59 Give Up Already!

Fuyuki, Japan,

Anonymous Location,

"Well, this is nice, isn't it?"

Roman put down his coffee and observed his surroundings with a calm smile on his face.

It was a rather plain place, but was strangely clean without a speck of dust, the dark wooden furniture seemed to shine in the sunlight coming in from the windows. A teenage girl stood at the counter, occasionally stealing glances at the only customers in their somewhat hidden cafe, definitely not because he was attractive or something.

The Trambelio huffed lightly, resting his head in one hand as he put a piece of cake in his mouth with the other, "Vanilla.... don't like it." He muttered to himself, seemingly not paying attention to much and only lazing about.

It wasn't that he was unaware of his 'charms', just that they didn't hold much meaning in the world he lived in... Magi cared more about resources, accomplishments and backgrounds... In that way they were somewhat better in a sense if only they weren't incredibly racist and often sexist to boot, both ways even.

But, we digress.

".....Why is she here?"

"Same to you, adopted sow."

"This is like watching dogs fight for attention. Don't you have anything better to do?" Roman spoke solemnly, closing his eyes and taking another sip of coffee in an attempt to forget about his two... no, three companions. Namely, Luviagelita, his oh so beloved sister, Asheara and the still silent Waver.. With the last person only silently drinking his tea, brooding in silence..

Roman felt estranged by how Iskander's loss had actually managed to affect the young magus but, maybe it was for the better.

"Brother, be more reserved."

"No, leave." Roman instantly shot down his sister's proposition.

"How can you call me a dog?" Luviagelita crossed her arms under her chest, narrowing her gaze at her 'fiance'. The nature of their relationship was vague and she didn't like that one bit, "Well that aside..." She looked around at the establishment, his tastes were rather simplistic weren't they? ... Not that she really minded it, "I wonder if they'd be willing to sell it." She put a gloved hand under her chin,

"Cow any better?"

"...." The Edelfelt was left speechless once more.

Roman fixed his black suit with a victorious smile on his face, running a gaze over the old style yet luxurious dresses of the two girls on either side of him, he didn't feel any attraction to either though.

"When will we be heading back? You realise father ordered your return?" Asheara complained, it had been a whole goddamned week now! All he'd done the whole time was laze around, eat, drink, talk or spend time looking at the various sights remaining in this city! They needed to return soon to avoid the political backlash of the destruction he'd caused here and yet he seemed barely concerned...

Asheara found her brother to be quite the handful.

The Church was doing it's job at brainwashing the public well enough but that didn't mean the Mage's Association was blind to the events here. The only reason they weren't breaking down the doors was because it would mean them butting heads with the Holy Church. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that even now they were most definitely busy negotiating their entry into the city.

"Welcome, dear customers."

Before the 'discussion' could get even more civilised, the door opened with the chime of a bell and Kiritsugu walked in, a hand in the pocket of his coat, dressed in the same way he always was. Irisviel entered behind him, looking around with shining eyes, having not really seen something like the establishment before.

"Ah, Roman, it's been a while." Irisviel waved her hand, enigmatically dragging a chair over to the table the Magician was sitting at with not a care for whether it was allowed or not.

"M-Miss..."

The girl at the counter tried to protest, slightly raising his hand in mild confusion, what was she supposed to do here exactly? She didn't have to ponder much about it though as a single look from the Magus Killer glued her to her spot, rendered unable to even form a proper word.

"We just saw each other last week." Roman smiled, waving his hand back in an imitation of the homunculus.

"...Really? Feels like a lot longer.." Irisviel sounded unsure of herself, not matching Roman's gaze but instead curiously eyeing his cake which the Magician lightly pushed her way once he noticed that she wanted it...

Luviagelita observed the exchange in silence, left wordless at the pale haired woman's embarrassed refusal and Roman's insistence she take it..... This man.... He could be nice to people?! She stared at Irisviel so hard the homunculus felt she'd done something terrible to her unaware that the Edelfelt wanted to know what it was about her that made Roman of all people, behave nicely...

"Roman."

"Cuck."

