Asking for Help

As the time to go to school approached, Dominic packed his backpack and made sure not to carry anything that would get him in trouble during the small incident he was about to cause. Even in 2010, there was security at the school gates, so anything metallic on him could be detected.

This had to be quick; the straightforward way was as simple as a slightly bloody fight. First, he needed to find a somewhat aggressive target with a history of trouble within the school to start his trouble. He wasn't a bad guy; he wouldn't harm someone who didn't deserve it, and these days, idiots are everywhere, so finding a target wouldn't be a problem.

"Rough night?" Madison looked at Dominic, who had clear dark circles under his eyes.

Dominic was a bit surprised; he didn't expect a teacher to talk to him, let alone show concern. When he looked up, he was surprised by who was in front of him and instinctively said, "I couldn't sleep well because I was playing video games."

"You should try adjusting your schedule; it'll be tough to keep up in class if you don't." Madison Clark looked at Dominic with a smile, and they said goodbye.

Dominic appreciated this woman's skill. In all the time he had spent in class, he had never seen this woman, but now it seemed like the whole world had changed. He had certainly distanced himself a lot from school, but he didn't think it was that much. Now that he was facing Madison Clark, Dominic increasingly felt like he was in a world that would soon have zombies.

"What a headache..." Since he hadn't slept since yesterday, his brain felt a bit numb, but he endured all the fatigue to begin what lay ahead.

Arriving at the school gates, Dominic looked at Emma and greeted her with a small smile. "You seem happier than usual; is there something good about it?"

Emma held Dominic's hand and said, "My mother's health seems to be improving, so this morning couldn't have been better."

"I need to be suspended from school for a few days." Dominic, at the school entrance, approached Emma and whispered to her, "I'll tell you later, but I need to do some things my father asked me to do. But I couldn't skip school because the police would come home a few days later to check, so I need your help."

Emma seemed confused; wouldn't it be better to ask for permission to get a few extra days? However, looking at Dominic's somewhat anxious expression, she felt a calm gaze and asked, "Which one are you going to choose?"

"I don't know; I need a pretext to do it." Dominic knew his girlfriend, so he knew she would choose one of the young men around them as a target, one less guilty than the others to receive problems early in the morning.

"Choose that one; I remember he caused trouble at the place where I worked after the holidays started; you could claim him for that." Emma pointed to a dark-skinned boy about six feet tall.

Dominic nodded slightly and walked towards the boy whose name he didn't remember; meanwhile, Emma looked for a quick way to find a teacher so that he could be detained as soon as possible.

"Hey, do I know you, buddy?" Dominic asked as he confronted the boy he had chosen as a target.

"Buddy? Damn it, I don't know you."

"Adam, who's this?"

"He's Dominic; do you have a problem with him?"

Adam was puzzled, but after thinking about it, he couldn't remember if he had any issues with Dominic, so he was about to end this quickly, but suddenly an open hand grabbed him by the jaw, causing everyone to step back.

"I heard you caused trouble at the place where my girlfriend works; do you have a problem?" Dominic asked as he threw Adam into the lockers, and Adam immediately got angry.

"If you want to fight, just say it, you damn lunatic." Adam didn't know why the hell they were fighting, but he wouldn't let himself be hit by an idiot who came looking for trouble with his friends. So, after being thrown, he took off his sweatshirt and threw the first punch.

To make it more realistic, Dominic let the punch hit his cheek, so after being hurt, he threw a single punch at Adam's nose, and in just a few seconds, Adam fell to the ground.

"Boom!"

"Ooh!"

The students around simply reacted to that punch that knocked Adam down. Many recognized him because he was the idiot who always bothered the first-year students.

"Get up!" Dominic said he was slightly annoyed by the pain of the punch he had received.

But Adam, who had been hit, felt fear when the bleeding from his nose didn't stop. Still, when he saw that he was being provoked and people were making fun of him, he immediately got up and pushed Dominic as if he were playing American football.

"Ouch!"

Apart from hitting the lockers, Dominic didn't receive any kind of damage. But from the corner of his eye, he saw the teacher running towards them and shouting, "You two, stop right now!"

"What do you think you're doing?" Professor Travis immediately stopped the fight, looked at everyone angrily, and shouted, "Today is the first day of classes! You must really want to be expelled; come with me to the principal's office right now."

