Chapter 46

Hunley gasped and gulped, but kept his breathing at the lowest volume possible. Somehow, as the Dialorian soldiers dragged screaming children to a tram vehicle, Hunley remained concealed in the darkest corner. He faced the aluminum, egg shaped doors.

At least, mostly dark. The passcode pad emitted a faint light.

"Which suite do these go to?" A soldier with a prepubescent voice asked.

"With the Akronian," his superior said. "Suite 12. And where's the seventh one?"

Hunley moaned.

"Please, Triune," he begged. "Let it be N377A."

His fingers were numb as he tapped the on-screen keypad. Digits flashed across the screen. A loading bar appeared.

The screams of his friends echoed from the tram all the way across the base.

"Mama," he murmured, but far out of her earshot.

The passcode screen blipped. It flashed translucent green, and gave way to an alert.

Access granted, the alert read.
