathed on his waist that exudes a ferocious aura. He then slowly unsheathed it and the word "Kill" could be seen inscribed on one side of the black sword.

"If you have any problem, shall I silence you for the rest of eternity?" Louis threatened, extending his sword outwards away from the sheathe.

"He's unsheathing his "Magic Tool"!"

"Hey, hey, are you for real? That sword is a weapon that can slay even Gods, the Killer Sword!"

But the commotion was quickly dispelled when Kilt's voice was heard.

"You lousy newcomers have some guts, I'll kill you." Kilt glares at Louis with his abyssal black eyes.

A short pause then ensued, that was until Louis returned his sword back to his sheathe and an amicable smile appears on his face.

"I'm kidding! It was just a joke. … Why did everyone have to become serious like that?" Louis said, slowly standing up further as his chair made creaking sounds on the ground.

"Then I'll be taking my leave," Louis said, fully standing up and starting to walk away from the table.

"Where are you going? We haven't finished yet," Flare said, turning her head towards Louis with surprised eyes.

"I will go and some business," Louis responds with his eyes squinted, and continued to walk forward.

"You guys don't need to worry, I won't be causing any sorts of trouble."

"Quickly relieve yourself if it's just a bathroom break!" Flare shouts.

"I don't think he's leaving just to wash his hand though, Flare," Imerda snorts.

(Before that)

In the vast infinite multiverse, anything could be possible.

There could have been a multiverse where Lute didn't get cucked, a multiverse where Lute was a God, or a multiverse where Lute was the one who got fucked by Louis, but in this one that we have witnessed, Lute's fate instead got entangled with a certain sociopath who holds an intellect that outweighs the Gods themselves.

As Lute's final vision faded away and the final hint of his lifeforce was almost gone, a subtle force suddenly slammed into his very soul which caused his eyes to shoot wide open in shock.

The memories of Braun, the memories of Rick, the infinite memories of God, and the memories of Lute all culminated into one single mortal brain as Braun easily overpowered Lute's weak soul, absorbing it fully to help heal his severely damaged soul that glowed with dim light.

'Fuck! I'm going to die!' Braun thought in his mind, the amount of memories he was currently storing now exploding to Lute's feeble mortal mind and Braun would have to reincarnate again, if he does so, then he would have to pay some serious price to not lose his memories.

Without hesitation, Braun mustered all the amount of calories and nutrition Lute's body holds, his mind quickly being manipulated and altered to a great degree while his skin quickly became thinner and thinner that in mere moments, he became sickly pale and his bones could be seen through his skin.

But he succeeded, Braun successfully altered his brain to store infinite data like a video he could replay over and over again, not only gaining Panmesia but Photographic Memory. But the damage was done, Braun could already feel his body was struggling to keep alive, he did his best to heal the damage done to his neck but he would die in less than an hour if he didn't gain any source of food.

Not only that, he has to lower his presence and act dead so the all-powerful Louis Crawford doesn't kill him.

'My brain processing power is at an all-time low, but if I eat enough and use all the gathered nutrients in one go, I'll be able to do one of my backup plans, Limiter Removal. But for now, I'll have to direct that energy only to my brain. I already tested it ago and it would work, but the problem for my soul is for later.' Braun thought, calmly assessing the situation and breathing calmly to give enough energy for his brain and whole body, slightly dampening the damage done by using one of the countless skills and techniques he has produced throughout the past thousand years.

As he counted in his mind and replays his memories in his mind, Braun was confident Louis would be done in a few more minutes and he could quickly eat some food.

(A Few Minutes Later)

"Grunt." As the sound of Louis' seed entering Lydia's womb was heard, Louis stands up and zippers his pants, letting out a satisfied sigh.

"I haven't done this in a good while. Ngh, now it's time to go back to the capital for the meeting," Louis said, dusting his suit and waving his right arm to produce a purple glow that covers his body, the fabric of space-time around him warping and his figure quickly disappeared.

As Braun saw Louis disappear, his stomach grumbled in pain and the smell of the burning forest around him enters his senses.

'Finally, some food.' Braun thought, his mouth salivating and he crawls forward pitifully towards Lydia's body whose eyes suddenly regained their glow upon seeing Braun's, or more appropriately, Lute's body move.

AN: 2072 words, you're welcome.

Uh-oh, R-18 warning next chapter, it will be full of gruesome scenes.

Also, Braun right now is intelligent as fuck, but his brain power has drastically lowered due to losing his two previous bodies to an unknown cause. So yes, he knows the blueprints and the knowledge required to make a miniature sun one way, but can't make a new one as his brain power is too low.

And IMPORTANT note: From this point on, I'll be an unreliable narrator, so don't trust everything written. Not thoughts, not written values, not characters, why am I doing this? Duh, there's "probably" some precog hacks and nigh omniscient gods out there no matter how abysmal the chances are. So yeah, it's a clusterfuck of paranoia, lies, and deceit not only to the characters in the story, but also for the readers.

Writing is hard, so send me powerstones.
