FATED TO ALPHA HUNTER BY VENNEH LISAH

𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗔'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩:

I cleaned and sat behind the vanity mirror, my hand subconsciously rubbing my tummy. I missed the feeling of being pregnant. The bedroom door was knocked, and I stood up to answer. Grace and Rina walked in, with Grace unusually excited. "Please do my makeup?" Grace requested, and I sighed, motioning her to sit behind my vanity mirror. ''Is Hunter back yet?'' I asked them, and Rina answered, ''Yes, he is. He was on his way up when he met us coming here and he diverted to his office to clean up.'' I nodded and asked, ''The principal?''

''I don't know. We only came up here. We didn't go to the living or dining area,'' Grace said.

I was amused as I teased, ''Grace, are you sure that you'd want to leave such a good impression on him? Aren't you worried that the principal might be an old man, maybe Rina here got it wrong?'' I told her as I applied foundation on her face.

''I know what I saw. The principal is very hot. If I didn't have a mate, I would gladly throw myself at him. Grace, don't let him slip through your hands!'' Rina stated. ''He is really young. If he is a vampire or a lycan, it's difficult to tell because we never age when we get to a certain age!''

Grace's expressions remained hopeful as she asked, ''Do you think he will move into the pack house with us, maybe take Mylar's room?'' I could tell she was already building castles in the air.

"Only if he is a werewolf or a vampire or both. A human can't live here with our kind. We are constantly shape-shifting, especially Ania's mate with his anger. Do you want the principal to get high blood pressure or report us to the authorities?" Rina said, and we nodded in understanding, but Grace's expression fell. It was like we had delivered bad news to her, and her heartbeat changed.

After doing her full makeup and hair, Rina, Grace, and I headed down to the dining area after Hunter mind-linked us, telling us that everyone had settled down except for us, and they were all waiting for us. Kim and Ben followed us from behind as we made our way to the dining area.

"It's so wrong for the guests to wait for the host; it should be the other way around, my Luna," Kim spoke, as if I didn't already know. I felt terrible for making everyone wait for us, especially our guests.

Right before we reached the bottom of the staircase, Grace nervously tugged on my sleeve, whispering, "Is my hair alright? Is it messy? Oh, it better not be messed up..." I smirked, seeing how much she wanted to leave a good impression on the principal, even though she hardly knew him.

Snickering softly, I murmured in response, "You're fine. Not a single hair is out of place. It's perfect." As we descended the stairs, I happened to glance into the dining area to see where Hunter was sitting so I could go to his side. That's when I spotted the figure sitting across from him, and my breath caught in my throat. I stiffened in surprise.

Just then, Grace's gaze also landed on the man. She was so taken aback that she forgot all about her appearance. The shock was evident in her voice as she whispered, "Oh my god, look at that masterpiece." Before I could say anything, our principal lifted his gaze from Hunter to face us. Grace couldn't hide her awed whispers as he complimented the man, completely forgetting that everyone could hear her with our heightened hearing.

I shifted my attention and focused it on Hunter, who had stood up to pull a chair for me by his side. I split from Rina and Grace and made my way to my mate. He kissed my cheeks, and I sat down, watching as Joe did the same for Rina. Grace took the empty seat to my left, and at that moment, my brain stopped working as I stared at our guest, utterly dumbfounded.

The rays of light pouring in from the chandelier had cast the sharp angles of his face in shadows, while his dark orbs were as cold as ever. It was Richard. Our new principal was Richard Avril? Before I could react, Richard Avril shot me a small smile. "You must be our Luna, right? Pleasure to meet you," he said.

My mind link buzzed, and I opened it, feeling for Hunter. "He is a lycan," he said, answering all the questions that were flooding through my mind, wondering why he addressed me as the Luna.

Hunter's face was full of excitement as he said, "Mr. Principal, welcome to our pack house. Please feel at home?"

"Sure. I intend to," Richard replied, his expression rather placid. Up till then, he had not given Grace a glance, while treating me like we were complete strangers. His distant attitude even caused me to wonder if the man was just a random person who had a striking resemblance to the man I met earlier at the hospital.

"Well... Mr. Principal, here we have a self-service policy, and our guests have the first serve, but I can serve you if you don't mind," Grace said while blushing. "But will you mind telling us your name first?" she confidently asked.

"Richard Avril," he replied succinctly. The moment the words left his thin lips, my heart sank to my stomach. He really is the man I met in the hospital. What if he told Hunter about our meeting? What if Hunter becomes infuriated that another man stood in his place? But I would have told him if he had answered my calls and mind-link. A cold sweat formed on my head.

