ch 47- Still there? 4

Mirik's POV-

"Now you get it? Why do you have to take part in this tournament.?" Bala said with a resolute face.

"How did you even find out that he was the one who had his hand behind uncle's... " I couldn't complete my sentence as intense regret rushed through my heart.

"I had a fight with him the other day. I initiated fighting when Givi told me that he harasses you. I don't know the complete story but I did understand that it all started because of your beef with some guy. And when I mentioned that I was related to you, his expression told me everything. " Bala said while looking in the arena, the crowd cheering for the fighters.

"I have dug out information about the 3rd branch which is backing this guy. Not the whole Garden is responsible, but trusting them blindly will be foolish too. But I can vouch for Givi and Rabon, they are not bad people. " he added still looking inside the arena.

I also started looking there and Kiara was fighting with a guy, sweat beads sliding down her face. Hundreds were cheering for her but there were two that stood out.

Givi and that guy Rabon cheering her from the sidelines. I had never seen Givi even make an expression but today..... She was happily cheering for someone. What happened?

"So what will you do? Join the tournament or see it from the sidelines? I would not force anything on you. To tell you the truth, I would rather have you and Kiara not fight." Bala said with a perplexed expression.

"Don't worry..... I will participate. I started this and I will be the one to end it." I said clenching my fist.

We both started to look in the arena. Kiara won the battle by a hair's breadth and was now exhausted. But she still insisted on fighting so Bala had to go inside the ring and drag her out.

"You will injure yourself if you keep going. " Bala said to Kiara.

"I still had enough juice to keep going on. " Kiara refuted him and was angry at him that he stopped her.

"You have done enough. Fighting anymore will just expose us to the competitors. We are already in the seeding bracket. " Bala explained to Kiara.

They were just having a conversation when Givi and Rabon also joined them. I was standing at some distance from them so they didn't notice me.

"You did great Kiara! You looked so cool from the crowd. I pity the ones who have to go against you in the competition. " Rabon said excitedly.

"What are you talking about? This is just the usual business for me." She said as she blushed and turned her face from Rabon.

Her eyes met with me and her blushing expression changed to that of anger.

"I had seen you from the arena. Go away! Why are you still here? " Kiara exploded after she saw me.

"I was just going to take my leave." This was the last thing I said before leaving the auditorium.
