90 Night in the Frost Forest [5]

Before the horde of infected Cultivators could reach Chi Cheng, just as one of them outstretched an arm to grab him, they were subdued by the grip of a strong hand. Huo Renyi breathed a sigh of relief when he sighted a formidable figure emerging from the Frost Forest in the nick of time.

The man simultaneously grabbed the infected Cultivator's hand while he gripped the throat of the dark spirit enveloping Chi Cheng. Using the dark magenta shades of his Qi, the man deftly expelled the dark spirit's energy which made its form dissipate.

Using his right fist, he punched out a powerful shockwave of his Qi which sent the horde of infected Cultivators flying across the stretch of barren land.

The man snaked an arm around Chi Cheng's waist before the younger male could plummet to the ground, securing him safely in his embrace.

"General Zhu…" Huo Renyi breathed a sigh of relief, striking one of his sabres into the ground to support his weight.
