Li Yan had stiffened due to the sudden closeness with Lu Shu. He had responsively wanted to push her away. However, he remembered her injured feet and so, his hand that had been stretched out was dangling in mid-air due to hesitation.

Lu Shu caught sight of Li Yan's hesitation. She went for a mile and pressed her body flush against Li Yan's. She leaned closer to his ears and spoke in a flirtatious yet aggrieved manner, "Brother Yan, my feet hurt. Could you please carry me?"

When the passers-by saw the two of them snuggled up on a crowded street as if nobody was around, they pointed fingers at them.

Li Yan looked troubled when he heard the people gossiping. However, he could not vent out his emotions on a young lady. So, he said awkwardly, "Let's not do this in front of the public. You can loosen your grip, and I'll carry you back."
