Ch 195 – Battle Between God Beasts Part 2

The situation entered a stalemate as the two godly beings stared at one another with apprehension. Both had their strengths and weakness clearly displayed to one another.

The solar lion was strong but clearly weaker in terms of raw strength compared to Bahamut. But its speed was way faster due to its body resonating and having control over the law of light. It can move at speeds even faster than light, allowing it to advance and retreat whenever it wants. Any attacks that Bahamut brings can be avoided with ease, and only through traps and schemes can Bahamut kill the God Beast—Solar Lion.

On the other hand, Bahamut was way stronger in terms of raw power. Even with the resonance the solar lion has with the sun, boosting its strength to nearly star level, Bahamut can still kill the solar lion with just a single fatal attack. Bahamut has control over both the law of devouring and evolution, along with other laws, just that Bahamut's comprehension of those laws is below god-level, meaning its law manipulation of those laws is crude and unrefined. Even with the law of space or time, Bahamut's comprehension of those laws can't allow it to be faster than the solar lion who holds god-level comprehension of both laws of fire and light.

But if Bahamut has devoured a god beast or a god that does have god-level comprehension of those laws, then with the law of devouring and evolution, he can quickly raise his comprehension of any law to god-level. Unfortunately for Bahamut, it only rarely encounters god-level beings even after devouring over a thousand worlds. And those few beings he devoured successfully were of laws that Bahamut can't use to counter the solar lion.

Even if Bahamut were to have god-level comprehension of light, the laws of light and fire that were on the solar lion's body would mean it would still be immensely faster compared to Bahamut.

But that was it. As long as Bahamut can find a way to obstruct the solar lion from moving and not allow it to retreat, then a single attack would mean it can quickly kill the solar lion.

As to why Isaac didn't just convert those slain gods and god beasts into his servants and have more godly beings under his rule, he was still only a mortal. One of the core conditions of his cheat's activation was that a portion of his own soul was used to revive and take control over another being, meaning if he were to even have a god or a god beast's corpse in front of him, using his own soul to revive it would only mean he would die. Hence, he allowed Bahamut to devour all those godly beings it encountered.

Angelica clearly knew the reasoning behind Isaac's actions, and knowing that, she can't help but feel something was strange with the entire situation. The situation felt clear, yet also blurred at the same time. And now that she was in a helpless situation, the strange feeling she felt about the situation only grew stronger.

But as she was still trapped inside her True World and severely weakened, she could only watch the situation progress with no way to interfere.

The solar lion stared at Bahamut apprehensively, its eyes glowed brightly and in the next moment, its figure disappeared into a flash of light. It flew all around the void of space with speeds incomprehensible to mortal men. It appeared from one point to another; countless bursts of flames shot from nowhere toward Bahamut who barely defended themselves from the onslaught of attacks.

The solar lion, though a beast, was already at the level of gods. Its intelligence has surpassed normal humans, and could clearly see the situation. It burst forth at extreme speeds and was constantly near the sun, and only used long-range attacks to avoid the same situation from happening again.

While its raw power was weaker when compared to Bahamut, it used its insane speed to continuously deal attacks from a distance to wear down Bahamut's defense and have Bahamut be too busy defending, not allowing it to attack.

Beams of light, torrents of flames; divine sights that can quickly burn down entire worlds ran rampant throughout the void of space. Multiple planets were already destroyed due to the battle between the two god beasts, as even Mercury completely melted while Venus barely hung onto the tight rope of life and death.

Unfortunately for the solar lion, Bahamut was far smarter compared to it. Not only that, it even has an ally whose processing power is far above what a mere god beast can comprehend.

"Calculating… complete!"

A female voice rang inside Bahamut's head, and a surge of information entered its mind. Without any hesitation, Bahamut immediately followed the plan that appeared within its mind.

It continued to passively defend, but once in a while, it would deal surprise attacks toward the solar lion. Fortunately for the solar lion, its speed was far beyond what Bahamut can hope to reach, as its body appeared and disappeared from one place to another in mere moments.

It traversed hundreds of thousands of kilometers within moments, leaving behind trails of light in its wake. While moving at extreme speeds, it shot continuous beams of light and pillars of fire toward Bahamut, dealing attacks at a rapid rate.

The same situation continued, and the solar lion felt its vigor and morale to rise. Bahamut slowly fell into a passive situation, while it slowly gained the upper hand. It was simply too fast, its speed was far beyond the constraints of the speed of light, and it can appear a million kilometers away from its original position within a single second.

Even if the solar lion had low defenses and Bahamut can potentially kill it in one blow, would that blow even hit it? In its eyes, every surprise attack that Bahamut has ever dealt, except for that one sudden maw attack, was as slow as a snail. Even if they can teleport and can appear from anywhere, in the void of space where the solar lion's movements aren't restricted by any other obstacles, it can quickly just move at speeds faster than light and avoid those attacks without breaking a sweat.