Dominic sighed with relief; continuing the fight was not at all good, as he would need to immobilize his opponent that way. These types of fights were not common at all; as a fighter, you know when to retreat and when to keep fighting, but if an opponent doesn't surrender despite the serious blows he's receiving, a conscious fighter really starts to doubt continuing to hit him.

Looking at Emma, who was standing by with a somewhat serious expression, Dominic smiled at her and mouthed, "You're amazing, Emma!"

"Damn it, Professor Kim, take this boy to the infirmary, and you, Dominic, come with me to see the principal!" Professor Travis shouted once again, very angrily.

"Yes, there's no need to keep yelling." Dominic thought with a headache and looked at the clock with just a series of thoughts.

Dominic didn't know if he had time, but he had to talk to Emma and share some information with her as soon as possible so that she could also be alert. Did they know when it would start? At least they would have an idea about it.

When Dominic disappeared from the hallway, Emma sighed and calmed the fast beats of her heart from the shock. It had been a while since she had seen Dominic fight; she remembered that the only requirement she had given him for them to get to know each other was for him to stop fighting.

"Emma, was that guy fighting your boyfriend?" Emma's friend immediately asked her dramatically and whispered, "Didn't you say he was an amazing boyfriend? Wait, did that idiot Adam start it? He really is a jerk, always bullying Eric... He deserves it; don't be mad at your boyfriend; as a friend, I have to say it's not bad for him to fight once in a while."

"That's enough; let's go to class." Emma was a bit irritated due to the confusion, so she immediately walked towards the classroom while her friend bombarded her with questions.

...

Principal's Office, Art Costa.

A few minutes later,.

"Yes, ma'am, we have it under control, so you don't need to worry, but I'm afraid your son's nose is a bit broken... No, it's definitely completely broken."

Principal Art Costa looked directly at Dominic as if to make him realize all the trouble he had caused by fighting, but Dominic didn't pay attention to this because he was just looking at his cellphone.

"Yes, I understand; of course, we have the responsible ones."

Principal Art sighed deeply and said after hanging up the call, "This drama is not good for my heart early in the day; how did we end up here if the last time we had a deep conversation with your father, Mr. Dominic?"

"Mr. Art, you know that idiot deserved a beating." Dominic, who received a message, felt more comfortable and said, "Besides, if he hadn't started the fight, it would have been me with a broken nose."

"Call me director; my name is only reserved for school staff... Anyway, where's your father?" Art asked as he opened a box full of nuts and started eating without looking at Dominic.

"He'll be in Russia; maybe he's on his way, but if we wait for him in this office, it'll take too long... What will happen?" Dominic changed the subject.

The only thing that occurred to him, although it was a bit stupid, was this. If he reported himself as sick, it would require many questions, and he might not have many days off before having to provide a medical report. If he asks for days off, the questions will come anyway, so there is no better way to have days off than to do this.

"Obviously, you'll be expelled; I suppose you've contacted some other relative besides your father... God, you should have done it outside of school, and maybe I would have saved myself the complaints from that lady who will surely come to bother me."

"It's not something I haven't done before; let me take full responsibility, and, as is proper, I'll pay for the medical expenses of that kid I hit. As long as there's no intervention from the family of that student. I called my uncle; maybe he's on his way." When Dominic said this, a series of shouts were heard from outside, and Adam's mother entered looking for trouble.

"That's the boy who hit my innocent Adam?! Bastard, where's your mother? I'll teach her how to listen to her son; damn it, do you even know you've broken his nose?"

"Ma'am, calm down!" Art shouted, watching as poor Professor Travis, who had brought Dominic to the office, restrained the woman, who wanted to cause more than trouble.

At that moment, Antonio entered the hallway of the principal's office and lightly tapped on the glass towards Dominic, then looked at the woman who was gearing up for a fight and said, "Who is this prostitute?"

"How dare you call me, you damned beggar?" The woman shouted, immediately turning around to fight with Antonio.

"Ma'am, I distribute gender equality with my fists; behave right now, and we can end this problem properly." Antonio was a bit impatient; he didn't expect to be involved in this drama, so he saw who to take it out on a bit.

But just as they were about to continue arguing, Dominic walked out the other side of the office and said, "Let's go, uncle; we have a lot to talk about."

"What is this drama?" Antonio walked towards the exit while ignoring everyone.

"Things got a bit out of control, but never mind that; what's important is, do you have time, right?" Dominic asked as he looked at his uncle.

"Of course, did your father call you?"

"Yes, something like that..."