Both men stared right at each other, strangely calm with Roman not bothering to stand up to greet Kiritsugu but to be fair, he didn't do that for almost anyone, "So, what did you think of my proposition?"

"What proposition?" The Magus Killer sat down right across the Magician, putting his hands together and leaning forward a bit... He'd brought along a pistol just in case Roman tried something and had spent the past week brainstorming, even coming up with several plans all of which went right out the window once he met the man face to face.... None of them really seemed plausible once the events of their last 'confrontation' flashed through his mind.

"Surrender, abandon your servant, let her fade away. Fuck off back to Germany, you'll find the Einzbern to no longer be a problem. You can try your luck at the next war." Roman cut his usual roundabout way of talking, getting straight to the point instead. The Magician narrowed his gaze, unusually serious.

"...What do I ga-"

"Do you think this is a negotiation?" The Magician slightly tilted his head, a harmless act that was enough to intimidate those in the know.. He didn't do something flashy like showing a bit of his power, that wasn't the way he operated, it never would be, "You're a failure, a broken failure with no foresight. You've failed everyone in life so far and if you think the past doesn't matter, you're a bloody idiot."

"Roman! That's too far!"

Where her husband stayed silent, Irisviel cut off Roman standing up in protest, only to realise what she'd done a bit later and sit back down embarrassed.

"I... suggest you listen." Waver Velvet finally opened his eyes, speaking in a calm manner as he fixed his collars, "He can and will force you to accept his way if you don't."

Asheara and Luviagelita stayed put, understanding that it wasn't really their place to butt into this conversation.

"Go home, spoil your wife and kid, forget world peace unless you're going for genocide." Roman Trambelio sighed, deadpanning at the Magus Killer's stubbornness and foolishness, a wish like his would take away what made humans humans if granted, why couldn't he understand that?

"..." Kiritsugu didn't rebuke his words, Roman had, the last time they'd met, shown him a vision of what would happen if he made a wish as the Grail was and while it could be meant to mislead him, the evidence pointed towards the vision being true, "And the Grail will be cleansed for the next war?"

Roman's lips twitched, this guy.... he still wanted to see his wish through? .... Oh well, who was he to argue? ... Is what he would think if Kiritsugu was only dooming himself... Standing up abruptly, the Magician grabbed the Magus Killer by his throat, raising him into the air only slightly as he struggled to break free of Roman's inhuman grip, "Gib schon auf! It's a childish dream that makes no sense at all. What are you? A fucking kid?" He threw Kiritsugu down before Irisviel could ask him to let her husband go.

On that note, the homunculus was having a dilemma of her own, some part of her urged her to aid her husband but the other hoped Roman could knock some sense into the man, which woman wanted to see the man she loved more than herself throw away his life foolishly?

"Irisviel.. will be sacrificed anyway!" Kiritsugu fixed his tie, glaring at the Trambelio, his voice clearly pained by what he'd said, "Who do you think the Lesser Grail is?! Me?!" He somewhat shouted, letting his emotions get the better of him for the first time in forever.

"You incompetent cunt, if you'd actually pulled your head off justice's cock for a moment you'd notice her condition! Does she look any worse than before? Do you think I would let that happen!?" Roman sat back down, sighing, clearly annoyed by the raven haired man before him..

The three other individuals accompanying him were left a bit taken aback, never really having seen Roman get worked up.

"...." Kiritsugu looked at his wife with wide eyes, understanding just why she hadn't gotten weaker and weaker with each servant's death.. Hosting that much energy should have made her burst, literally.

"Now go back to Germany. We're done here." Roman picked up his cane, walking out of the cafe with a small limp in his step, slowly putting on his usual calm yet annoying smile.. Only stopping when Irisviel stared at him questioningly.

"Why?"

She asked, kneeling down next to Kiritsugu and trying to help him up.

Roman smiled politely, "It doesn't matter. Be with your husband, enjoy your life to the fullest. I'll try to steer clear of you guys." With that, the Magician left the establishment, not waiting for her to answer.

Luviagelita sighed, still somewhat stumped by this side of her fiance and left a gemstone on the counter as payment for damages... Clearly however, the girl at the counter was too shocked to move after what she'd witnessed there.
