Chapter 1- Reincarnation

A young man looked extremely worried as he looked at the watch on his wrist,

'This might as well be the worst day of my life' he thought to himself as he remembered the series of events that happened that led to this point.

Normally, today was supposed to be a good day for him, he had been admitted to the school he wanted, it was the day he'd see his parents again, they were gone for a few months for a business trip and he was waiting for this day for days, he would also only be able to see them for this day as today was his birthday.

Yet, the weird things started in the morning, first, when he woke up, he realized that someone had entered his house, every room, even his own room, in which he was sleeping in were in complete chaos, he had tidied everything up the day prior yet now, nearly everything was on the floor, yet, nothing was stolen, almost as if someone was searching for something, he even found the safe where most of the valuables were stored in on the floor, opened but everything was still inside.

After tidying everything up again, he got a call from his parent telling him that they couldn't come back home until tomorrow and that he had to pick up something from them from one of their many friends, after picking it up, the catastrophe started, he seemed to become unluckier by the second, nothing life-threatening happened to him, he just had unlucky events from the everyday life happening to him in the same day.

He wouldn't have cared much but a few minutes ago, he realized that it became extremely dangerous to him, a flower pot landed right next to him, if he was just a few centimeters to the right, it would've fallen unto him. Looking at his watch which showed 4 pm, he sighed and wondered if he should really keep the item.

He took out a small jade pendant from his pocket and weighed the pros and cons of throwing it in the trash and call it a day, at the same moment, he received a call, he looked at the person who called 'Mom', he picked it up and heard his mother speaking,

"Ye Feng, you picked up the item right?"

Ye Feng felt that trouble was coming, his mother only called him 'Ye Feng' when she had something extremely important to say,

"Yes, I picked it up, but, what is that thing, ever since I picked it, I became unluckier."

In the background, Ye Feng heard what seemed to be an explosion, it seemed to be not that far from his mother's location as he was still able to hear it, he didn't ask anything about it but remembered it in case it would be important later.

"Don't worry, it must just be your imagination, how could something like a pendant make you unlucky?"

"Yes, mom, you're right, it should be my imagination"

After he said that, his mother seemed to have muted herself as she didn't speak for a good 30 seconds, and even when Ye Feng asked a few questions, she didn't answer at all, when she unmuted herself, she hurriedly spoke,

"Anyway, your father and I will come back soon, see you soon! And also, if someone asks you, you don't have the pendant, oh and also, be careful not to put blood on the pendant, it might ruin it"

After she said that, she hung up, after hearing what she said, Ye Feng had a realization, it seemed that the pendant and the house being broken into were related, he didn't know anything else but his parents were in a dangerous situation from the explosion he heard, he was sure of that.

He had one task so he decided to follow it since it would help his parents, he was sure to remember to question them about what was happening, when he was about to head home, he felt something being pressed on the back of his head, while he was using his hands to touch what was pressed on his head, yet before he could turn his head to see what it was or touch what was pressed on him, he heard something,

*Bang*

He fell to the ground, blood was flowing, his 2 hands dropped on the back of his head, directly covering the place where the bullet went to, the palm of his hands were soaked in his blood, as the item that was in one of his hand, the jade pendant, the person that shot Ye Feng noticed a green glow on the head of Ye Feng and cursed.

He directly removed the hands and saw the jade pendant covered in blood changing color and turning red, he took out his phone and called someone.

In an unknown place, Ye Feng woke up, he looked around, the place was completely black, yet, far away, he was able to see shining and sparkling elements, Ye Feng had blurry eyes and when his sight became clear again, he realized that they looked exactly like stars, and if it was real then it meant he was in space.

He jumped, and fell down although there shouldn't be any gravity, he thus understood that even though it looked like he was in space, it was just a facade and he seemed to be on Earth actually, at the very least, it had a similar gravity to Earth.

While he was still looking around to see if he could find anything, he felt something on his neck, right under his clothes, he put his hand on his neck and it seemed to be a chain, and the thing under his clothes was revealed to be a red stone, it looked exactly like the Jade Pendant he picked up except it was now red. After making this discovery, he suddenly noticed that a being of light appeared right next to him, that entity was formless and hard to describe as every time you looked, you'd see it being different.

The Entity looked at Ye Feng and spoke,

"If you agree to give me this Star Piece you own, I shall grant you 3 wishes and allow you to keep your memories after you reincarnate"

He then pointed at the Pendant he wore, Ye Feng pondered for a while and said,

"I agree but you have to tell me what this is first and why it changed colors"

"Very well... The stone on the pendant you wear is a Star Piece, a Star Piece is extremely rare, it has a small chance of appearing after a Star dies, the Star Piece will then appear randomly in the universe, every Star Piece has a special power attached to it, and due to the extremely high number of power it can have, every Star Piece can be considered unique, the Piece you wear is one of the strongest I'd say, it's the Star Piece of Luck. As to why it changed colors, it's because after it comes into contact with someone's blood, it will bind itself to it and effectively grant him the power of the Star Piece, it's extremely hard to unbind a Star Piece from someone else but as I'm strong enough, it won't be a problem for me, though, luckily you bound yourself to this Star Piece before dying or else I wouldn't have found you"

Ye Feng pondered and was now sure the reason he was unlucky and died was because of this Star Piece, yet, he had to thank this Star Piece for allowing him to obtain 3 wishes from this all-powerful being, he thought of his parents and sighed, since these people could kill him, his parents are probably going to die soon. He took off the pendant and threw it to the Entity and then stated his wish,

"I wish to have a System, to be the luckiest that ever existed and will exist and to be the most handsome in my next life"

His first wish was something he dreamed of since he first read a web novel with a System as part of the story, the second was due to the trauma of having died because he was unlucky, and it was also because he considered Luck to be the most important factor of one's life as for the last wish, it was just something he wanted since he felt that Appearance was also an important factor.

The Entity paused for a while before speaking,

"I can grant you a System and make you the most handsome being, yet, I am unable to comply to your second wish, if you want me to grant it to you, I'll be forced to make every other factors of your life reach the bare minimum, making you the weakest there could exist, the most idiotic being and the one with the least talent ever"

Ye Feng protested,

"But if you do that, I want another wish since you're taking more than you're giving me."

The Entity pondered, he finally had an idea and said,

"Very well, I will grant you all of your wishes but your second wish will need you to work to reach it since it's nigh impossible to make you the luckiest except by using that one Star Piece and if I do that, then granting you 3 wishes is useless"

Ye Feng didn't think twice and nodded the moment he heard the Entity would grant him his wishes, light congregated near his body and his body directly disappeared, what he didn't see due to the light covering his eyes was the Entity smirking at him.
