1 Moved To New Place

A girl was sitting in the train's innermost compartment, slowly moving with the sound and the scenery passing quickly.

The girl was aimlessly looking outside, if no one saw her eyes open then anyone would think that she was asleep.

Some people in the compartment gave her a glance from time to time because that girl is too different not only in appearance, but also the temperament, so some curious women tried to talk with her, but that girl didn't utter any extra words other than the curt answer to the question those women asked.

After several tries, those women also felt an alienated aura from the girl so they stopped trying to make conversation.

Slowly one by one the people started to vacate as their destination came, at the end, there were hardly any people on the train when the train came to the last station.

When the train halted at its last stop, only then did the girl who was sitting beside the window got up and picked her luggage.

She slowly got down from the train, as she looked at the sky it was almost midday, she sighed heavily then slowly walked out of the deserted station, not a single person present.

When she came out of the station, there wasn't even a ride to hire, that girl still didn't have any extra expression, she was like stone, nothing can budge her and her emotions.

She took her luggage and walked out of the station as if nothing, even though the sun was so hot that there was sweat rolling down her forehead.

After walking for more than an hour, there was a horse carriage, which was unusual in such a place.

Because as far as the eyes can wander, there is not a single soul other than a horse carriage which was standing.

That girl didn't show any expression as usual, and her eyes were clear like water.

Soon her steps changed towards the horse carriage.

There was a middle-aged man who was sleeping inside the carriage,

"Hello?"

The girl called the middle-aged man, seeing him not responding, she again shouted, this time a little bit louder,

"Hello? Can you hear me? Hello?'

The middle-aged man was startled awake, after seeing a new face in front of him he was shocked afterward he became normal.

"Hello… who are you?" The middle-aged man asked.

His words are straight and rude which made the girl a little offended after even the illiterate will not ask 'who are you?', rather they will ask 'how may I help you?'

Such behavior shows bad conduct, but that girl felt that this middle-aged man may have worn coarse clothes, but his temperament is different from someone with a noble air.

That girl ignored the rude question of the middle-aged man and asked him,

"May I know, how far is Slyvien city from here?"

"Wh..what? Slyvien? You want to go Slyvien?" That middle-aged man was shocked that his eyes went wide.

"Ye… yes, is there any problem?" That girl asked strangely.

"No… actually nothing child, because no one comes here so when you said you are going to Slyvien, it just shocked me," That middle-aged man said while returning to normal.

Even though the reason was well founded, that girl felt a little weird, because she felt that there is something like mystery in the words of the middle-aged man.

"Well child, my name is Mathew, what is your name?" That middle-aged man called Mathew introduced himself.

Mathew can see that the girl is silent, not like a girl nowadays who doesn't have much enthusiasm.

"Serene" The girl curtly said her name.

Seeing the girl's uninterested look, Mathew didn't say much.

"Sir Mathew, may I know how far is Slyvien? And would you like to give me a ride there?" Even though Serene doesn't know how far the place she wants to go.

But seeing the deserted road and the sun on her head, the best way now is to hire the ride to Slyvien.

"Oh child, why not? Certainly, I mean yes I am waiting for the passengers here only so they can hire the ride to the nearest villages and I can earn some." Mathew a little bit stuttered.

"Let it be, come hope on, we will go to Slyvien, I think other than you there is no passenger so let me take you alone"

Serene felt weird but she knows why she is feeling like that after all by the word of this person called other than being more friendly there is no suspicious behavior.

Serene just sighed and left the thought which was running in her mind behind, then slowly closed her eyes.

Just as Serene closed her eyes, Mathew who was still jovial and talking while whipping the horses put on his smiley face and looked behind to see Serene.

His eyes which are normal black slowly started to turn into different colors but before the eyes could turn to colors, Mathew closed his eyes and then again opened them, his eyes went normal.

This thing wasn't seen by Serene who was resting with her eyes closed inside the carriage.

After like an hour suddenly the carriage stopped, Serene who was resting with her eyes closed suddenly opened but she didn't make any sound, but she could hear the murmur of Mathew and another person.

Then slowly from outside, there was a knocking sound,

"Child, Serene we are here? Are you awake??"

Again there was a knock.

Serene took a moment to gather herself then slowly opened the window and looked at Mathew then her eyes slowly moved towards the standing behind Mathew.

Seeing her looking at the stranger with a blank look, Mathew coughed and said,

"This is the gatekeeper, we need to make an entry pass here before entering the town"

Serene didn't ask anything, just handed her IDs for registration.

Then she got down from the carriage and looked outside, this place was surrounded by greenery, you can look around everywhere it is greenery.

She looked in the front where a big and majestic wall was standing, this is like heaven in the forest.

Just when she was immersed in the surrounding, Mathew called her,

"Child, all the verification is done, we can enter the town."

Serene nodded, and without a word, she entered the carriage.

Slowly the doors of the town opened with a slow screech.

Serene suddenly felt like something changed in her, her cold and unfeeling eyes moved a little bit alive.

She felt her whole body become relaxed as she came home.

This one sudden thought made her relaxed body tighten again, she who has not even let her guard down in her own house, how can she unknowingly loosen her guard at some unknown place?

This made Serene lose the color on her face, she became more vigilant and also afraid of the unknown.

But suddenly she remembered something, her eyes filled with pain, and remorse.

There was momentary confusion in her eyes, suddenly she closed her eyes when she opened she became the Serene who was at the beginning without emotion.

As she was tangled by the emotions, the carriage already entered the town, then the voice of Mathew came,

"Child, I took you to Slyvien, but to my bad memory, I forgot to ask you where you are going in Slyvien?"

Serene suddenly becomes sober,

"I am here to join the college"

"College?" Mathew becomes speechless.

"Child, I mean why did you come to this place as you can see this is almost delipidated and away from the hustle of the city, weren't young people love the party and city?"

Indeed, Mathew felt puzzled after all even the young people in this town were sometimes fascinated by the city life, some even went to enjoy it for a few days.

So when he heard that there was a person who came here to study made him puzzled and also wary.

'Did she know?'

Mathew thought in his mind, but nothing was showing on his face other than the pure puzzled expression.

This time Serene didn't keep quiet but answered quietly,

"I was tired of the city and wanted to find some peaceful place to complete my studies, so I applied here."

Even though the reason seems to be good, it seems far fetched, after all, if anyone wants a quiet place then there are many near to town, or even many colleges, and universities, which are far away from the bustling city, but this person almost came to the place which is hardly known by anyone.

Many thoughts were swirling in Mathew's mind, but he still nodded at the Serene.

After that, he took her to the only college in the town.

The college is in the middle of the town, occupying a vast area.

"Child, we are at the college entrance, and no private vehicle is allowed in without permission from the authorities of the college, so you have to get down here only"

Serene didn't say anything, just got down with the luggage.

After paying the fare, Serene bid farewell to Mathew.

"Thank you for the ride, See you."

After taking her luggage with her, she came in front of the majestic gate which resembles the town entrance gate but this is smaller than that gate, but still feels the power.
