Chapter 3

"What's going on here?" Kent asked, walking towards the commotion his boots making the floorboards creak.

"Kent my sweet darling…" Donna said walking towards Kent fawningly, her eyelashes batting up and down and looking at Kent with dark hooded eyes.

Her hands reach to touch him and wrap her hands around him and he steps back. Her face twists in displeasure and she humphed and turns back to face Lilith who has a smug smile on her face.

"Maybe it's not what I thought after all, my man's still my man." She thought to herself.

"You! And why do you show such an expression?" Donna huffed and puffed as she walked to Lilith.

"I don't understand what you speak of."

"Donna," Kent said with a frown on his face.

"I would appreciate it if you wouldn't upset my staff and disrupt their work. If they won't clean and cook, would you clean and cook?"

Donna's fist tightened and she looked at Lilith with serious burning anger.

"You wouldn't even ask me what happened yet you're taking the side of two measly maids."

"I was hearing the commotion from my office and I heard everything that happened. Asking questions would only waste my time, don't you think?"

"Even though! You dare embarrass me in front of some trash!" She harrumphed.

"Mind yourself, Donna," Kent said his voice was a deep baritone.

Donna leaves with tears streaming down her face and her boots making sounds on the floor.

"Thank you, Sire." Beth bows, pulling down Lilith to do the same.

"There's nothing to thank me for. New maid follow me to my office."

"Me sire?" Lilith said her eyes blinking rapidly.

"I don't think there's another new staff apart from you."

"Oh… the name's…"

"I didn't ask you for your name, I said follow me to my office."

"My apologies, sire."

The both of them walked into a wide office.

Lilith looked around with wonder and intrigue. A neatly arranged book cupboard and several maps hung on the walls and then the desk. The desk was the prettiest Lilith had ever seen. The only desk she'd ever seen. The wood carvings at the edge were intricately designed.

She looked at the side marveling at the beautiful view from the wide-spanned windows. And the smell of the sea and oh so marvelous smell of him. It made her feel heady.

She turned and looked at him sitting on the chair. She took in his appearance with excitement. His stubbled jaw and his sharp cheekbones. He had really pretty eyes and his orbs were as blue as the clean seas. And the hair was jet black and some tendrils were falling down his face.

The shirt he wore was a bit open allowing her to see a dusting of hair which went all the way down to a place she wanted to see. He was a literal walking masterpiece. She wanted to hide him away and make sure no one would behold him ever again.

"Hello?"

She snapped out of her man-induced trance looking back at him.

"Are you done raping me with your eyes?"

"Oh…I…" she stuttered her cheeks and neck turning to a deep shade of red.

"Sit down." He gestured to her to get a chair a few steps away from where she stood.

"So where did you come from? And how did you end up on that island alone."

"I was captured by some men at the border of my land."

"Captured?"

"We were taken forcefully. I think they wanted to sell us. We were bound and had no idea where we were going and we were all females. I could tell from the screams of some of them most nights. Until one day a storm hit and we were shipwrecked." Lilith lied.

"Then where are the others? And how did you remove your bounds and you were naked on the island." He asked suspiciously.

"As the storm hit they needed more hands on deck to help with sails and to carry the supplies inside so they had to unbound us. Some of the girls immediately jumped off the ship and drowned and only a few of us were left. The captain lost control of the ship's wheel and we hit something. The ship immediately started to sink and then everyone started to panic. The captain immediately took off carrying the spare boat and rowing away. He didn't get that far. We watched him row as fast as he could and then something pulled him into the water "

"What was it?"

"I don't know but it was some sort of creature. There was no hope anymore and everyone began to jump down. Their screams reverberated. I jumped and I couldn't hear anything. When I woke up it turned out I had been washed up. om the island."

"Then where were your clothes?"

"I had taken them off so they wouldn't make me heavier."

"Hm," Kent said.

He stood from his side of the desk and walked to where she was and sat on the desk facing her.

"How do I know you're not lying and you're a spy sent from wherever or you were sent to kill me hm?" He murmured, sliding his hand to the armrests of the chair she was sitting on.

Their eyes locked and there was this tension in the air.

"I assure you I'm not a spy. If I was I would probably have the perfect chance to kill you now, wouldn't I?

She scotched her chair closer now sitting in between his breeches-covered thighs. Her eyes looked at his crotch going back to look at his eyes.

"If you were a spy I'd like to see you try and kill me peaches." He chuckled, moving his face closer.

He looked at her, her eyes glittering and one of his hands going round her neck. His hands wrapped around it, his thumb finger going to where her main artery was.

"I could just snap your pretty neck right this instant."

Her tongue peeled out and licked her already dry lips.

"You wouldn't." His hands squeezed tighter. She squeaked.

Their eyes met with such intensity. He looked at her pouting lips and then her face and from where he sat he could see her bosoms. They looked so pearl-like and pillowy.

Her hands moved to his thighs feeling the hard material of his breeches and his hard thighs.

He bent his head just a bit more and their breaths were intertwined. Her hands moved closer to his crotch.

He moved her chin up and she was looking deep into his eyes too.

Their lips moved closer to each other, almost touching.

His office door was banged hard and he let go of her like she was made of fire and went to stand at the window.

"Sir we're a bit low on the gunpowder on the neck. I need the key to the storage room to get some more."

"All right I'm coming, give me a second."

Footsteps echoed outside the door until there wasn't any sound again.

"You get out."

"But sire…"

"I said get out."

Lilith walked out with her head hung low.

He took a deep breath, poured some rum for himself, and adjusted his breeches which because of a certain person was uncomfortable.

Lilith walked out of the office going to her quarters where Beth was.

"Are you alright Lilith?" She asked.

"Yes, I am."

"It's sunny, it's time to prepare supper."

Lilith chopped up some carrots while Beth washed some greens in the makeshift sink.

Beth reached into a barrel and brought out something.

"What's that?" Lilith asked, walking towards Beth.

"It's meat for tonight."

"Meat?"

Beth pulls out some lobsters out of the barrel. Their wriggling bodies struggle to get out of bounds.

"Oh, my word." Lilith's pupils shrink as she looks at people of her kingdom about to be killed inside steaming water.

"Larry! Pike!"

"Who are those? What are you saying?" Beth asked, confused at what her friend was saying.

"What are you going to do to them?" She asked, tears streaming down her eyes.

Beth laughed at Lilith's behavior " I'm going to cook them of course and make some lobster porridge."

Lilith burst into tears "No you mustn't they have a family and loved ones."

"Calm down, they're meant to be eaten, it's the circle of life."

Lilith cleaned her tears and resumed cutting the carrots, occasionally cleaning her tears with her frock.

She could still hear the sounds of the lobsters. Beth began to cut the lobsters and started to steam them. The small of the lobsters made Lilith gag and she went out to puke.

"Are you okay Lilith?" Beth asked worriedly.

"I'm fine. I don't just like the smell of food. I feel a bit under the weather though I'll just go to the quarters and rest up."

"Oh alright."

Supper was done and finally, it was time for everyone to rest.

The dock was quiet and eerie. Even a pin drop could be heard. The night guard was asleep atop the watchtower.

A robust figure passed to the edge of the ship. Its glowing purple ember eyes frighten anyone.

"Yes, she's here."

"Ini lehu mikvah…" The figure muttered incantations dropping something in the sea.

It continued its incantations and the water surface below glittered a strange color.

"It is done."

A small smile could be seen on the lips of the person and then hurriedly it went back inside.
