80 Chaos

Espoo, Finland,

Edelfelt Compounds, Westend,

"What is the meaning of this, Lord Trambelio?"

Inorai Valualeta Atroholm was the first to voice her thoughts at the sight before her, her mouth covered by an open fan.... The older woman was perhaps the most experienced person here AND the one with the most influence... minus the newcomers.

"Please, call me Roman. That just feels so terribly distant." The Lord 'Trambelio' had an amused smile on his face as he spoke, at the same time, he gestured for a servant to bring him something to drink. As was his nature, to derive amusement from anything and everything.. And besides, he was confident in his victory.

Once a glass of wine was in his hand, the Magician only grinned and snapped his fingers once, "Well, you can return to your festivities now.." He tilted his head in feigned confusion when the hall descended into an awkward silence after that, "Eh, are you afraid of me? What about the sticks? Have I been underestimating everyone here?"

Silence... Though more because no one knew what the hell to say than fear of the main guest...

Magi believed themselves to be highly sophisticated, highly reserved and extremely intelligent... Someone like him was a wrench thrown into the intricate cogs in their heads.

"Ehem.." Once again, quick to recollect herself, Inorai cleared her throat, "What is the meaning of this, Roman?" She pointed at Lorelei, incapable of caring about whoever else he brought along... They paled in comparison to the Barthomeloi.

"She's my plus one, you can have a plus one at parties." Roman nodded sagely, no trace of tact in his tone, "How come you don't even know that? Some noble." Any opportunity to mock someone would be taken without hesitation.

Inorai's lips twitched at his nonchalant response, "I am aware of the custom of bringing a companion but why does it have to be her?"

"She seemed the better choice." That much was true, Lorelei hadn't once truly looked down on him.. Perhaps that was the case because Zelretch might have warned her beforehand but Roman didn't quite care, "Who else was I supposed to bring?"

Inorai opened her mouth but was cut off before she could even speak,

"But well! She's here is the fact of the matter." Roman smiled widely, tilting his head ever so slightly, "Surely you know what that means?"

"...Indeed." Inorai froze for a fraction of a second, what it 'meant' was that he'd brought the head of the aristocratic faction along with him for a matter that was meagre to her... It was a power move of the purest kind, conveying that his influence far outclassed theirs... A fact that seemed lost on the few members that were beginning to show signs of frustration and outrage.

Lady Edelfelt had been silent till now, gesturing to her servants with the most minimal of movements with a strange glint in her eyes... Clearly, she was up to something.

"Gotta say, appreciate the understanding." Roman gave her a thumbs up, smiling harmlessly before turning his gaze away entirely, "Now then, you lot." Passing his glass over to the silent Tamamo no Mae, the Magician faced the numerous Trambelio branch families, his smile morphing into a sneer, "Doesn't this occasion seem comic to anyone?"

He held a hand over his chest, pointing the tip of his cane at the 'Trambelio', "Surely individuals such as yourselves read a book or two about the commoners to feel good about yourselves?" He tilted his head, removing his smile, "Well, do you?"

A reluctant few nods came his way, the nobles slowly understood their positions.

"Then! You must have heard of such a situation before? The shamed fallen returning glorious victors? Taking vengeance for the unfairness they receive? Isn't that the theme of many stories?" His mouth split into a grin, "What then do they do to their oppressors?"

Marisbury had already made himself scarce, retreating into an unassuming corner with his wife and daughter with Camus Peligor following suit, perhaps aware to some extent of what was coming..... They'd just been told it was a little party, not that said party would be turning to a bloodbath.

Lorelei however, retreating would stain her honour... She only observed Roman with both hands behind her back, analysing the situation calmly.... Did he, in his anger, not realise how this would 'cripple' him? The Barthmeloi averted her gaze at the terrible joke.

Roman ignored the varying reactions from those unrelated and moved his cane from one side to the other, the tip leaving a trail of red, visible magical energy,

"What pray tell, is there to stop me from doing the same now that I find myself in this situation?"

The Trambelios froze up, unable to retort... The fact that they'd looked down on him was undeniable, and seeing his actions, he clearly wanted revenge... And against a man who'd levelled a city, did they stand any real chance?

Inorai closed her eyes, not wanting to see the loss of so many at the same time not for the people they were but for what they brought to the table for their faction.

"Hold a moment.." Lorelei spoke up, staring at Roman in a voice that held no compassion, "While it might not be my place to say, are you certain erasing them will have no consequences for yourself?" As the head of the Aristocrats, it would result in much gain for her but, as an ally to Roman Trambelio, it was unwise and would make her re-think said alliance.

"Tamamo agrees Master, why not have them pay in some other way? No need to cost yourself." Tamamo shared her thoughts while glaring at the terrified and unmoving 'family members', not that she didn't want to rip them to shreds herself.

