Thorn looked at them as if they were crazy. Then Athena said, "Okay, let's get to the plan."

Rowan breathed in and out, then opened the door and stood behind the chicken. "Hey chicken, you wanted something?" The chicken turned around and opened its mouth. Rowan started to run, and the chicken ran after him.

Athena tried to go to the mixing room, but it didn't work. Then Evander came by, first looking at the chicken and then at Rowan. He rolled his eyes, but when the chicken attacked him, he quickly took out his wand and said, "Freeze." The chicken was encased in ice.

Evander tried to stand up despite being wounded. "Ughhh," he said. Felix and Thorn stepped out of the dorm, both looking down and saying, "Sorry."

Evander was still trying to stand but couldn't manage it. Rowan and Athena also said, "Sorry," and tried to help him, but Evander didn't let them touch him. Thorn wanted to help Evander too, but then Melody and Sylvan came running towards him.

Sylvan said, "Ev, what happened? Are you okay?" Melody gave a death stare to Felix, Rowan, Athena, and Thorn, making them feel guilty since they were the reason Evander got hurt.

Sylvan tried to help Evander, putting one of Evander's hands around his neck and helping him up. They walked towards the healer's room, with Melody giving Felix, Rowan, Athena, and Thorn a death stare and saying, "If something serious happened to him, you guys are so in trouble!" She flipped her hair, said, "Bye, losers," and ran to catch up with Sylvan and Evander.

When they arrived at the healer's room, they saw a small fairy who asked in a tiny and cute voice, "What happened?"

Sylvan started to explain, "I saw Evander wounded on the ground."

Evander tried to speak and, when he finally could, explained, "I was attacked by a chicken."

The fairy said, "Oh, mother of fairies, the wounds don't look that great, sweetheart. We can fix it, but that means no broom races for the next three weeks."

Evander looked disappointed, but Sylvan and Melody tried to cheer him up.

Sylvan said, "Mate, it's not that big of a deal. We can go to my dorm since I have no roommate, which means we can party there or something."

Melody added, "Yeah, plus your father won't stress you anymore since you can't do broom races. You can focus on your tests and schoolwork."

Sylvan gave Melody the death stare for what she said, and Melody quickly realized her mistake. "Sorry," she said.

Evander said nothing as the fairy teleported him to one of the healer's beds.

They saw Professor Nightshade, who said, "Detention, Mr. Evernight, Mr. Ravenwood, Mr. Flameheart, and Ms. Nightshade."

They looked down and said, "We are sorry."

Professor Nightshade said nothing and snapped her fingers. Felix, Rowan, Thorn, and Athena were teleported to the detention room. They saw the list holder, Lena, who said, "Mr. Flameheart, Mr. Ravenwood—no surprise there. And who are the other two?"

Athena introduced herself, "I am Athena Nightshade."

Thorn introduced himself, "I am Thorn Evernight."

The list holder looked confused and asked, "Thorn Evernight from the 3V?"

Thorn nodded.

The list holder then said, "This is why this school is full of troublemakers. No offense, Thorn."

Thorn replied, "Don't worry, I know what you mean. We don't have that great of a reputation."

The list holder then wrote down "Athena Nightshade" and "Thorn Evernight" and said, "Okay, guys, go sit."

They all walked and sat down. She said, "We are learning today why it's not okay to give chickens the giant potion," then she looked at Rowan and Felix, who looked a little ashamed.

Meanwhile, in the healer's room, Melody and Sylvan sat waiting. The same fairy from before came flying around and stopped in front of them. She said, "Your friend is better, but remember what I said about no broom races for the next three weeks. Make sure he gets some rest. Don't try to make him work out because he needs his rest. This means he has no classes for two weeks. If I know his father—and I do—he's not going to take the news very well. So be careful and please let Mr. Frost rest."

They nodded, and the fairy flew away to the other rooms.

Sylvan said to Melody, "Why did you bring up his father?"

Melody replied, "I'm sorry, I was trying to cheer him up. I didn't mean to."

Sylvan said, "Yeah, sure."

Melody reacted, "I am serious."

Then they saw Fee run to them, out of breath. "I heard that Ev is in the healer's room," she said.

Melody and Sylvan nodded.

Fee walked over, sat down next to them, and asked, "What happened?"

Sylvan then said, "Why should we say that to a Silverspell?"

Fee replied, "Just because I'm in a different house than you guys doesn't mean you can act like that."

Sylvan retorted, "And you don't need to know everything!"

Fee, frustrated, said, "You know what, I was worried about Ev. You guys are so mean." She grabbed her stuff and walked away.

Melody said, "She is so dramatic."

Sylvan nodded in agreement.

The fairy came flying in again and said, "Hi, hi, your friend is okay, but we need to keep him in the healer's room for more research to ensure he's really fine."

Sylvan and Melody nodded.

The fairy continued, "You guys can visit at 177:006 magic alarm or 199:556 magic lights."

They nodded and said, "Okay."

Sylvan asked, "How late is it?"

The fairy looked at the magic mirror and said, "1600:663 magic mirror time."

Sylvan said, "Thank you."

The fairy replied, "Don't worry, I'm happy I can help! Hi, hi, bye, bye, guys." She flew off.

Melody and Sylvan waved and said goodbye. They agreed to come back later, so Melody walked towards her dorm, and Sylvan headed towards his.

Thorn, Felix, Rowan, and Athena were finally done with detention when they saw Flate and Flint standing in front of the detention classroom, laughing.
