Chapter 8

Lillian was quiet.

" At least if you steal it, you should return it," he stands up and holds her waist

" I won't say it again, let me go,"

He forcefully kissed her, she tried pushing him away but he won't budge. He eventually cuts the kiss. As she was going to slap him, he holds her hand.

" You like it, so why are you angry?"

" I like it? You must be dreaming," Lillian looked at him

" If you have nothing better to say, I am leaving," As Lillian was about to leave, he holds her hand back.

" Lillian, I am not asking for your permission, I am telling you what I will do,"

Lillian was already getting angry, she doesn't want to have anything to do with him neither with his mother. Lillian just wants a peaceful life. Because of the adoption she took, she can never have a child. That is a fact she is keeping from her mother, her best friend, and everyone around her.

" Then let me tell you that I won't marry you," she shouted at him

Austin slapped her. This was the first time Austin has ever lay hands on her. Even when they argued, he never lay his hands on her, no matter what.

" Let me tell you, you will either get married to me or your friend and your mom will be dead.....give me an answer in 2 days,"

" What has gotten over you? Are you threatening me with my mother and Shirley?" tears roll from her eyes.

One thing Austin hates, it is to see her cry. He knows that she will soon cry, that is why he wants to quickly leave before she cries.

" Why won't you and your mother leave me alone? I am tired.....why are you so bent on making me suffer? Have you forgotten how my mother took you as her own son?" she said " You are not even afraid, you are threatening me with her life,"

Lillian's mother shows him what true mother love feels like. He feels terrible by using her mother but he knows that if he did not use it, she won't listen. Even if you make her suffer, she won't yield.

" Lillian, I have told you what I need to tell you.....I am giving you 2 days," he leaves

Austin enters his car and he drove off.

Lillian cries.

" Why is he doing this to me? If I listen to his mother, my loved ones will die, if I listen to him we are not safe. Austin should have understood me, he should have to know what I am feeling," she cries heavily " I hate everything, is it wrong to have met him that day? If I have not met him that day, will my life be different? Dad, what should I do? Everybody are all pushing me to a corner, dad if you were me what will you do?" she looks up as she cries " I am going crazy, I lost my child and I can't even get pregnant again, my life is such a joke," she began hitting her chest

Lillian cries hard that day, her friend comes in. Shirley saw that she was crying.

" Lillian, are you alright?"

" Shirley," she hugs Shirley and cries " I hate Austin, I hate him very much.....he didn't keep his promise to me,"

This was the first time she has seen Shirley cry so hard. Even when she broke up with Austin, she didn't cry but Shirly could tell she was hurting. All the feeling Lillian bottled up, they are all coming out.

" You can cry as much as you want....you need to cry so that you can stand on your feet,"

" Could he have done something to her? He called me to come and comfort her," she thought
