39 I AM HIS FIRST LOVE.

Imperial City on the highway in evening,

Louis replied, " Being your husband I have the right. I just don't like my wife talking to some other man".

When these two were busy fighting and shouting there was a knock on the driver's window. Louis slide down his window as he saw two police men standing.

Louis asked as he looked at those officers, " Yes sir?".

One of the police officer asked, " What are you doing here in the middle of this highway? We were patrolling here when we heard some noises coming from your car".

Louis answered, " Please don't misunderstand sir. We are both husband and wife".

The police officer looked at Seren as he asked, " Are you sure miss that this man here is your husband? Is he trying to do something wrong to you? You can tell us freely. We will help you".

Seren replied , " No sir there's no problem with us. This man is really my husband and we are a married couple".

The police office asked as he wanted to confirm again, " Are you sure miss?".

Louis said , " Do you wish me to show our marriage certificate to you?".

The another police officer replied as he smiled towards the couple, " No it's fine. I guess you both should not wait here in this middle of highway. You see its all quiet here with no single vehicle passing and its already night".

Louis replied, " yes sir".

The another police officer commented, " I hope you both can solve your problem and don't fight anymore. It's not good for a lovely couple like you to fight".

Louis didn't say anything and just drove off. The police officer who commented earlier said, " I miss my wife now".

Louis was quiet and nor did Seren say anything. When earlier that police office told them not to fight anymore it was as if he had seen through them. Both wanted to say something but the atmosphere was so awkward that the words wont come out of their mouth.

First thing was that they both were stubborn and were fighting on some useless unreasonable topic that too in the middle of an quiet highway where no one was. This situation made the police officers misunderstand their relationship. Another thing is that one of the police officer had seen through them which was really embarrassing. But the most one that triggered both of them was the comment that the police officer made regarding them as a lovely couple.

Louis asked as he wanted to ease the atmosphere between them, " What do you want to eat?".

Seren said with her expressionless face, " Aren't we having dinner at home?".

Louis replied, " Didn't you say that you wanted to eat out?".

Seren said as she looked at him, " But Mr. Edward doesn't like outside food. Let's just eat at home. I'll make something for dinner".

Louis smiled as he thought, ' Does she remember that I like homely food? Does she really care for me?".

Louis said as he looked at her with an innocent smile, " Let's just eat out today. It must be troublesome for you to make dinner. You must be tired too. I too want to have a little change of taste".

Seren replied, " Anything's fine with me".

There was again silence in the car but this time it was not that awkward one. It felt like normal.

Seren thought, ' Should I apologize for shouting at him earlier? But he started the fight. Still I guess I should apologize. Because of me he is always misunderstood. Last time it was because I was walking at midnight alone and this time it was because I was shouting at him. Why the hell did I lose my patience?'.

Louis was thinking something too, " Should I say sorry to her for shouting at her earlier? Well still its my fault cause I was the one who was throwing tantrums. I was just so angry but still I shouldn't shout at her".

After some time of silence and thinking both said in a sync, " SORRY".

When they both realized that they said the same thing they chuckled together. Louis was laughing as he looked at Seren smiling but she immediately got back to her composed and cold self as she noticed Louis's gaze on her. She rarely ever made such an expression but that too was just for fraction of a second. Louis has never seen her express herself.

Louis thought, " I wonder how she looks when she laughs freely without minding anyone. I am really curious about every expression she makes".

Seren's voice made Louis come back to his senses, " Thank god that you said something except I DON'T KNOW ".

Louis said, " I'm sorry. I just was a little angry".

Seren replied, " It's okay. But next time first tell me what you're angry about so I can understand".

Louis asked, " Who was that man you were talking to earlier?".

Seren replied as if she was not interested, " He is one of my colleagues. We were classmates during our medical college days".

Louis asked, " What did you two talk? I mean like why did he follow you to the basement?".

Seren replied nonchalantly, " He said he will drop me home as he thought I was going alone".

Louis immediately asked, " But wasn't I coming to pick you up? ".

Seren replied, " Of course. I told him that my husband is here to pick me up".

Louis smiled as he heard Seren's answer. Today it was the first time when she had twice mentioned him as her husband. First one was when the police officer asked and the second time was when she rejected that man.

Louis said as he made an unsatisfied face, " Stay little away from him. I don't like him".

Seren asked, " Mr. Edward why you don't like him?".

Louis replied, " Of course I don't like him. He looks at you as if you were his some first love".

Seren replied, " I am his first love".
