ch 51- Mistakes 3

Rabon Fooz's POV-

I left the building and sat inside the car while holding the book. The book looked weird and ancient. It looked like it was hundreds of years old. There was a bit of sentiment attached to it as it was left by Garz for me. The old man had done everything for me and left so many things with me but saying that this book was his greatest gift felt a bit exaggerated. I was in the middle of inspecting the book when I was disturbed by somebody.

"You finally got the book? *KEKEKEEKE* Now the real fun begins. " A voice came from the front of the car. I immediately recognized the voice. He was the driver from before. Due to this shit about eliminating the Dimans, I completely forgot to ask about this driver. I was careless. That aside how does he know about the book? Maybe he can give me some information.

"You know about the book? " I asked the driver. He was still chuckling which was pissing me off but I had to be patient if I wanted to know about the book. After a few seconds, he stopped laughing and looked at me through the front mirror. The atmosphere turned grim.

"Go home and find out yourself. Why are you so anxious to know the secret. Don't you like some drama? " He replied with a devilish smile on his face. I wanted to slap this guy for acting so mysterious. Who did he think he was? An anime villain Or something?

I didn't continue the conversation and he just kept chuckling to himself. It was annoying at first but then I put on my headphones and completely ignored him. When I reached home, without even sparing a glance I got out of the car and went straight inside. I heard the car engine slowly moving away as I was going inside. Who was this driver? From his behavior, he looks like he is not afraid of losing his job Or anything?

I went straight to my room and sat down to read the book. The book was quite heavy. I tried opening it but it didn't budge a little. I tried again but nothing happened. It was evening so I left the book and went to grab some snacks. While eating snacks I watched some TV and after eating all the junk I came back to my room. There was still some time before mother was going to come home so I thought of taking a small nap. So I lay down on my bed and went to sleep.

As slept I saw a strange dream where I was in a place half black half white. It was like the place was cut vertically into two parts. I was standing in between. On the white wide was a shining armor with intricate design on it. On the black side was a huge sword with markings on its body emitting a black aura.

I thought of checking them both out so I started moving when suddenly a voice came.

"Choose wisely, as only one chance shall be granted. "

My feet stopped at their places as cold sweat began to come down my spine. It was a weird feeling even though it was a dream I was feeling the pressure. The voice felt like a thunderbolt.

With a jolt, I woke up. Inside my room with sweat pouring from my forehead and the book next to me.

I looked at the book with horror as I could tell that whatever happened in my dream was related to the book. I picked the book up and threw it into my cupboard and locked it from outside.

I heard knocking on my bedroom door. I opened the door and it was my mother who came to call me for dinner.

"How was your day today mother? " I asked her.

"It went good. Being a cashier is not a hard job you know. " She said with a smile.

"You know what's easier? Not doing a job at all. Why do you have to do a job when I already am? " I asked her with concern.

"It's better than sitting doing nothing. I can't sit idle. And it's good exercise too. " She tried to justify.

"What? Being a cashier is good exercise? Why don't I buy a gym membership for you? " I replied.

"Don't talk while eating your food. " She just didn't let me say anything afterward. I also stopped bothering her as she looked tired.

After dinner, I went into my room and watched some anime. After that, I studied the information I had gotten about the Dimas. I didn't look at Bala and Kiara. I went ahead and looked at Mirik's information.

Name - Mirik

Age - 17

Threat level - Unknown

Power level - D+

Personal information - ......

I didn't read his personal information. It would be wrong to do so but then again it's a part of my mission. I was in a conundrum and didn't know what to do.

I finally decided not to look as the tournament was starting tomorrow so even knowing about him would not make any difference. I lay down on my bed again and went to sleep.