Hunter started purring, his calling washing over me. I was nervous to my core. "Do you want to tell me why you are so nervous?" my mate buzzed in my mind-link with the calling getting louder, helping me to relax. "I have never been a host before. I don't know if it's going on well," I said, and Hunter hummed in dissatisfaction, obviously not believing my reason.

"Richard Avril. What a pleasant name! May I be of service to you?" Grace offered with a smile, prompting us to cut the link. "Yes, sure. I will have a little bit of everything," Richard stated. Hunter only stopped purring when my heartbeat evened out.

With that, Grace stood up and served our guest, as Hunter, Joe, and Richard engaged in a conversation about school while the rest of us remained quiet. We began eating when everyone else served their meals, and we had a hearty dinner. "Mr. Avril, are you a local of Mooncrest?" I asked.

"Please, can I request something?" Richard asked.

"Yes, please, anything you want," Hunter stated.

"We are all acquainted now, please just call me Richie. That's what my friends call me. And no, I wasn't born here, nor was I raised here. I am from a different pack called Mystic Pack, in a different county. I only came because of the job. I needed to change the environment. Mystic Pack is currently under attack from hunters," Richard explained.

We all kept quiet, sympathizing with him. All of us there knew and understood that loss. But through his aura, I had no doubt he was either an alpha or someone with a high ranking from where he came from.

The dinner continued smoothly after that. Richard was rather chatty, albeit a little cold. Then an awkward silence descended on the dining area as dessert was being served.

"Do you have a mate, Richie?" Grace threw the question out of nowhere. The personal question made us uncomfortable, prompting a growl from Hunter. "I am sorry, my alpha." Grace quickly apologized.

"No, I don't, but I was in a relationship before moving here. Though I don't know if she is still alive, her parents took off with her and her mind link isn't working. But maybe if we see each other again, I might bring her over and continue the relationship from where we stopped." Richard's answer to the dumb question was calm and collected.

Grace's countenance changed, and she was almost burning with jealousy after Richie's words. Hunter let out a low growl, and Grace huffed. The tension in the air diffused, and Hunter asked, "Apart from me and my beta, have you met anyone else before you came here tonight, maybe some familiar faces in our midst?"

I almost choked, but sensing that Hunter was onto me through the bond, I controlled my heartbeat and watched Richie as he said, "Well, my Luna, what do you think?"

I cursed in my mind. How could he throw me such a tricky question that was thrown to him? Hunter was suspicious, and I could feel it through the bond as he shifted his gaze to me. I shifted my gaze to the piece of cake on my plate and sighed. "Well, it's a big city. You can never know who you have met before, but I must say that you look like someone I met today at the hospital. He was very helpful to me," I stated. I felt Hunter pressing through the mind-link, "Not now and not here, my alpha." I told him, and he shut the link.

After the principal had gone back to his hotel, we all retired to our rooms. I knew I had to tell Hunter the truth about my meeting with Richie earlier. If I lied, he would have sensed it and he was already suspicious of me.

As Hunter stoked the fire, I looked over at him and asked, "Are you okay, my alpha?" After I told him about my meeting with Richie, he didn't say anything but only hummed. I couldn't tell if he was disturbed or if he was alright, but his demeanor had changed.

Hunter walked over to me and sat behind me on the sofa, his fingers fiddling with my hair as he twisted it into a braid. I shivered as his fingers brushed the back of my neck, making me cringe a little at the ticklish feeling, knowing I was treading dangerously.

"Can I ask you something?" I leaned back and placed my head on his thigh.

"Hmm," he hummed again. I tipped my head forward to let him finish braiding my hair.

"You have hardly said anything since I told you about my encounter with Richard earlier in the day. Are you alright?" He hummed in agreement again, and my brows furrowed. I could sense through our bond that he didn't like this line of conversation.

Hunter growled, dipping his face and nipping at my lips, but I turned my face before he could deepen it. He sighed. "I am alright, my Luna. Don't think too much of it. I am just tired." He said. "Are you sure you are not disturbed by the knowledge that Richie stood in for me as my spouse today?" I asked.

"I am sure, Ania. Please, no more talking about it. Let me have this night without drama in our lives, and enjoy the night as it has been for the past few days." Hunter breathed out the words. He got up, muttering to himself, walking to his bar in the corner. "I hate when you drink," I told him, and he stopped, glancing at me over his shoulder. He said, "I am only having one."

"It's never one, and you know it. You think I don't see how much you drank after the...." I trailed off, shaking my head. I didn't want to go there, and I didn't want to take him back there. "It helps," he simply said.

"It helps get you drunk, and it helps turn you into a prick," I told him, turning to my phone and opening my TikTok app to see what was going on there. When I looked up at him again, he was pouring himself a glass, and I clicked my tongue. "I won't mention anything else tonight if you put the glass down." I told him, tilting my head to the side, watching him.

