26 REMOVE YOUR SHIRT AND TURN.

Imperial City at Newly Wed's apartment in the morning,

Seren was cooking in the kitchen while Louis was in the bedroom. When Seren was busy seasoning the food she heard the doorbell ring. She was just about to go, Louis came out of the room as he said, " I'll do it".

He strode towards the door as he unlocked it and saw a man holding two huge boxes, one on the another which almost covered his upper body including his face.

Kevin reached the address Seren told him. He was holding two huge boxes which were full of case files of patients. He rung the doorbell somehow as he was not able to see anything at the front because of the boxes he was holding.

Soon as the door opened Kevin started whining, "Boss can you please pick up this box on the top. I can't see anything. My hands are falling apart and I can't hold on anymore".

Soon the box was lifted but Kevin was surprised to see a man in his early twenties instead of his boss , Seren.

Kevin still standing at the door asked, " Is Seren Euphoria James here?".

Louis nodded as he said, " Let's keep this inside first".

Louis carried one box as Kevin was carrying another. He showed Kevin the way towards study room as they both placed the boxes on the study table.

As soon as Kevin kept the box down, He rubbed his hands to ease the pain. He remembered the man from earlier as he asked, " Excuse me. You are?".

Louis replied with a smile, " Hello. I'm Aiden Kelly, Seren's husband".

Kevin replied, " Ah... yes. Nice to meet you Mr. Kelly. I am Kevin Matt, boss's assistant ".

Louis asked, " Are you not a doctor?".

Kevin smiled as he replied, " I am an 1st year resident cardiac surgeon. I am working under her guidance so I am her assistant as well as her junior. I like to call her boss. Besides she is my friend too".

Louis said, " You must be tired carrying all this by yourself to all the way here".

Kevin replied, " What can I do Mr. Kelly? My boss rarely takes an day off but whenever she does, she works as if it's last day of her life".

Louis said, " Please be comfortable. You can just call me Aiden".

Kevin replied, " Then you may just call me Kevin as boss does".

Louis said, " Let's have a seat first. You must be tired".

Louis took Kevin to the hall and made him sit on the couch. He went to the kitchen and fetched some juice and passed it to Kevin.

After sipping some juice Kevin asked, " Where is boss?".

Louis replied, " In the kitchen. Let me show you".

They both went to the kitchen where Seren was busy cooking. Seren noticed that Kevin and Louis were both at the dining table sitting as she replied, " Just wait a little. I'm almost done".

Kevin said, " Boss I already had food. Why bother yourself to cook for me?". He was smiling thinking that Seren had made food for him but in an instant his smile vanished.

Seren replied, " I'm not cooking for you. I don't have time to pamper you".

Kevin who was sulking replied, " Who said I was expecting you to pamper me? All you know is just to harass this junior of yours. How can you ask a mere 1st year resident to do weight lifting? You should've told me that there were so many files".

Seren replied, " What difference would it have made if I told you before?".

Kevin said as he understood, " That is right too. Even if you have told me earlier, still I would have to bring all of them".

Louis was quietly looking at both these senior and junior pair. Who would've said that these both are surgeons when looking at their behavior. But to Louis, Seren looked a little bit close to Kevin unlike how she was cold with him. To Kevin, she would at least reply even though it was sarcastic or explained the reason behind her actions but to Louis all she did was trying to keep a distance from him. He thought that she must be behaving like this because they haven't spend time with each other that much.

Seren's voice made Louis come back to his senses, " Just wait a little and we'll start working".

Kevin replied, " Yes boss".

Kevin looked at the man beside him who was just observing Seren. He asked Louis, " Aiden may I ask what do you do?".

Louis replied, " Well I am an intern in finance department of LY Corporations".

Kevin sighed as he replied, " I know how it is hard to be an intern. No matter in which career path you are, intern is the most hard working stage".

Slowly Louis and Kevin both started to chat together as they were opening to each other. Louis felt Kevin was a young man who was nice and polite. He was really friendly and sociable. He even wondered how did a person like Kevin made him Seren's devoted assistant.