Dramatically, Roman shook his head from side to side, "True, but I'm afraid there's no stopping this." The magical energy glowing brighter and brighter as he spoke until it exploded into a blinding flash of light.

"Good luck getting the smell out, cunts. Now you'll smell like what you are."

"....."

The scene that entered everyone's visions when the light cleared was so ...so damn stupid it made even Lorelei take a step back, "..." She was left speechless, not having seen it coming at all... Though she wasn't alone in that.. Even the calm and collected Inorai took a step back, supporting herself with the table behind her...

"Pft-" Blood sprayed out his mouth as Melvin Weins fell over, laughing on the ground with both hands on his stomach... This was too much! This was exactly why he was always with Roman, the man was too darn amusing.

"Eh?" Seemed to be the general reaction though.

The Trambelios stood covered in a red gooey substance, some had fallen over and passed out while others were too busy emptying their guts at the smell the goo released... It dirtied their clothes, seeped into every pore of their skin and smelled exactly like what Roman said it did, except when left dirty for months on end.

"Oh God.. what the fuck?"

"What... What is that sme- bleurgh!"

"Thi-"

"In hindsight, I think that could've gone better." Roman pinched his nose in an attempt to stop the smell, already done with his laughs, holding a camera in his hand. What did they think he was going to do? Kill them? Who the fuck would kill retards for being rude? Of course ruining their lives for the next few months was appropriate. They'd be smelling that for a while..

Next to him, Tamamo no Mae paled, more sensitive to smells and the likes thanks to her 'unique' nature.... What..What the hell was wrong with him?!

Lady Edelfelt released a relieved sigh, a hand over her chest... She was grateful that she hadn't her daughter off to an idiotic psychopath... The blonde restlessly tapped her fingers against her own arm, already over the sight before them and now awaiting the arrival of a 'surprise' she'd prepared..

"You're maybe a genius or a complete idiot...." Inorai Valualeta Atroholm folded her arms, a rare smile on her face... This did prove it, coupled with what she'd witnessed over the past week and their interaction before... She was certain he could appropriately lead the Democrats...

"Wh-"

Holding up a finger, she silenced Byron Valualeta Iselma, "Let the young man have his moment, he deserves it.." Roman's treatment was no secret to them.... Yet, it seemed the Princesses of Silver and Gold didn't 'see' or 'hear' her gesture, quickly walking up to Roman and putting a hand on either of his shoulders.

"Stop! Lord Roman, close your eyes! Everyone else as well!"

The sounds of the twins' hats falling to the ground echoed in the hall as every lord closed their eyes, more than aware of the consequences of opening them.. Yet, an unaware servant or two became victims, falling to their knees with blank eyes and foaming mouths...

"Damn, you're almost as beautiful as this pig I saw once."

Byron Valualeta Iselma's jaw dropped in shock, as did everyone else's when Roman appeared barely fazed by the Twin Princesses staring him down....., "Y-You two, cover yourselves up this instant!" He barked out, harshly ripping the two sisters away from the new Lord Trambelio... though, the two sisters seemed barely fazed by his actions, left shocked by Roman's words... Not that they both could hear them, they could read lips though.

The fact they were made aware of that day however was,

An ability on par with True Magic had no effect on him at all.

The ability or rather, beauty so immense and perfect it would blot out one's very consciousness.

"Now then, can we move on to the important part? I can't wait to tell you you're dumb... Oh that and, I used a spell to blot my sight momentarily."

He did no such thing and yet the explanation was plausible, affirming for the Democrats his credibility.... If he could forgo revenge for advantages and was this talented, they had no qualms.... And to say this was coincidence, was stupidity of the highest order.... Question was, how much of this was as he wished it?

Throwing so many magi into disarray was a feat none had quite accomplished.

Amidst this chaos however, Kurou Adashino made moves of his own, physically reaching inside his own chest with an unfeeling gaze.

-

Unknown to all there, figures in black robes that covered their bodies, armed with weapons both modern and mediaeval, encroached upon the compounds at a steady pace. Silently eliminating any form of security.

One thing stood out among these new assailants,

They all wore crosses around their necks.

CHECK OUT FATE/IMPROBABILITY, you fucks ignored the last msg... Or I missed the replies but meh.

Of course, Roman isn't done with them. He'll make them do something that's like cutting off one arm and one leg for magus which would probably not be disturbed by the former, they will be by what he orders though.

It's I-S-E-L-M-A. And B-A-R-T-H-O-M-E-L-O-I

For clarification on the twin princesses, I reread the source material cause I felt something was off and yeah it was. The Silver Princess is blind and the Golden Princess is deaf.

They attacked Roman because they registered him as a hostile entity.

-

The nobles recollect themselves way quicker than normal people because they're supposed to be a level above them in all aspects. This clarification for those that find their reactions too fast paced or strange.