Time continued to pass, and the solar lion suddenly stopped its movements. It stared at where Bahamut was, a cloud of smoke covered the area as charred tentacles can be seen floating all around the void of space. But as the smoke receded, the solar lion's eyes widened with shock as it saw a sight that it can't believe.

Bahamut's body, even after suffering its onslaught of unrelenting attacks, was unscathed. Even with all the charred tentacles floating all around its body, it saw Bahamut's body was actually fully healed with no injuries to even be seen!

It was already tired and exhausted after fighting for so long, it constantly moved at speeds faster than light without rest. Even if moving faster than light was far from its top speed, after doing it for a long time, the solar lion inevitably felt tired.

Bahamut, on the other hand, was still full of vigor. Its tentacles swayed all around the area with vitality, as its aura was as strong as ever. It was still at its peak condition just like at the start of the fight, as if Bahamut doesn't know what exhaustion and tiredness are.

The solar lion thought within a split second of how dangerous the situation became. Both sides were in general at a deadlock with one another, which brought them to their original stalemate. But due to it gaining a deeper understanding of its situation, the solar lion used its speed to build up an advantage that slowly grew. But that advantage it painstakingly built up came crumbling down after noticing that not only has Bahamut not even suffered any damage due to a mysterious reason, but it was instead already exhausted and knew that its limits are quickly approaching.

In a few minutes, it would be too tired to even move faster than light, and even with below god-level comprehension of light, Bahamut would eventually land a killing blow to the solar lion if Bahamut uses its myriad laws it devoured throughout a thousand worlds in tandem.

As if it knew the solar lion finally realized what was happening, Bahamut's aura surged ferociously like a tidal wave of darkness. A feeling of danger overwhelmed the solar lion, and before it could even respond, a strange power suddenly burst forth from Bahamut's body which caused the solar lion's eyes to widen in disbelief.

It raised its paw and shot out a beam of light in a random direction, and unexpectedly, it suddenly hit an invisible barrier!

"This, to trap an exhausted near star-level solar lion, it would mean that Bahamut must have already comprehended the law of space to near god-level! At that level of comprehension, Bahamut can use the overwhelming amount of law of space on its body to create a cage of space around the solar lion, trapping it and restricting its movement! The law of evolution, it truly is a fearsome power!" Angelica commented with a glint in her eyes while feeling slightly shocked that Bahamut has already grown to such a level already.

In such a short period of time, Bahamut has grown from an infant devourer to a fearsome God Beast that has already devoured over a thousand worlds! And to think all of that happened due to the manipulation of a mere mortal, the reborn lich and Emperor of Death, Isaac Deathwill!

It was simply an accomplishment far beyond what a mortal could possibly achieve. To raise a mortal being to a God Beast while still being a mortal themselves, that is a feat that has probably only been achieved very few times in the history of the universe. And for Isaac to do it in such a short span of time, it is simply absurd and akin to a story taken out of a fairytale!

The solar lion instantly felt the feeling of death overwhelm it, and its fiery body desperately flew all around the area as a beam of light. Unfortunately for the solar lion, it fell to the deep scheme manufactured by Ai, the artificial intelligence Isaac personally created since the start of his journey, and executed by Bahamut, the Devouring Darkness.

Its eyes widened with immense fear when slithering black tentacles appeared and entered the cage of space it found itself in. It desperately attacked the walls of the invisible cage, but it was useless. The solar lion was already exhausted after fighting for so long, and the remaining energy it can exert can't break the cage that continuously regenerated itself.

The slithering black tentacles approached with an ominous aura of death. The solar lion desperately ran away with all its remaining might, but under the manipulation of Bahamut, the space cage shrunk at a visible pace that caused the solar lion to panic.

This was the might of the mortal entity, Ai. Even as a mortal construct, Ai holds intelligence far beyond most godly entities, especially compared to God Beasts. A scheme it made allowed Bahamut to trap the solar lion, and now, it was reaping the fruits of the trap they sow.

A black tentacle pierced through the void of space, arriving right in front of the solar lion that couldn't react in time. The black tentacle punctured the solar lion's head, and as the laws of both god beasts clashed, the solar lion's remaining life and vitality quickly disappeared.

The flames on its body grew weaker, and its eyes dimmed down just like a dying star. Its fiery mane and fur of flames grew smaller, and the black tentacle dragged the dead solar lion out of the cage of space directly towards the void of space.

"GOOD, GOOD! After so long, the fruits of my labor are finally here! Now, I only need to take the final step, and I can finally ascend!" Isaac madly laughed. His eyes bore deep ominousness behind them, as his mad grin couldn't help but increase the strange feeling Angelica felt.