When these two were chatting, Seren had finished all her chores in the kitchen as she replied, " Let's work".

Kevin stood up as he remembered something, " Boss just a minute".

He went inside the study where he kept the boxes. He picked up a small bag which he brought earlier with him and came out of the room. He went towards the dining hall and passed the bag to Seren as he said, " This is for boss. Hope you don't tire yourself and me too by working whole day".

Seren took the bag as she replied, " Flattery doesn't work. I'll have this when I'm out of ideas".

She strode towards the fridge in the kitchen as she removed the cup of coffee from the bag and kept it inside to cool. Before going to the study room she instructed Louis, " Please reheat the food when you wish to have lunch".

Louis was still sitting in the chair of dinning table. He smirked as he kept a hand on his cheek and asked, " Won't you be having lunch with me wifey?".

Seren was almost taken aback by Louis's sudden flirting act. She thought, ' Wifey? Is this quack gone nuts? Why is he calling me wife suddenly? Until now he was calling me by my name'.

Seren remembered that they both had decided to practice when Kevin comes. She soon came back to herself as she replied, " I don't have much appetite and will be busy. You can just have lunch by yourself".

Louis said, " Okay wifey ! ".

Seren left without even responding to him and Kevin followed her. Probably the whole day Seren and Kevin were in the study room. Even in the lunch time, Louis had food alone. It was evening when Louis came out of the bedroom and looked at the study room as he thought, ' Is she still working? It's almost been a whole day. Should I remind her that its already dinner time? She hasn't even had lunch today'.

Louis knocked on the study room door as he heard the reply, " Come in".

When Louis entered the study room, he saw papers all over the floor. Kevin was sitting on the couch while Seren was working on the study table sitting on the chair. They both looked focused and busy. The study room was flooded with medical case files of patients.

Seren's voice made Louis come back to his senses, " What do you need me for?".

Louis replied smiling, " Wifey it's already evening. You have been working for whole day. You must be tired so just have a break. Till then I'll prepare the dinner for us".

Seren stopped reading papers as she checked the time on her phone. She replied, " No need. I'll cook the dinner".

Seren ordered kevin, " Let's stop for today. I'll complete the rest of it. Have dinner and then go".

Kevin was relieved that Seren had finally released him from this never ending work load. Kevin's phone rang as he picked up the call. Soon as the call was disconnected he said, " Boss I won't be able to join you for dinner. I have an appointment".

Seren raised her eyebrow as she asked, " What kind of appointment do you have with the head nurse of OB/GYN department?".

Kevin replied, " Boss how did you know I was going to meet the head nurse? And I am not going on a date. It's just some work matter".

Seren said, " When did I say you were going on a date?".

Kevin replied, " Boss will you stop teasing me for the god's sake? There's nothing going on with her and me. We are just friends and co-workers".

Seren replied not looking at Kevin, " I believe you. Continue to fool yourself. You can't do that to me".

Kevin didn't say anything as he knew that Seren had seen through him. Louis was listening to these both standing at the door.

Kevin left and Louis and Seren were the only ones now. Seren cooked the dinner and both were eating right now. Seren had noticed Louis self massaging his neck several times from morning. Being a doctor she couldn't help but ask, " Is there something wrong with your neck Mr. Edward?".

Louis replied, " It's just hurting a little. Maybe because I slept in a wrong position yesterday. I have bad sleeping habits".

After dinner Seren went to the bedroom and pulled out a pain relief patch from her closet drawer. She came out in the hall where Louis was watching TV sitting on the couch. She passed the pain relief patch to Louis as she said, " Apply this on your neck and you'll feel better till tomorrow" and left to the study room.

Louis tried to apply the patch but he wasn't able to put it exactly. Feeling helpless he went towards the study room as he asked, " Seren can you please apply this. I can't do it properly".

Seren got up from her place and asked Louis to sit on the couch in study room. When Louis sat down she ordered him, " Remove your shirt and turn".

