49 The Voice

After they finished eating, Kanisha volunteer in washing the dishes which makes Mae happy as she will help Hudson take a bath on their own house. Axel stays with Kanisha and help her do the dishes.

This house is build by Axel preparing for the arrival of his mate in the future. So that they can have a home to settle down and create a family.

"So is there s-something you w-want to tell m-me?" Kanisha asked as she wash the plates with dish soap.

"Yes, it's about Nathan...." Axel trail off, testing Kanisha's reaction but she remained unbothered so he continued. "Nathan Wood and his pack are the one who attack our peaceful pack years ago."

When Kanisha heard it, she unknowingly drop the plate she's holding but good thing Axel catch it before it breaks.

"Are you okay?" Axel asked with concern face. "Let me wash the dishes, please sit here." Axel grab Kanisha and let her sit on the chair and wipe her wet hands.

"He's so cruel." Kanisha said in a low voice but Axel heard it. She remembered all the events that happened between them and about Lily.

She looked at Axel who became silent, observing as his muscles move. Axel felt her stare which cause him to become stiff.

"Yes, he is. That is why he has a very large territory." Axel said.

Kanisha remembered that time when Nathan told her how large is his territory. No wonder there are rogues who attacks their pack to seek revenge.

"Hmm by the way, do you know the name of his fiancé?" Kanisha asked which cause Axel to look at her.

"I don't know but I believed it's the girl whose been with him since young." Axel said. "Why do you ask? Do you know who is she?"

"Yes, I know her very well." Kanisha said as her mood darkened. Remembering how b*tch Lily is.

Axel didn't reply as he don't know what to say. It hurts him that Kanisha still sees Nathan as her mate and not him. It triggered her animalistic side to mark her but he did her best to keep it low.

"Let's not talk about them, what is done is done. We can't bring back the past." Axel said, trying to dodge off the topic.

"Yeah, indeed. We can bring back the past but we can do something about it." Kanisha said, full of hated in her voice.

Axel notice that Kanisha didn't stutter this time. When she's angry, she never stuttered.

"But if we want revenge, we need to prepare first. As of now, our forces is not strong. We lack resources too. The money we make from selling is enough for our food and other necessities." Axel explained as he put the last plate on the dish rack. "And you're weak right now. Regain your strength first after that we will plan the attack." He added.

This makes Kanisha look at him with wide eyes.

"You're right." She said. "I need to gather more energy." Kanisha stand up and walk towards the stairs.

"Where are you going?" Axel asked.

"Upstairs. I'm gonna sleep, don't wake me up." She said while leaving.

"Wait, I need to introduced you to my pack mates as a new member but I'll wait until you wake up." Axel said as he smile to her. It's only 1:00 PM and she's now going to sleep. He didn't know when will she wake up again.

"Okay." She nod at him and go upstairs to his room.

As Kanisha's lying to the bed. She tried to communicate with her snake but there's still no response. Regaining back her strength will take a long time. She didn't even know if she could do it before 6 months but she will try. She didn't fully trust Axel but she has no choice as this is her only chance to survive. She will gonna prepare herself just in case Axel will betray her too.

Eve ate the untouchable apple

The voice speak softly as a bright light shine above as gold petals fall down, a heavenly touch could be felt shining through, warming the cold and dark feelings buried inside her.

But suddenly the light disappeared and a large pointy hand appeared, blinding her sight. Suffocating her as she's struggling to breathe.

Pain, she could feel pain and a heavy feeling in her body. Crushing her insides. She tried to wiggle but couldn't move. She's trap.

She tries to open her eyes but it's heavy as they have been glued together. She then felt her snake moves within the back of her mind, looking at her with blood red eyes. Slowly crawling at her as her fangs extend and suddenly jump to bite her. This cause Kanisha to open her eyes but when she do, see saw a horrifying scene.

Axel is above her with his hands on her neck.
