Chapter 58

They congregated beyond the entrance to Hall 3. Relda recounted their group.

"You can do that?" Relda repeated.

"My reading machine," Aks said.

Relda finished the count.

"Where are Orz and the babies?" She whispered to Anya. "And Maurian?"

Anya shrugged and replied, "I guess back at the ship. You never gave them any instructions."

Relda emitted a quiet, almost inaudible groan. She gazed back at the entrance, and a strange, cold guilt crept up inside of her. Aks tapped his foot and glanced at an imaginary watch.

"You wanna send the transmission or don't ya?" He grumbled.

He leaned against the doorframe that led to his reading chamber. It stopped the mechanics long enough for the group to pass him and crowd the chamber.

"Don't touch any equipment, children," he warned.

All of the kids raised their hands above their heads.

"I hacked the media system airwaves," Aks boasted.

"I remember," Relda hurried him along.