Louis a little flustered asked, " Remove my shirt? ".

Seren replied, " I need to look where you're hurting. Don't worry I'm a doctor so its common for me to see bare body of humans".

Louis removed his shirt and his strong body was exposed. Seren pressed the area near his neck and shoulders as she asked, " Does it hurt here?".

With every touch of Seren's fingers Louis was feeling something he never felt. It was first time when he felt like this. That feeling wasn't able to put it in words. With every touch it felt like he would go insane.

Louis replied, " It hurts at the right side".

When Seren pressed the right side area of his neck, Louis hissed in pain. Seren applied the relief patch where she observed it was hurting. After applying she ordered, " It's done. You can wear your shirt".

Louis wore his shirt again as he said, " Thanks wifey". He tried to not show any of his emotions in front of her right now.

When he was just about to leave the study room, Seren said, " You can sleep in the bedroom today".

Louis asked, " Then where will you be sleeping?".

Seren replied, " I won't be sleeping today. I have to work all night so you can just sleep on the bed".

Louis didn't reply as he came out of the study room. He directly went towards the bedroom.

Laying on the bed and looking at the ceiling he was remembering the incident when Seren applied the patch for him. He thought, " Does she care about me? Was she worried for me so she asked me to sleep on the bed? What was that feeling when she touched me? I can't understand why is my heart beating like crazy when she is near me. Ahhhhhhhh ! Let's just sleep. I am tired so I am getting insane".

On the other hand Seren who was trying to focus on her work couldn't do anything. She stood up and strode towards the kitchen. She pulled out the milk coffee from fridge which Kevin brought for her earlier. She placed the straw in the cup as she sipped her favorite milk cold coffee with cream on it.

She went to the study room and sat on the chair. While sipping her coffee she thought, ' Is this quack some kind of a person who sacrifices himself for other? If he knows that he won't be able to sleep on the couch then why did he have to ask me to sleep on bed. Does he has an helping disorder? Well I guess his personality is like that. He seems like a good person. Wait ! Why am I thinking about that quack? Forget it. Let's just focus on my work. If I complete this then I can at least get an hour's sleep'.

Seren resumed her work after charging herself by enjoying her favorite coffee. When it was almost 3 a.m. , Seren had finished all her work. Soon as she finished , she kept her hands on the table supporting her head and slept.

Louis unable to sleep till now even after trying countless times decided to have some water as he was thirsty. He drank some water and was about to return to the bedroom when he was just passing by the study room. Louis stopped and opened the door towards the study room where he saw Seren sitting on the chair and laying her head down on the table while sleeping with her glasses on. All the papers were arranged properly and were kept neatly in the box again with order unlike how it was earlier.

He moved closer towards her without making a sound fearing she might wake up. He pulled out the glasses she was wearing carefully. He smiled thinking, ' How silly she is to sleep without even removing her glasses. Should I wake her up and ask to sleep on the bed? No..... guess she just slept but if she sleeps here then her body may ache tomorrow. Should I carry her to the bed? I'll just carry her so that it won't disturb her sleep'.

Louis without giving a second thought carried Seren in his arms and took her to the bedroom. He laid her down carefully at one side of the bed and supported her head with a pillow. He also put an blanket on her not to make her feel cold. Louis noticed few hair strands were on Seren's face. He tucked those hair strands behind her ear as he thought, ' She looks like an innocent bunny when sleeping unlike where she is an ferocious cat when awake. But no matter what she is beautiful always' .

After admiring Seren's face for a while Louis was thinking where he should sleep. ' Should I just sleep on the couch again? But she asked me to sleep on the bed. Even if I sleep on the couch, my body will only hurt more. She is sleeping at one side, should I just sleep beside her on another side of the bed? Not like I will do anything to her. I'll just lie down quietly beside her'.

Louis laid down on the bed beside Seren and closed his eyes. Soon he slept peacefully which was like impossible for him earlier.
