Chapter 51

"Get the coward to look this way," Asia announced.

"Which coward specifically?" Klea retorted.

Asia stared down the front sight of her blaster. The squarish digital target locked in on the four-armed creature that held Ozla captive. The shot brushed centimeters above Ozla's head, attacking the creature's neck.

“Are we clear?” Klea asked, checking the perimeter.

Ozla offered a backup glance, and observed the vacant plates and the vacant disks. The wall was too distant to worry about. She gave a curt nod toward her twin.

“We’re good,” she said.

She pointed her thumb to the holding suite. They were a few inches from it now.

“You go in ahead,” she said.

Noah stopped near the door and cocked her head.

“They all know the passcode,” she said. “You sure they haven’t let themselves out?”

“Obviously not,” Klea said with a shrug.
