Chapter 2: If you try to scheme against me, I'll take your man 2

With a loud bang, the door was knocked open from the outside, and a crowd of people poured in - police officers, reporters, and the Glenn family's men, women, young, and old.

Ruka Glenn, Scarlett Glenn's aunt, rushed up and slapped her across the face: "Scarlett Glenn, you slut! Do you know that he's my fiancé? Do you know that he's going to be your future uncle? You even seduced your own uncle; do you have any shame at all?"

With tearful eyes, Ruka sobbed pitifully, as if her whole world had collapsed, inciting sympathy from those around her.

Scarlett licked the corner of her cracked mouth, tasting the salty, bloody flavor. She glanced at the excited reporters as if they were high on stimulants, sneered, and suddenly hooked her arm around Ethan Herd's neck, kissing him passionately. The crowd gasped, and the cameras clicked incessantly.

Ethan paused for a moment, realizing what Scarlett was trying to do. He should have pushed her away, should have returned the slap to this shameless woman's face, but instead... he cooperated, wrapping his arms around her waist.

This woman's waist was so thin it seemed to be made of air. Both his mind and body remembered clearly how, when she moved, she was like a seductive fairy.

After their passionate kiss, Scarlett released Ethan, looked up at Ruka and said, "That's right, I'm shameless. I deliberately slept with my aunt's man, so what are you going to do about it?"

The onlookers cringed...

Shouldn't a mistress caught in the act be shamefaced and wanting to escape?

But this woman was so bold, kissing her future uncle in front of her aunt. Her shamelessness was truly unparalleled!

Ruka forgot to cry, her trembling hand pointed at Scarlett.

In the end, it was the police who took pity on Ruka and moved forward, saying, "Scarlett Glenn, you are suspected of embezzling public funds and intentionally causing harm. We are now arresting you according to the law. Please cooperate."

Scarlett obediently extended her hands, and the cold handcuffs were placed on her delicate wrists, giving off an eerily beautiful sight.

As the police guided Scarlett away, she stopped as she passed Ruka, leaned into her ear, and whispered, "You dared to plot against me, so I slept with your man. Now let's see who will play whom to death."

Ruka's face instantly turned pale.

Last night, Ruka had attempted to destroy Scarlett by drugging her, intending for her to become addicted to drugs and be violated by a group of thugs, ultimately exposed by reporters. If this had happened, Scarlett's life would be over.

But, God knows why, not only had Scarlett escaped the fate, she'd also ended up in bed with Ruka's fiancé.

Ruka's plan had backfired, and she was now filled with resentment, her teeth almost crumbling from her fury...

At the entrance of the guest room, Scarlett saw her father Arnold Glenn, her stepmother, and her half-brother.

They silently watched as Scarlett was arrested, each of their faces unable to hide their sense of schadenfreude. As family members, Scarlett was the thorn in their sides, a problem they needed to eliminate.

The charges of embezzling company funds and intentional harm were all false accusations that her own family members had placed upon her.

With a hint of malice in her eyes, Scarlett said to Arnold, "Dad, don't forget to come visit me. After all, I have something you want here. If you don't show up, I'll just throw it away carelessly. As for who might pick it up, who knows?"
