"Well?" She asked partly annoyed, "get a move on will you?"

I placed my steps. Careful not to seem eager and risk enraging Eloïse, as ruining her mood was the worst thing a human can do. But then again, I wonder am I still human?

That time, in the casino if I hadn't taken her hand I wonder what would my life be like now? Would it still have been the same? Or worse perhaps?

Thinking about it I was probably well off because of her.

I drew close to the trembling woman, close enough to hear her heartbeat. Well, with my exceptional hearing that would be about three feet away more or less.

"Listen lady," I started in the most threatening voice I could muster "My master is in a gracious mood tonight and that's the only reason why you're still alive." I glanced at Eloïse who nodded in approval.

The woman shook visibly, from fear perhaps.

"I'll give you one chance," -when did I become like this? I don't really know the answer to that, if I were to respond to that I'd say it was probably the moment our, mine and Eloïse's hands made contact and the contract sealed.

Something about being her servant made me want to obey her no matter the cost.- "Now, remove your clothes!"

-The few years that had passed, with me serving her were the most colorful of my life, the things I did in her name.

Plunder, steal, lie, assassinate, murder, fraud.

Rumors made me out to be much kinder than I actually am-.

The woman started undoing the buttons to her clothes slowly.

"Here, let me help you." I stated taking hold of her clothes and pulling it. "I'm terribly sorry about that," I stated a lie I obviously tried not to conceal, her buttons had scattered across the room bouncing on the marble floor a few times in whichever direction.

"Oh, what's this?" I stated my eyes on the object resting just below her cleavage.

"Please," the woman stated in but a whisper "you mustn't take it from me if you do she'll kill me!"

I cast a glance at Eloïse, she was beyond excited, I had never seen her in such a state before. "That pendant," she started "where did you get it?" Within no less than a second Eloïse stood beside me her swift movement had left me in a mild state of shock.

Her eyes had already changed.

And now a fear took hold on my heart, "master," I stated "not now boy," she snapped. She was transfixed on the pendant it's silver edge and glistening circumference reflecting the ambient glow of the room's lamps.

The clock pendant's design appeared simple but the workmanship was indescribable by normal standards however, what drew masters attention wasn't it's design, because even I could feel the power which radiated from the pendant.

Suddenly she reached out to it "Master NO!"

2009 night 8:42 ?>>forward>>.

I woke in a strange place, bright white lights and a room which smelled oddly of strong disinfectant. My head throbbed heavily and my vision blurred, "master?" My voice reverberated in my head, causing me to reel in pain.

Fighting to stay upright I got out of the bed and pulled electrodes from my skin.

"Master?" I pressed myself against the doorframe, the support gave me stability and with it came a little clarity.

People wearing white uniforms lined with green patrolled the halls ushering the sick or wounded.

-(aspectū)- I tried but winced at the overbearing recoil. I couldn't gain any more info than I could see.

Soon one came over to me in an attempt to get me back to bed.

"No, I must find master." But soon it became apparent that with my current strength I could not overpower the lady let alone keep myself upright.

"Master?" She asked as she slowly guided me back to the bed. Her expression one of underlining judgment.

"Do you know where you are? Mr. ..."

She picked up a leaflet which hung by the bed. "-Eric is fine," I answered quickly hoping that the pain would infect be less, however such thoughts proved useless.

"What....happened?" I decided on a slower start this time as the pain from before hadn't yet faded.

"You don't remember?" She was the type of redhead that simply tolerates other people and I could feel her reluctance. I locked eyes with her then with a snap of my fingers, "dicere!"

I felt as her 'tension' disappeared slowly and her pupils dilate.

The distant and vague expression she wore melted away leaving a blank canvas, which I intended to fully make use of.

Master's /tome/ seemed to have been drained and it was strange, the fact that I could no longer feel what she(master) was thinking scared me.

I need to know where she is.

She started quickly "My name is-," "-not important, what I doing here?" I interjected cutting her off.

"At one thirty pm you were brought here and admitted to the intensive care your wounds were severe and it was estimated that you would die since one of the wounds you received pierced your heart and another your lungs and another your spleen, kidney then lastly your throat had been-,"

"stop!"

She abruptly stopped.

"You may breathe." I added "now tell me, where is master?"

The redhead stood still for a moment, "you..., I'll only serve you." She looked confused for a moment before pausing, this seemed to be a usability issue with the earlier spell, was my own tome not strong enough? " there was, one other person brought in the same time you were, she's been in intensive care since she came." She paused again then,

"What, am I saying?" She looked around the room, she seemed out of it.

Before her shoulders relaxed again and a dark grin creep across her face.

"So this is the new host huh?" She giggled then sighed "why won't you die for me?" She stepped forward, "that bitch stabbed me in the neck and it hurt that's why I'll get her after I'm done with you. " with a snap of her fingers a rather large kitchen knife 'appeared' in her hand.

Clearly this wasn't the same woman and her intent was clearly to end my life. Given the circumstances, a drawn out fight was out of the question and I couldn't use master's tome, so that left me with one option. To get out of this pickle, even though dangerous, I need to use my own.

I lifted my arm pointing at her.

"Hmm?" She paused, her neck bent in an odd angle "What are you doing?" Her monotonous query a creepy imitation of what a human should have sounded like.

Focus, "fulgur portat, portat solo, dimiserit caprum emissarium, visaeque hastam Deus tenebris-interfectorem ".

The room went dark abruptly and the heavy odor of ozone filled the room. Light flashed in rapid succession illuminating the room from outside. The dark receding then returning in quick, blinding and ambiguous patterns till all shadows melted into one.

Black scar like patters crept across her neck as she started having convulsions, falling to the floor.

Then silent and motionless, death.

Giggle.

She writhed on the floor, finally releasing the large knife from her grasp and clutching her sides.

Laughter.

"Priceless! " she exclaimed while wiping her tears away, evidence that she really did find it funny.

She propped her self up while sitting on the floor, her arms supporting her as red hair swept at the floor.

She eyed me, her expression one of curiosity and playful rage.

"That expression you're wearing now," she smiled and then cast a seductive glance at me. "Just makes me want to eat you up, hey I've got an idea after I kill you can I take a bite? Pretty-please?" She was practically begging. Her lack of sincerity except at that last statement, caused my stomach to turn.

Even i whom was so clearly accustomed to doing the unthinkable couldn't stomach what was happening now. Was it her aura? Was it a side effect from using my own tome while still in contract with master?

"What? You seem surprised." "Don't tell me you expected that weak, low grade spell to actually harm me." She laughed once more, displaying a level of bliss unknown to me. "Look," she pretended to think "how do I explain this to you so you'll understand. Ok," she stood up and brushed dust from her clothes then, "you see, I'm a magical beast so unlike you who needs access to a tome to do spells, bindings and such I don't. Also- " she made a gesture with her hands apart. "This is me and my maji, you...you're just a tiny little speck in that giant ocean which is me."

"Magical beast?" I asked.

She nodded profusely, "yeah that's it, but don't worry the reason you're gonna die today isn't because of that."

"Me... die?" I smiled "do you even know who I am?"

"I do." She smiled.

"Then you must know that it's impossible for you to kill me."

"Is that a joke?" She seamed a little more serious now. "I know that you are immortal, but do you really think that you can't die? "

She caught onto my bluff right away.

"Now," she brandished her knife "let's get this over with ok? I'll try to be as gentle as possible~."