"And if I drink it?" he asked, turning with the glass in his hands. Yet, I knew he was drinking because it numbed his pain. Regardless, it wasn't a permanent solution. Glancing around the room, my eyes fell on my school iPad.

"I need your help with my school assignment," I said.

"Do you want me to help you with your assignments?" he asked, walking over to the iPad. He placed his glass on the coffee table and picked up the iPad. "Physics first?" he suggested, tapping on the screen.

"No, I need help with Mathematics," I replied. He smirked and picked up his glass. I pursed my lips, annoyed that he seemed to prioritize drinking over helping me. He then moved to the bed, propped up some pillows, and sat down. I glared at him, and he responded with a growl while patting his chest. "It's just one glass!" he exclaimed.

I raised an eyebrow at him and walked towards the bed, climbing onto his lap. As he reached for his glass, I snatched it from him and downed the entire drink, fighting the urge to spit the burning liquid in his face.

It was like swallowing fuel and tasted disgusting when I realized it wasn't his usual whiskey but something much more pungent, I was coughing and sputtering. "Well, that's what you get for stealing my drink," he chuckled as he deposited me beside him and took the glass back to the bar.

I jumped off the bed and swiped the bottle before he could grab it. "Ania, you can't drink the whole thing! You'll be on the floor after barely a quarter of that!" he growled amusedly.

I tipped the bottle to my lips, already cringing from the strong smell. "Go on then. I'll grab it when you pass out," he said, folding his arms across his chest. I sucked in a deep breath, wondering if holding my breath would make it not burn or taste so bad.

I chugged some down, the fiery liquid making it feel like I was drinking lava, and my eyes watered before I gasped, sucking in a choking breath and coughing. It could definitely be used as some kind of fuel. Hunter reached for the bottle, but I snatched it away and growled back at him.

I told him, ''From now on, every drink you have, I will have too.'' He snarled, baring his canines. ''And according to my calculations, it will take your entire bar for me to catch up with what you've drunk in the last week,'' I continued. ''Ania Talia Devonshire, give me the damn bottle!'' Hunter scolded me like I was a child. ''Make me!'' I retorted, swallowing more, only to find that it didn't burn this time.

Maybe I had scorched my throat and tongue so badly that it had killed the nerves. Nevertheless, the more I drank, the easier it went down. At the quarter mark, the room started to sway a little. My belly felt queasy, and I felt ridiculously hot. Moving towards the window, I had to open it. The fire made me feel like I was overheating. However, the movement wasn't in my best interest as I stumbled, feeling like my body was weighed down by lead.

''What is this stuff?'' I tried to ask, but my words were slurred. ''It's rum, and it is 85% alcohol. You usually mix it with something soft before drinking it. You're lucky to be standing still with how much you've drunk. If you weren't a vae-wolf, you would be on the floor,'' Hunter growled at me, reaching for the bottle and pulling it away from me as I swayed backward. I hadn't even realized that I was falling until he caught me around the waist.

''No more!'' he growled, nipping at my mark, and I moaned out his name, ''Hunter.'' ''I don't like it when you drink!'' I slurred. ''And I don't like you drinking!'' he snapped back before sighing. ''Fine, I won't drink, but you won't either. That was stupid,'' he said, placing the bottle on the bar before scooping me up. I couldn't feel my face or my tongue as I tried to move it between my teeth.

"I'm sorry, Ania, but you'll bite your tongue off!" Hunter snapped, jamming his fingers into my mouth. "What?" I tried to speak around his finger invading my mouth, and he growled before jumping back. Hunter hissed and sucked on his index finger that was bleeding, and I wondered what happened to him until I saw my teeth marks. "Did I do that?" I asked.

"Yes, Princess Warrior, using your teeth as a weapon?" he said, and we both laughed as he moved towards the bed.

He laid me down, and I felt so heavy. How could anyone like feeling that way? It was so off-putting. He moved away. "Hunter," I slurred, trying to roll my head, which felt like a bowling ball. "I'm going to chuck another log on the fire," he stated. I watched him, waiting for him to sneak to his bar.

Surprisingly, he didn't. Instead, he climbed back into bed and picked up the iPad. He dragged my dead-weight body on top of him before opening it. "Don't do that again," he whispered, kissing my head. "I won't, love. I'm sorry," I whispered back. "Okay, let's work on your assignment," he said.

But that wasn't what I wanted. My body was calling for him, and after some foreplay, my alpha delivered. He didn't stop claiming , my body, purring at some point his calling adding the euphoria and ecstasy like making love under the influence of drug ,he gave me pure ecstasy until we both had our orgasm. My eyeballs felt heavy as I tried to stay awake, but darkness swallowed me after a few minutes of cumming.
